I don't come out to Discovery Bay too much anymore, but I stopped by for some gas and snacks on a Monday evening. Michael's Market is like a convenience store (c-store), but it's loaded with beer, wine and tobacco items. It has a fountain area and wide variety of snacks and candy. For awhile it was the only neighborhood shop around. But now the Discovery Bay shopping center is right next door. Yes, I saw the Confederate flag. But the clerk was friendly and helpful. I was wearing my work uniform w/ ID. People with jobs usually have money to spend. Michael's Market is a well stocked c-store that can save you a trip down the road to the Safeway shopping center. Shell gas prices were about average for the SF Bay Area. Located on the corner of Discovery Bay Blvd & Riverlake Rd.”

“I have gotten in the habit of picking my gas stations by both location AND what snacks they have. This particular station is a favorite for several reasons: convenience to the freeway (check), low prices (check), easy to get in and out (check), and good soda (check check). Someone at this station loves Cactus Cooler. It so happens I love Cactus Cooler and it can be hard to find. Walking in a finding it (consistently) is a real bonus. Even better, they added a car wash earlier this year. Some of the staff is really friendly and some isn't. I guess the two balance each other out. Terrific if you are paying cash because you don't have to go in the store. Recommended.”
