We have secured car loans over the years, and I recommend them as you can get a pre approval here and then take it to the dealership. Their rates are competitive. It is like a small home town bank as everyone is always friendly. The branch manager, Natalie, is the best. She has gone above and beyond to be helpful. I highly recommend SDCCU!

5 stars isn't enough. Branch Manager Natalie and her team helped us above and beyond expectations to resolve a very complex situation. You can't go wrong doing business here.

They must have liquidity problems. You cam buy a treasury not at 5.3% and sdccu gives you less then 1%

Unfortunately, I have hated SDCCU and especially the Murrieta branch for many years but the wife will not switch since she has everything set up here. I do think that we can move some accounts though. Today was yet another reason I hate SDCCU, back in September we purchased all of our gift cards for the year to hand out for the holidays. I went in today with mine and asked to transfer them to my checking account. After several minutes of waiting for the manager, the teller went to see him, but he never came out, he just told her to tell me that they were non-refundable. I was so angry I turned and walked away. After I got to my car I called the customer service line to complain about the whole thing including the manager. I also mentioned the whole "reader's pole" BS, they send out directed links to their listing so you do not see any others. I went to my "Coast" credit union that I love and the teller there told me a few ways to get the money. Unfortunately, the crap Atira gift cards SDCCU sold charge $2.85 to get cash out on top of the $4 fee for the cards. But when I tried the transaction was declined. I am done buying gift cards and so done with this credit union.

Sdccu is a great Credit Union! My husband and myself want to thank Yvonne Rodriguez, she is so wonderful! She helped us get our funds back after we had fraud in our acct. She and her boss Natalie Johnson really worked their magic and put me at ease, fixing our accts. right away. I would suggest anyone to open up an acct. with this wonderful Credit Union. Their AWESOME! Thank You so much!!

Let me regale you with a tale of sheer incompetence that transpired at this bank. Brace yourself for this one - a supposedly high-ranking manager had the audacity to deny a pregnant woman the chance to open a new account, all because she couldn't speak English. But hold on, folks, the kicker is that this very bank had an employee who fluently spoke the client's language! They even had an appointment set up with this bilingual savior. Bravo, SDCCU , for reaching new heights of inefficiency!

Here's the issue, as my score isn't reflective with this branch, but with SDCCU's online services. Like every other banking institution, I can pay whatever I choose from my checking account with another banking institution to SDCCU for my monthly SDCCU credit card debt. I can choose to pay the minimum amount or more each month. SDCCU allowed this until now. SDCCU is NOT accepting payments from other banking institutions unless I sign up for automatic monthly payments. The issue with that is I pay different amounts each month, not only the minimum payment. So this is not an option for me. The other method is to fund my savings account or open a checking account with SDCCU. I do not wish to do either- so in essence, SDCCU is forcing customers to do so- I will not do so. What I am going to do, is transfer the automatic withdrawals from my SDCCU credit cards to other banking institutions. I then will be closing my savings account. When a banking institution twists customers' arms to try and force them to open new accounts with them or fund existing accounts with more money- just to pay monthly bills- when no other banking institution I currently bank with demands that- then I'll bank with those other banking institutions that don't restrict my options. After a long relationship with SDCCU, it's sad it has to end this way. And their current attitude of caring less about losing a long-standing customer makes the departure easier.

My dad banked with them for over two decades. He added me onto his account right after being diagnosed with cancer, and he passed weeks later. It was shockingly fast. I brought them his death certificate when I got it, and left this account alone while I trudged along dealing with his estate - as his sole trustee and beneficiary - which was not prepared for his sudden departure. After a few months I went back to the SDDCU Murrieta branch to deposit a check and open my own business account with a large sum. Imagine my horror when I was told that not only was my dad's account closed, it was also in collections and I was being reported to Chexsystems. I might tell you I was in banking management for years and there's not a chance in hell I could ever be reported to Chexsystems on my own account. The very polite teller called over the branch manager who was quite rude off the bat. Again, I was always on the other side of this; therefore, I'm always polite and understanding. I was taken aback by the sheer attitude of said branch manager and it was quite off-putting. She offered me nothing, no solution, nothing. I asked if we could call her back-office because I get it - this is a back office issue now. This girl was NOT happy about being asked to actually work a little. You see, SDDCU did not put the appropriate holds on my dad's account that indicated a deceased person. Therefore, they inadvertently allowed all of his ACH monthly transactions to continue being pulled out. They let the account get hundreds of dollars into the negative. Instead of contacting me at any point, they decided to just simply close the account and report me to Chexsystems. We went into Miss Branch Manager's glass cubicle and she called, annoyed, and gave half the story, and truly could not care less. Meanwhile, I'm trying my hardest not to cry because here was my dad's beloved account, a nearly 30 yr member, tossed away like he didn't matter in the slightest. Back office said there was nothing they could do - of course not. Why would they try to remedy a situation where clearly their own branch manager doesn't even care? I asked her repeatedly why on earth they didn't attempt to contact me. Not a single phone call nor letter. Her flippant response: "we don't contact joint signors." Even though they had my phone number and address!!! Even though my dad was deceased!!! In fact. Miss Branch Manager put the blame solely on me. She shortly stated that it was my responsibility to check in on the account, no one else's. I mean, fair point - I was the only other signor. However, I THOUGHT THEY WOULD DO THEIR JOBS WHEN I BROUGHT IN HIS DEATH CERTIFICATE. Like really?? It wasn't just what she said, it was the superior attitude in which she said it. Frustrated, alone, angry, and saddened, I walked out without my dad's account in tact and without my shiny new business account. I received a letter awhile later in the mail stating that they weren't sending me to Chexsystems, although they weren't reserving any of the charges either. I threw the letter away. It was nothing more than a slap in the face on top of the already stressful and draining task of handling my dad's estate.

We have accounts totaling $40K plus mortgage loan and are not qualified to get a revocable trust document notarized through them! The trust is relevant to our business with them. Bye, bye SDCCU - so much for customer service - we’ll move our accounts elsewhere.

Employees are unresponsive and can never help with any issues. App and website are incredibly slow and have been for years, never have seen an attempt to fix it. Automated phone system doesn't recognize correct information either. So if you get an employee good luck and if you get the computers they set up, you're even more screwed.

Agreed with the reviews below. The staff, including the branch manager is woefully uneducated on matters of trusts and powers of attorney. I am highly experienced at both, and attempting to handle my parents affairs as they are both terminal and dying. At this worst time, this branch tried to tell me things about their trust I know are untrue, when I told them so, they made up more things to fight me on it. After that, I couldn't argue any more, and packed up my documents and left. When I got back to my parents and tried to access their account, I realized they had locked his account. (My dad had given me everything to manage his affairs when he realized he was getting too sick :( So we took every single legal step to be sure we were covered. For sure this branch is losing customers for their high wealth or business clients. They absolutely do not know how to handle any of their affairs. Check out a larger bank like Wells Fargo or Chase. While they have their drawbacks to be sure, at least they know how things work in the banking world.P.S. Their online banking is even worse. The billPay system is confusing at best, and they do not have Zelle (or anything like it) for their customers. The only attractive thing this bank has is car loans.Oh, and if you have ANY kind of issue with your account after hours or on the weekend, there is NO ONE you can reach on 800 number or anything like that.

This branch is not educated of state regulations in regards to living trust and power of attorney. Which has become a living hell for my husband and I. The staff is warm, and doing their best, but apparently SDCCU is not following state regulations, nor following ADA regulations.

I stopped in to have a new debit card produced because mine had been compromised. I was told that it would be an hour wait because they were short staffed and they could not let the tellers come off the line to assist me in my debit card issuance. So much for customer service at a credit union!!!!!
