2 bathroom stalls, only 1 working. Does not seem like they meter who enters, so it could be very crowded with lots of people waiting to take pictures, or you could luck out and have the place to yourself. Cool souvenirs, including handmade wood containers. The best thing that is attractive about adding this place to your itinerary is the proximity to the main road. It will only add 4 to 5 minutes of drive time as you head to see other sights. Kids will love the statues, places to explore, and little houses. There is also a children's "walk-through" tree stump.

Not worth the money

Clearance not disclosed at entrance, and there is no way to get change from your cash or use a card if the gift shop is closed. Not an accessible or honest way to run a tourist business, so I would give less than one star if I could. Someone having to search through the reviews or other websites to find that info is not good-to-go, not to mention it’s charging $15 for a quick five-minute drive through all the attractions unless you have folks using the playgrounds/houses.

The Shrine Drive Thru Tree in Myers Flat, California, is a unique and iconic attraction nestled within the stunning Redwood forest of Northern California. What sets this particular tree apart is its sizeable hollowed-out base, which allows vehicles to pass through it. This living tunnel of ancient redwood is a remarkable sight to behold. As you approach the Shrine Drive Thru Tree, you'll be greeted by the sheer size and grandeur of this giant redwood. Driving through the tree is an exhilarating experience, and it's one of the few places where you can literally "drive through" a living tree. It's not only a fun and memorable activity but also a symbol of the harmonious coexistence of human visitors and the awe-inspiring natural surroundings. The surroundings of the Shrine Drive Thru Tree are equally captivating, with towering redwoods and lush greenery providing a peaceful and enchanting backdrop. Visitors often stop to take photos and soak in the beauty of the ancient forest. This attraction is a testament to the enduring allure of California's Redwood Country, offering a chance to experience the magic of these colossal trees up close and personal.

Is it a tourist trap? Yes. Is it over priced? Yes. Is your SUV too big to fit through it? Absolutely. But... do my kids ask to come here every time that we go to Humboldt redwoods because it's tradition? Exactly. So buyer beware - it's pricey and your car may not fit. Just pay to walk in and experience the campy fun. I have pictures of my kids at every age in those treehouses and I appreciate that this business is still there as part of the tradition.

Honestly, pretty cool experience to do in the avenue of the giants. The drive through the tree takes skill! Advanced drivers familiar with the vehicle is highly recommended. You can see scrapes along the inside of the tree from previous vehicles not aligned properly. Our 2022 Ford explorer BARELY made it through, half an inch clearance on both sides. I live for adventure and this didn't disappoint!

Unless you have a super tiny vehicle or a golfcart, you will not be able to drive through the tree. No clearance signs posted before payment and no human on-site to request a refund after entrance. Save your money for the gift-shops down the road. It’s been 2 months and we still joke about how much of a ripoff this was! The only thing we got out of this place was a good laugh.

Loved it! We were driving a Toyota RAV4 and it fit with plenty of space. We went through twice, once with everyone in the car and once with everyone taking pictures of the car going thru. We had fun exploring the kids play houses ( big enough for adults too) and carved bears were fun photo opportunities. It was $15 per car with up to five people in it. Highly recommended!

Such a fun experience for the kiddos! They really enjoyed driving through the tree and up onto the log! We drive a 2018 Toyota Sequoia and it BARELY fit.Employee was kind, there wasn’t a long line either (weekday).

Fun little place. If you go to the right, good luck trying to fit any car through the tree! Little smart cars are about the only things that can fit with ease. The drive-thru tree is hollow, so make sure to look up!If you go to the left, there's cute tree houses with stairs built inside and a drive on log.The people here are also very nice and have great respect for our veterans.
