Newport Beach Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course that offers a mix of experiences for golfers. While some reviews mention the tee boxes being made of range mats rather than grass, the fairways can be hit-or-miss, with a combination of grass and dirt. However, the greens are generally in good condition, and the course is suitable for golfers of all skill levels. The course is described as a "fun short 18 hole course" that's great for practicing one's short game. Some reviewers appreciate the course's affordability, especially compared to more expensive options in the area. However, others note that the proximity to the airport can be a distraction, with the noise and jet fumes from the planes. Overall, the Newport Beach Golf Course seems to be a decent option for casual and beginner golfers looking for an affordable and relatively low-stress round of golf. While it may not be a high-end, pristine course, it provides an opportunity to work on one's skills without breaking the bank.
Not a bad course considering the price. The greens are in excellent shape at this price point. Definitely a party course....byob. Great stiff drinks at the pizza bar afterward. It's a newport beach gem. Don't ruin it for the rest of us.

Course is shaggy. Greens in decent shape. Take it for what it is. An accessible municipal course that is an asset to the community. People are friendly and the sports bar is awesome.
