Pit stop although there was plenty of tables and chairs outside. We were only after hard cheeses and their Reserve fit the bill.Large variety.Friendly staff. No cheese tasting available.Good price point.Eggs sold out by Sunday 4:30 PM.That region is stunning--we hiked a bit, went to French Marin (they sold Nicasio Valley cheese for almost double the price), and back for more at Nicasio Valley. Enjoy!

Love this place. True old school Marin gem. The cheese is amazing & the team there is great. Get it at the store or at the civic center market on Sunday & have a great conversation about cheese & cheesemaking. Adore everything about this place.

We have been to Nicasio Cheese several times over the last few years. First, the cheese. We have always been impressed with the quality of the cheese. My wife, who is from France, can attest to the high quality compared to what she enjoyed while growing up. Their soft cheeses are great and the Nicasio Squares are pungent (in a good cheesey way) and remind us of the wonderful soft, aromatic cheeses of France. While all food is a matter of taste, I am aware that what I like may not be liked by others. Yet I have never had a cheese there that I did not like. Today's visit reinforced that impression. The shop is unpretentious and the host is both knowledgeable and friendly. No pressure to buy. The sales talk, as such, is an enthusiastic, informative description of their products. This atmosphere is a welcome departure from that of the more commercial shops in this area. In all, there is little to criticize and much to laud. This shop is highly recommended.

This is a small cheese shop in an isolated town in Marin county, which we visited this past Sunday. Tastings ended at 4pm, but the employee let us try a couple cheeses leftover, as we were there about an hour before closing time. She was friendly and provided helpful info about the different offerings. We ended up buying two kinds, the Foggy Morning with basil and garlic, and the Nicasio Reserve alpine style (hard cheese). I preferred the latter, but they were both tasty and we brought our own crackers to enjoy these with after our visit. They have a bit of outdoor seating and a small parking lot as well.

Stopped by on the way back from Point Reyes and boy were we in for a treat. The Foggy Morning cheese was such a delight, both light and creamy at the same time. We also got the Nicasio Reserve which was good but not amazing. The staff were so nice and welcoming; specially cut up some samples for two of the hard cheeses for us. I would suggest bringing your own bread and salami for a nice afternoon of charcuterie. They do sell bread crisps and salami there (we bought the bread crisps) but not bread. There is a pleasant outdoor picnic table area that is half shaded and perfect to enjoy the cheese on a warm day. I would love to visit again soon.

I curated a few creameries for a fun little day trip. Out of the 5 we visited, Nicasio Valley Cheese company easily beats everyone else. They had great customer service and their cheese superior. They were giving out tours now for anyone interested, although we did not join one.We came home with the Foggy Morning, alpine cheddar and the Loma Alta.

We had a cheese tasting and tour with Rick, Jeremy, and Flo - we were their first ever tour open to the public, and we couldn’t have had more fun. All of the cheese was delicious, and we walked away with so much more knowledge and respect for how they run their operations. The Foggy Morning (with basil and garlic) and Reserve were our favorites. I thought it was a nice touch that they had some fresh organic bread from a local bakery as well. I would recommend this experience for all ages - great way to spend a Friday.
