“A friendly little neighborhood liquor store. Plenty of soft drinks and snacks also. You can get your usb chargers here chewing tobacco beer liquor. I've never had a problem coming here and I've always been treated very well.”
“I heard good things about the store from other people , but after I stopped by myself I realized that good is a big understatement , the service , the variety and very fair and good prices , but what I liked even more that was the owner , the nicest man I ever met , super polite, super helpful and always very happy to see , and also very knowledgeable in his business . 10 stars . Highly recommend”
“Love this place have been coming here for over a decade now. Great service George the owner is an amazing man. Marks ok to ?. This place is a great part of the sunvalley community.”
“Mad love for the new owners that took over recently. Down to earth and very kind. Super attentive and you can tell they enjoy making their customers leave with a smile”
“Riverton liquors has a great selection of sodas and drinks, much better and healthier options compared to 7-11 or most convenience stores! Glad I am in walking distance. They also have CBD drinks.”
“We were throwing an office pot and we needed to get a bunch of different vintage style bourbon liquor and vodka and a bunch of other assorted party favours and they really came through for us really provided all the convenience we needed to throw a great gathering plus it super convenient nearby strongly recommend plus easy parking make this a place in your community you can go to and enjoy it”
“In 1960/61, I worked at Standard Station # 3975 right accross the street from Circus Liquors. The gentleman, who was always there, I think was the owner by the name of "Vee Cyracuse". He knew a quite a bit about wines and used to recommend various wines to me. One that I can still remember was grey riesling. Connie Stevens and Linda Evenstad {to be "Evans"} frequented the gas station. I never chanced to wait on Connie Stevens but became aquainted with Linda who lived about 4 blocks away with her mother and half-brother on Oxnard St. Linda had a '55 Chevy 2-door hard top with white on top and blue on the bottom and Connie had one just like it with red on the bottom. Linda had a job as ticket girl at Growman's (sp?) Chinese Theater and I sometimes picked her up there after work and we went to her house and had TV dinners in the kitchen while her mother and half-brother sat watching TV a few feet away. That was the smallest house I've ever been in. It had two bedrooms and one bathroom. They converted part of the living room into a bedroom for her half-brother by stringing a sheet accross. I sometimes wonder whether the people who live there now have any idea that Linda Evans once lived there! Her bedroom was on the west side of the house and her mother's was on the east side with the bathroom in between. They strung another sheet accross that separated the living room from the front door where they had the TV. I still have the address book with her address and phone number in it but I won't give out the house number which might destroy the current owner's privacy! I haven't seen her since those days. It's kind of hard to keep up with somebody who makes $millions!”
“Dude hands down best liquor/market in the noho area. For me it's a danger going there everytime I don't care if it is in ghetto, that's my enemies hood but best believe that won't stop me. This is a fantastic place”
“Great! The three people who work here are very friendly and personable!!! I see reviews saying that the employees could come across as rude, but cmon, can you imagine the crazy people they have to deal with on a daily basis?! Once you get to know them they are really amazing people! I would recommend this place to anyone! They are a north Hollywood staple!”
“Nice family owned establishment. These guys have a little bit of everything when it comes to basic household essentials from toilet paper to pancake mix. Everything is a at a very affordable price point, not to mention, they have great hours -open at 6am and close at 11pm- also, there is almost ALWAYS a parking spot directly outside the stores front door. ??”
“This liquor store is the best. Clean, organized and has a little everything you need. Wonderful stuff that makes customers feel like a family.friendly staff. I fe”
“This is a local gem. You can find anything and everything here from rare liquor to household and construction tools. It's huge and selection is even bigger. Owner/cashiers are friendly and accommodating. Parking lot it big and convenient”
“The best self-service water station in the valley. It's $1 for a big 5 gallon container. Dude that works there is cool. The water also tastes good. When I come in to town from Santa Clarita I bring my water bottles to come here. I highly recommend.”
“I was surprised to find Bonterra, an organic wine, on their shelf, but was so happy they had it! Their selection could have been better, but little hidden gems like that make it stand out among stores like these.”
“Super kind guy. Only asks for you to wear mask. It’s okay tho, I guess I got 3 vaccines for nothing, but nice guy never the less, made good conversation about GoPro and made my experience great after having a horrible experience at the Mexican place next door. Don’t go there. Terrible service and even worse food. I’m not one to bash on places, but that place deserved it. Anyway, Sal’s Liquor was great! I’d recommend you stop by and get what you need, he has a huge variety of goods!”
“A real neighborhood lifeline.
I don’t get the bad reviews. This isn’t a giant grocery—it’s a small market that always saves my skin. If I forget bacon, eggs, milk, butter, cheese, or ice, they’ve got it. Onions, peppers, cucumbers, potatoes? Yep. Birdseed, firewood, charcoal, and the random stuff you don’t expect? Also there. They stay open late and run a tight, no-nonsense shop. I shop here frequently, and I don’t even drink alcohol.
Do they come off brusque sometimes? Maybe. But there’s a reason for the security glass. It’s L.A.—late hours, a park next door, and a steady trickle of sketchy characters. They’re watching the door, ringing you up, and keeping the place safe so the rest of us can get what we need. That’s not rude; that’s survival and good business. The shop keepers are always helpful and friendly, and I’ve never known them to be rude or discourteous. I’ve had my share of run-ins with aggressive homeless, and other unsavory types in this neighborhood, so it’s pragmatic for them to be wary.
Bottom line: when I need something in a pinch, this is where I go—because they actually have it. Grateful they’re here, and that someone braves the nonsense, and even danger, to be a great little corner market… We really appreciate you!”
“Sam is the best!
Unmatched customer service. He has what you are looking for.
Also if you did not know , he customizes special bottles for special occasions!”
“New owner, and he's quite a vibe. He did not have to be charming and kind but I guess if it's already happening, I'll allow it. Prices are great and I'm saying that knowing Ralph's is my spouse and Phil's is my sneaky link. Solid vibes. ”
“Excellent selection of products for a small place, including local food and drink products. Staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and recognizes regulars.”
“This review comes from the bottom of my heart. I’ve been going here consistently for a year, and refuse to go anywhere else because I’m so loyal to the staff here. Specially Lura (spelling?) and Emi. They have listened to me, comforted me, encouraged me, and loved on me and my fiance every time we come in (and our dog when she begs to come along). The selection is just right too — there’s a little bit of everything (they even have vapes, I think they were Flum which I’m a fan of). If it weren’t for their staff it would still be a good store, but their staff really makes it feel like a home. Whoever hired Lura and Emi, well done.”
“(Translated by Google) Very good service, small business and has everything you are looking for within reach for an emergency near our home. Small businesses must be supported.(Original)Muy buen servicio, pequeño el negocio y tiene de todo lo que busca al alcance para una emergencia sercas de nuestros domicilio. “Sunrise liquor has been the spot for me since 1996 when we moved to north Hollywood. They always have what ever beverage I'm looking for. The candy sometimes might be a little old but it's a liquor store not a candy shop. Friendly staff and a lot of good scratch off tickets as well.”
“Me and my partner come in here several times a week for everything from celebratory drinks to juices, sodas, ramen, chips, etc. They have a ton of stuff to choose from, and they are so helpful for suggesting new items to try! They got us onto glass bottle cokes and Buffalo Trace whiskey and we like the change! They are so friendly and wonderful here! We love this place!”
“He estado por aquiya un par de veces y la verdad que me pare e que este es un buen lugar donde puedes encontrar casi todo lo que puedas nesecitar, en un determinado momento cuando quizás no puedas o no estés en condición de ir hasta tu tienda regular... altamente recomendable muy autentico y surtido verdaderamente una tienda de conveniencia ???”
“Best store in NOHO! The staff is amazing and if they don't carry something you want just ask them and they will order it for you. They remodeled it recently looks great!”
“These guys are great they're out of my way to drive to but anytime I get delivery I always use these guys. They're fast and they have a low fee And just today They called and gave me options for things they didn't have”
“This might be one of the bougiest liquor stores I’ve ever seen.
If you have expensive taste in booze,
You will probably find what you want here.
They seem to focus on wine and spirits, hence their name , but I found some great craft beer options too.
They also appear to host tasting events, where folks can come up and sit around a bar to enjoy some liquid delights. I haven’t attended one, but I did see people hanging out there when I came by to pick up some brews.”
