“Every time I try to convince myself that I’m on a book-buying ban, I get pulled right into Womb House whenever I’m in the area. You’ll feel like you stepped into a turn of the 20th century time-capsule the moment you walk into the store. It’s really warm and inviting. As the name would suggest, you’ll find curated selections of mostly female authors. Although I did score some vintage copies of Freud and Lacan. 😍 The owner is really nice and personable and knows her stuff so she’d be able to give you good recommendations. Shout out to Jessica! 🙏”

“After having lunch at Fentons Creamery, my sister and I stopped in at this bookstore to browse. It is a used bookstore with vintage books, antiques, collectible items, record albums. This bookstore reminds me of two used bookstores that have closed several years ago - Holmes Bookstore in Oakland and Wilmot's Books in Alameda. Wonderful place to visit, browse and shop.”

“Date: 10/14/2023. Time:3:30 PM. 68°. Sunny My sister and I were searching for Chinese wedding envelopes. This book store had plenty of red envelopes. We decided to go with the gold instead of the red envelopes. For six envelopes, the price was $3.50. We were in and out of there in less than five minutes. The only item we could not find was a Chinese wedding card. We figured the gold envelope (money enclosed) was good enough to give my nephew and his bride-to-be their wedding gift. I'm just glad that we did not spend a lot of time shopping for those envelopes in Oakland Chinatown.”
