Absurdly long lines for retail checkout and pharmacy. No longer UPS Access Point. Does not accept sharps.

A very clean store I appreciate the cashier's help but they need more training on the nicotine product to help the customer when he points to it they're kind of not out of it but don't know their products are good all right that's it everything else is great.

A necessary evil. I could not hate this place more.
Dirty, filled with useless items nobody buys (greeting cards, candy, cheap toys). An armed-to-the-teeth security guard at the entrance who mostly stares at his phone all day. I go there to get my prescriptions, wait in a line that snakes through an isle of locked up crap.
They have kept the pandemic era plexiglass shields in place, but never clean the surfaces. You have to yell to make the pharmacy tech hear you through them. I feel vaguely sorry for those pharmacy technicians, they must hate their jobs. But I wish they didn’t have to punish all of us for that fact.
I have no doubt the medications being filled at CVS nationwide are the cheapest possible. But they have killed all the small pharmacies, so don’t have much choice. Wellspring Pharmacy down the street is its own level of hell.

Came to print photos. Made an online order in the afternoon to be picked up in the evening. When I came by to pick up my order the man said the machine was down and the order couldn't be processed. Didn't even give me any notifications, had I not gone there to check my order status I would've just been waiting around all day. Worst of all the man was extremely rude, deadpan and didn't even offer any assistance, just told me to call customer service to move my order to a different store. Horrible experience.

Came in for passport photos.
Went to the lady at the back of the store to ask and she said the machine is down…
So I said ok, can you tell me where the next cvs is where I can get them done, she says no.
Cool. So I searched for the next cvs with photo services which was the telegraph location. They took the picture with a point and shoot camera, so what machine was down at this location?

The pharmacist, Paul, tried to argue with me from the moment our call started, kept talking over me, and wouldn't listen to what I was saying. When I told him that's what he was doing, he gaslit me and said he wasn't doing that. I asked to talk to the manager and he said he was the manager. It's too bad because the pharmacist I've interacted with before at Portola is really great and helpful and Portola has always been good at refilling my prescriptions quickly. It's just this one pharmacist who is very argumentative and defensive.

I booked an appointment one week early and they cancelled on the same way of my appointment date without any reason

Incredibly difficult to shop here. The majority of items are behind a glass case, including simple things like toothpaste and Advil. There's also a clear lack of staff operating the whole store.

This is the best location that I go to do my CVS shopping. One of the reasons is the manager ( Samir ) he's there to help or asks a different employee to help when he's busy. The last time I actually was there with my wife waiting at the cosmetic department to get deodorants, right tgere he send us someone to help right away. That's why I keep coming to the same unit for my family needs and as an instacart shopper. When I have a batch with instacart I never hesitate like before since I know there's Samir to help or the employees who are free to serve. I find it hard and time consuming without their help. Thank you Samir, and thank you 41st street CVS team.

Pharmacy itself? Fine to good. They are overworked, and underpaid. Shoutout to my household's favorite pharmacist for solving most of our problems for five years solid.
The rest of the store is absurd though. Everything is getting put under lock and key. The front counters and door are closed. Presumably, prevention of theft is the cause, but it has made the store basically unusable. Last I checked, they simply did not have cosmetics anymore. Are they going out of business? Are they just installing more locking displays? Whatever.
Shoutout to the overworked pharmacy staff.
