Brother Benno's Thrift Shop, located at 3955 Mission Avenue in Oceanside, California, offers a wide selection of secondhand treasures, including clothing for adults and children, furniture, and home goods. The store is well-organized and clean, providing a welcoming environment for shoppers. It features a kids’ section, a book collection, and a food pantry for homeless people, highlighting its dedication to supporting the community beyond just selling items. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff, with some noting the helpfulness of employees who enhance their shopping experience. Customers have found the store to have fair prices and a large variety of furniture, making it a good place for both casual shoppers and professionals like realtors who need furniture for house staging. However, recent changes to the pricing strategy have caused some concern. Historically, the store held a monthly sale offering 50% off everything, including furniture, but now prices are higher and more complicated, making it harder for customers to understand what is on sale. Some shoppers find the new pricing confusing and feel it detracts from the store’s mission of affordability and simplicity. Despite this, many still find good deals, especially when shopping during sales posted on Facebook or the store’s whiteboard. Overall, Brother Benno’s Thrift Shop is a community-oriented store with a friendly atmosphere, a diverse selection of items, and a mission to support those in need. While some pricing changes have been met with mixed feelings, it remains a popular spot for affordable secondhand finds and community support.
Pleasantly surprised to find such a well-organized thrift store! They clearly care about the items they sell and they do a great job of displaying them. Some prices are a little higher than other national chains, but it's such a relaxing shopping experience that I stop here first before going elsewhere.

Moved back into the area, and was glad to see them still there. Picked up living room and bedroom furniture, and had it delivered. Staff was the friendliest, and just a very positive experience.
