⚠️ STAY FAR AWAY FROM EXTRA SPACE STORAGE (4705 N River Rd, Oceanside, CA)
This company is deceptive and untrustworthy. I signed a rental agreement thinking the price we agreed on was locked in. That’s what a contract is for — right? Wrong. They charged me $100 more than agreed with no notice whatsoever. Just quietly took the money from my account like I wouldn’t notice.
This is not just a price hike — it’s a breach of good faith and a deliberate trap built into their contract. There’s fine print that lets them raise your rent for any reason, even after you’ve signed. So the price you agree to means nothing. And if you don't catch it, they’ll just keep charging you more and more.
This is manipulation, not business.
💬 I never got an email, a call, a letter — nothing. They just raised the price and hoped I wouldn’t catch it.
If you're considering renting here, ask yourself:
👉 Do you want to do business with a company that can legally raise your rate behind your back?
👉 Do you want to sign a contract where your price means nothing?
I will never rent from them again, and I strongly urge others to stay away.
🛑 Read the fine print. Don’t get tricked like I did.
The company responded to this message and DID NOTHING. They keep charging me more than was agreed.

Just started using the storage today and Ericka was super helpful and accomodating. Took me on a quick tour to show my storage location. The storage was clean and easy to access.

I rented a space here for my boat and after 4 months decided to close my account because rates were over $260 for a 20ft boat. I walked in and requested to close my account and manager Erica said she would close my account and credit me the last 2 weeks since I was closing early. 2 weeks later I received a bill, she never closed my account and I never got a refund. Spoke with her on the phone and she said she forgot and didn't recall talking to me. She lied, she remembered and just didnt want to admit that she dropped the ball. Never offered to to.fix anything and didnt even apologize, Will never use Extra space Storage again!!!

Got there right at closing time but thankfully Rob was nice enough to help me. He took me directly to my new storage unit. Showed me around the facility and gave me a tour of our new unit.

From start to finish, extra space storage was amazing. The man I talked to on the phone to get the booking process started was helpful, friendly, honest, and down to earth. The storage unit itself was clean and ready to go, and they even had a lock waiting for us when we got there.Ericka, at the place I stored my car for a month, Was always kind, friendly, helpful, and downright amazing! Highly recommend this company for any and all storage needs.
