First vehicle I received hadn’t been cleaned at all. Second vehicle, after I returned first and waited 1/2 hr for cleaning had minimal cleaning and only 3/4 tank of gas. When I returned I was asked how rental was and brought up these 2 issues and then subject was quickly changed with any acknowledgment that I had actually stated I had issues, so they obviously just don’t care. This location does not meet the standards any regular hertz renter would expect from this brand

Extremely disappointed with the customer service at Hertz.
My rental was supposed to be fully covered through my vehicle warranty company, yet I have been unable to reach anyone at Hertz who can resolve the billing issue. Despite multiple attempts, no one has followed up or provided assistance.
To make matters worse, I never received an itemized final invoice, which has made it impossible to clarify the charges.
The Oceanside branch is also severely understaffed — I’ve had to wait over 30 minutes several times just to pick up or drop off a vehicle.
For a company of Hertz’s size, this level of service is unacceptable. I hope someone from corporate will reach out to help resolve this matter promptly.

Please use lots of your vacation time and read the agreement very carefully before you sign this rental agreement, maybe even take your personal lawyer along with you so you can understand the contract as well as they do ,or simply go to another vehicle rental and enjoy your vacation.
We trusted the counter staff and didn't read the rental agreement carefully. Their unusual rental charges surfaced upon return.
We are very experienced with vehicle rentals and never have been charged with these additional charges in state of California.

Impossible to get them on the phone to arrange return of car leased at San Diego airport. Never again.

They are allergic to answering their phone, and seemingly unable to get the cars that you need.

I rented a car through Expedia, months ago. I went to the Oceanside location to pick it up and the line was out the door! They did not have any cars!! I waited for 2 hours and finally called Expedia and got a refund! Never, ever again!

I've been renting many cars from Hertz this time I picked up the car that was never even cleaned on the inside or out the car was filthy I drove the car for 5 days took it back and now they're hitting me with a cleaning charge and a smoking charge The vehicle had 19,000 miles on it and they're going to say it has a new carcinoma and I'm smoking in it , I don't smoke in their cars and I didn't have to make much of a mess with the car was filthy when I got it

the help is rude stood there 10 mins before I said something.. then they snapped back .. on the phone.. no greeting when entered ignored untill I said something.. car was dirty and instead at least whiping it down excuse was they don't have water.. when I returned the car and told the about the problem they really didn't care and wanted to get done with job.. not a hood place to visit

Rented a Tesla and came an hour early to get it, got the car on 10% and waited over an hour. Was late to get to where I needed to be because I had to stop to charge it. The car was dirty as trash was still left all over it and wasn’t cleaned after I agreed to wait for it to be cleaned. Management wasn’t professional. Very disappointed

Terrible experience, front desk lady was extremely rude and offered no help with the rented vehicle issues we had . Wasted a ton of time going to this hertz location ,this place did not answer there phones as many other locations did the same .

Please do not book here. The low rating is indicative of the experience. They accept rentals even when they do not have cars available.

was told I could return car early and get a diffrence refunded . retuned car a week early for a 2 week rental . was told to call hertz company for refund. hertz claimed I don't get a refund.
do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!! they will rip you off.

I made a reservation for a car for pickup today. I went to pick it up and they didn't have the car. But they did have a larger car for an extra 15 dollars a day.. such a scam.

Horrendous. Waited 1.5 hours (with reservation). One employee doing everything. Did not have the car I reserved (electric) and only offered gas cars, so was stuck with a gas bill too. Employee had nothing to say (I’m sure she deals with this constantly). Horribly run.
