Mina Gibson is the best. She is patient, friendly and creative. She listens to all my hair needs and checks in after my service to make sure I am happy with everything. She is always willing to work with me which I greatly appreciate. My mom comes from LA to see her! Bonus: she gives the best scalp massage after washes I highly recommend her for all your hair needs, you wont be disappointed

I always have Tabatha do my hair. I followed her from the other salon because she's the most sweetest person I've ever known. She has such a great eye and intuition to know what you are looking for. She's so courteous, friendly, professional, and so kind. When she cut my hair, I feel very relaxed and feeling pretty. I am looking forward to see her again very soon. Thank you Tabatha!

Great haircut by Jessica. Sweet, honest, and great hair advice. I came in open minded for a simple trim and she went above and beyond my expectations. Brought out the natural color of my hair without any actual coloring!

Talk about a “hidden gem”! This place is fantastic! Clean, professional, focused, fun, and actually reasonably priced. Studio 514 is one of the best kept secrets in the San Diego area. Every time I get my hair done here I come out feeling so beautiful, new & getting compliments for days. The staff here is exceptionally talented. I tried to book a first appointment with Mina. She texted me at work wanted a list of thing. Pretty typical. However, my day was busy and she said that she would wait until the evening before giving up my spot. An hour later my appointment was canceled. Disappointed

Tabitha was amazing! Went in for a haircut to start the new year and she made me super comfortable in the chair, no rushing at all. Very fairly priced as well for her time and skill :)

Mina cut both my husband and my hair and we are both very particular about our haircuts. Mina did a great job. Totally recommend her. You will not be disappointed. She is on time and doesn't double book clients which is my pet peeve.

This is my second time seeing Mina after a very bad hair experience prior. I came to her with 6 months of roots and some choppy "layers". I know blonde is a process so wasn't expecting to walk out with exactly want I wanted especially in recovery from hair trauma. But I DID! Mina didn't use any BLEACH! She uses a clay lightener. Which I'll admit, I'm never going back to the bleach component after all this. Mina identified my hair type, texture, POROSITY!! And went to work! We've decided no toner for my hair, I just look better with sun-kissed golds. She really means trim when she trims your hair. Doesn't try to take 4 inches from you. Every head is different but there's no doubt Mina will figure yours out. The salon is very clean, all the girls are very nice. I did happen to see Mina cutting a young man's hair as well.

If you're looking for a professional stylist who is down to earth and very friendly, Mina is your gal! She's always made me feel comfortable and has been super accommodating. Not once have I felt pressured into getting a cut or color. She's very knowledgeable and after listening to my wants, she gave options and always explained what she was doing. Every time I've seen her, for cuts or color or just touch ups, I've been very pleased. And I just like her style! I highly recommend her.

My first salon haircut and color since before Covid! During Covid my hair had taken on a life of its own. Unrestrained, messy long witch hair. My husband cut my hair after the first year using the "ponytail" haircut method - so popular on social media. I was using Garnier Nutrisse hair color in a box. I love the relaxed vibe of Studio 514. It's like a remodeled house with different rooms, nice big windows to let in the light. Melissa was able to see me right away. She took off about 4 inches of my straw-like unhealthy hair, colored and styled. I felt transformed! I appreciate that Melissa stayed late to take care of me.
