Took my fur baby here when he had an accident and hurt his paw. Thankful for them being understanding when I was crying and didn't know what was going on. Will always go back here for my fur babies needs!

The one star is for the girl who explained the three options for my cat who is having problems urinating, I chose the $600+ option instead of the $800 for a blood and urine sample this was at 9:00am. They asked if I could leave my cat for a couple hours due to the fact she didn’t have a full bladder so I agreed. My cat was there from 9am until 5:30pm and they never got a urine sample after trying with the needle twice supposedly. I asked why they didn’t just utilize a catheter to gain a sample, the girl explained they would have to anesthetize her in order to do that. That’s fine with me but they are not progressive thinkers in the Oceanside VCA on Benet Road. So I pick her up pay over $200 and am going over my bill and I see they never did a blood test after she was there for over 8 hours. Her blanket in her carrier they stuck her in was soaked with alcohol and she was inhaling it for however long they had her in there. It seems they have no idea what the word CARE means. Steer clear of this hospital due to the lack of care. Go to ALL PETS ANIMAL HOSPITAL

Dr. Shah did an amazing job with my two kittens spay/neuter. They healed even quicker than the office told us to expect, and seemed to be in absolutely no pain after we brought them home from the procedure. Less than a few weeks after the fact it would be difficult to tell they’ve even had surgery. The staff was really communicative and made me feel like my two babies were in great hands. Although the procedures may be considered a tad pricey, it truly was worth it to see the quick recovery and lack of pain my little ones had.

The Absolute worse vet & staff possible. They aren’t knowledgeable in reptiles (told me to soak a chameleon first red flag) what so ever and extremely hard to work with, don’t even waste your time with their extremely high prices and poor care for your animal.

I was very satisfied with our 1st visit to VCA. Walking in with our mini golden doodle not knowing what was wrong with her, waiting in the lobby just watching the staff as they came to out greet each canine/cat was so reassuring. They came out smiling, patient and showed compassion for the animals. I knew she would be in good hands. Very clean and has good air ventilation.

We came here after Encinitas shut down and loved it! We got excellent care from Stephanie. She took the time to answer every question about our cat, demonstrate how to administer medication, check her harness fitting, micro-chip, and get calming spray. Stephanie's patience with our million questions was amazing. Each staff member we met was friendly and kind. The facilities were clean, organized, and in great condition. Thank you VCA for keeping our pet safe and giving us peace of mind!

Our previous Vet Clinic was VCA Encinitas but they suddenly closed up and merged with VCA Oceanside. My dog was running very low on her Apoquel prescription. Vetsource wouldn't refill it without my dog having her annual well-dog exam, so I tried to get her one here. I called VCA Oceanside and they said that their nearest appointment was over 10 days out. I asked if they were willing to partially renew my dog's prescription to get her by until that new appointment. This is something that the good people at VCA Encinitas have offered on a couple of occasions when a prescription runs out before it can be fully refilled from VetsourceBut VCA Oceanside was completely inflexible about it. Even though they had my dog's records and could see her full medical history at VCA Encinitas, they wouldn't do it. Naturally - rather than letting my dog go without her prescription I went elsewhere - Banfield - got a timely appointment, got the Rx and was most pleased by them. Also - it took two calls before VCA Oceanside would email my dog's records to me. One star and disrecommended ! I hope whatever staff that transferred from VCA Encinitas are able to find a better employer.

Boarded my two Large Dogs for a week with Mission Animal and Bird Hospital. It's a real hassle to jump through the hoops to get your dogs boarded with this Vet. I Agree on the Rabies and Bordatella (Kennell Cough) Vaccines. The Flu ones are just not necessary. They did the 1st injection for the Flu and both my dogs are still limping from the first injection. They were supposed to get their second the day they came in for boarding to complete the set required. Not sure they followed through. My paperwork still shows they did not get either injection. I requested Rimadyl for my Mastiff. This order has sat in their system over a week. I called and asked if I can come and pick up the prescription. I was told the Vet has not approved it yet and they would call me back. So I asked again at pick up from Boarding.....have they finished the prescription. They said they need to do bloodwork. Why am I pissed! They had my dogs boarded for a week and did not text me they needed to check her blood. They said they could give me a few week's worth but would have to bring her back in to get the blood sample. My dogs came from extreme abuse cases and are not the most social. Getting them to the vet for checks is hard. The Vet talked me into doing sedation of two Meds. Had to pay additional charges just to have them administer said Meds. My Pitty did not do well on the meds. His eyes turned red and he shook. Folks! It cost over 1 Grand just to put the dogs in for a week! Here's the kicker. They promise an exit bath. When I called the grooming line to check if they were ready for pick up. I was greeted with a recording....It stated they are only open Monday & Wednesday. Tuesday I picked up my dogs. The staff told me due to their unpredictable behavior they could not bath them. Next time be honest and upfront and let your customers know you don't provide this service. I used to take my dogs to the Animal Keeper. They know how to handle Large Dogs. I wish they were closer. Now I see trying to stay close to home was a mistake. The Animal Keeper never had to sedate my dogs. Now I am looking for a new Vet. You know. They never sent a text on how they were doing. No surprise the Vet could not be bothered with my dogs meds or Update my dogs Vaccination information. Hope you get better service than I have.

Extremely upset! I scheduled an appointment a month in advance for my cat to get two of her yearly shots. They were out of one of the shots. Taking my cat to the vet is very stressful on her, and now she has to go back again for the second shot. Also, now I have to take even more time off of work, which isn’t easy. Once she gets this second shot, I will be finding a new vet. Do NOT waste your time on this place!**update- the response by the business is ridiculous, the email address provided in their response is full. So I guess they don’t actually want to hear legitimate concerns from their clients

I adopted a kitten at the humane society and I was offered a free first time visit here at the VCA off Benet Road. I get to my 10:30 am appointment and they told me my appointment was moved to 12pm. I wasn't notified, I don't have any missed calls or voice-mails from them asking me to move my appointment. They double booked and moved my appointment without any notice, now I'm stuck waiting in the lobby it's been 30 minutes and I have yet to be seen. This is very unprofessional and I will not be returning to this place who clearly doesn't have good business practice.

the staff made me feel that my cat was in very good hands. they took their time explaining everything to me, sending me an invoice through email and going through the price on the phone as well, and the doctor spoke to me was my cat was ready to be discharged giving me a lot of information on how to care for my cat during her recovery. it was pricey however i didn’t mind as they saw my cat almost immediately and were very helpful. would recommend 10/10

This 5 star review is for Stephanie and the attending Vet who took exceptional care of my Siberian Husky, Chloe and I during Chloe's annual wellness visit. I couldn't locate the name of the attending vet through my VCA portal. If there is a response to this review from the VCA staff, please do mention her name as she significantly stands out from the other vets and deserves the spotlight too.Stephanie assisted the Vet and went over and beyond to fulfill her job specifications. She is friendly, calm and patient. Her communication is impeccable as through her assessment of the client at hand, will customize the education needed to ensure your pups health is on the path to optimal performance. The same can be said about the attending vet.Stephanie and the attending vet are great examples of professionals who grant high quality unbiased care towards the pup all whilst educating their owner, as it should be with any professional in any establishment regardless of the job at hand.Post treatment, I sat back down in the waiting room and waited to be checked out. Another staff member in the front desk seemed confused as to the order to attend clients with the inclusion of being unsure of the order to their system (our check out bag was placed in the checkout shelf but she was unsure of the interpretation of their internal system). Needless to say, after 15 mins of still waiting, Stephanie initiated a solution by exceeding her job requirements. She picked up the bag, checked us out, and even booked Chloes next resort stay even though she is not part of the front desk staff.I mean if Stephanie isn't jack of all trades and more than fulfilling her job expectations, then I guess I don't know a thing or two about extraordinary customer service.Anyhow, thank you Stephanie for your work! Your light and efforts didn't go unnoticed! You're a true inspiration of what others should aspire to be, a true reflection of outstanding human character!

Love this place, they always take such good care of my pets. I've been coming here for a while. They are compassionate and efficient. Dr. Bernal and Dr. Litwatis are practical and thoughtful.Sway and Analies are my favorites in getting things done. Sway has no problem stopping what he is doing, answering any questions that I might pop up with. And I cannot say enough about the front desk staff, super friendly and willing to help. Alicia at the front desk always takes a moment if shes not busy for a quick chat, updates on my 3 pets and always seems to have an interest in the animals around her.The only negative is they do not have overnight emergency services, Carlsbad is the only place close enough at night.
