The location is great, the room was clean. I would've given this place 4/5, except they put us above the laundry room and we were awoken both days at 8:30am by a loud humming and vibrations through the walls that didn't stop until after we left for the day. There was no AC, just a fan, and the heat from the laundry room made our room VERY hot during the day (around 96 degrees). It took us most of the evening to cool it off.
I get that you need to do laundry, but if it's that loud you should be waiting until after guests leave.

I never write reviews but It’s simple, this place sucks. Room was dated (maybe last renovated in the 80s), it was tiny with small closet, and it did not feel clean. You know it’s like that surface clean you do when you don’t live in a place, that’s how it felt. The bathroom was terrible. Stayed in room #100 which next to the office. Did I say it was tiny? We never felt comfortable staying in the room and just slept there and get the hell out. We booked 3 nights but only stayed for two nights. Id rather lose the money then stay another night.
We only chose this place because it’s dog friendly. But, we made a big mistake choosing this one. There are other dog friendly places near this one so it’s in your best interest to choose somewhere else
I just don’t understand places like this. It was fully booked when we were there and I’m sure it’s fully booked all summer. Why don’t the owners just put a little effort to make the rooms comfortable and perhaps pay someone to do a tiny bit of lawn maintenance. It’s like the owners just don’t care anymore and prefer to let this place get rundown as long as it makes them money. It’s a shame because they are in a great location. I highly don’t recommend this place.

Beautiful place. Location is excellent. Near the beach, has a Seattle feel and atmosphere. Dog friendly. The rooms are beautiful, quaint cottages. The downside, the sheets are dingy, not bright white, the room smells like they mopped with dirty water and didn't bother to add any lavender detergent, obviously they didn't clean because I found ants scouting for food.

Only thing that we, we and the entire motel was unhappy with, to my knowledge, was the security alarms going off for 20 minutes very loudly for no reason around 9 o'clock at night. And we weren't even offered a discount. This apparently happened the night before also, but at 1 A.M.

Reached out directly to this company 2 times for reimbursement and have been expressly ignored.
We are extremely disappointed and unsatisfied with our experience. The motel is cute from the outside but very dingy and dirty on the inside. We had a musty and smelly room that smelled like old lady perfume. The shower was all that we used and the tub backed up with about 3 inches during our showers. The thermostat on the wall didn't work. The room was very hot and stuffy. We had no Wi-Fi at all the entire time. I went into the office to inquire about it and the girl just said that it has been acting up all day. We had been without Wi-Fi for 3 days because we had been inside National Parks. We needed it badly for directions and maps. We were so upset by the room that we just slept in our RV for the night instead of the room. In all honesty nothing about the room felt clean. I tried requesting some sort of reimbursement for this stay but clearly this company would rather see bad reviews than resolve issues. I do not feel this room was worth what I paid.

For a 2 star hotel, we weren’t expecting much, just a place to lay our heads down after exploring Monterey. We were met with a seamless check-in experience, and the coziest cottage. Clean, comfortable, and amazing location. Our room had beautiful high ceilings and beams, with a fireplace and perfect sized kitchenette. Very comfortable beds. You could walk to the beach, and it’s an easy (and scenic) drive to anywhere in Carmel or Monterey. Highly recommend this affordable and convenient lodging option!!!

Great location, room was clean, heater worked, and staff was friendly. Can’t ask for much more. Only thing that could have been improved was numbered parking in front of the rooms so it wasn't a free for all at night. Not a problem for myself but possibly for others with mobility issues. Overall great stay!

Good for one night, but we definitely won't be coming back. Great location, large & clean bathroom, microwave and coffee maker.
We stayed in a small double room, and it was indeed very small, a bit old, and didn't feel completely clean. Our stay was at the end of September, and the room was cold, with no air conditioning. The girl at the reception couldn't recommend any places to eat in the area:(

The rooms do not have Air conditioning which really isn't needed. however you have to leave your windows open to get cool air and hear every noise outside. Otherwise room was clean and in good condition.
No breakfast as promised, not good for diabetics that depend on it.

Soooo cute.... front desk help was amazing...cute little place...quiet and as a smoker .. greatly appreciated the outdoor area away from the rooms to just sit and enjoy the beauty. Very well kept . My one issue was the exhaust fan in the restroom..as it gets very misty during the shower. I can live with it... because I will be returning to stay!

We didn't spend much time in the room, but it was very comfortable and had all we needed which was quick access to the beach, a small breakfast which was coffee, sliced cake, fruit and yogurt and the sounds and smells of being near the ocean. Highly recommended!

Pros:
-The location is beautiful, only about a 5 min drive to the coast.
-the rooms are clean and spacious
-very dog friendly, even has a small dog park.
-complimentary cereal, coffee, and oats in the office.
-very quiet (outside) you can even hear the ocean.
-cute little fire pit
Cons:
-The dog park has foxtails, overgrown grass, and dirt mounds. Upkeep is not great.
-the walls are paper thin, and you can hear absolutely everything in the room next door.
- the fireplace was left on when we arrived and there were no instructions on how to turn it off.
-light bulbs were out in the bathroom.
-The bathroom has a large window facing the parking lot, feeling a bit like a lack of privacy
-1 handicapped parking spot which they do not enforce and allow whomever to park there.
-The staff is extremely unprofessional and can't handle challenges properly.
My mother is handicapped and does have a handicap placard to be able to park in designated handicap spots. Upon arrival at 8:00 p.m., the parking spots were taken in front of our apartment. Including the handicap stall which was taken by a car with no handicap placard. When I called the front desk in the morning I spoke to a gentleman, to just notify them that they had someone parking illegally in the handicap spot. To which he replied it's a little dicey, which was one of the most ridiculous and unprofessional answers I've ever had about the issue at hand. She proceeded to tell me that if there are no parking spots available people can park wherever they want. Regardless of whether handicapped or not. To which I replied this is not just a reserved spot this is a spot that has to be open by law to handicapped people. To which you reply again while it's a little dicey that evening the same car parked in the handicap stall not leaving a spot open for my mother. So I decided to go to the front desk in person and notify the same gentleman I spoke to that morning. I don't think I've ever witnessed somebody so unqualified and untrained to handle any type of situation. This gentleman told me to my face again that it was a little dicey. And let me know that he was not going to request for these people to move. Upon trying to speak to him he continuously kept answering the phone without acknowledging me standing in front of him. When he would answer the phone he became more agitated and started to become rude to the people on the other end. I decided to walk out and while I was in my vehicle getting ready to leave for the day, a woman came up to me with a handheld house phone and simply said here it's the manager. In a very rude and condescending way. I spoke to the manager and he proceeded to tell me that the property is private and that the handicap is not enforced. To which again I replied letting them know that by law it has to be occupied by a handicap placard, or valid proof of handicap. Then he notified me that each room should have a designated parking spot and the person parked in the handicap is in a handicap room. I notified them that if that's the case then they should have a handicap placard up on their car. Because if any type of enforcement came they would be fine. When we arrived back in the evening around 9:00 p.m. we noticed a notice in the handicapped stall stating reserved for the room that we were occupying. The resolution to the situation was handled so poorly that we will not be returning to this location, unfortunately. And due to the negligence and unprofessionalism of the team and the manager, this is only going to be getting two stars. It would have gotten one star if it wasn't for us enjoying the environment and how convenient it was to the beach.

Adorable place. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Customer service was amazing, the rooms were very clean. A 5 minute walk away from the ocean and about 10 minute drive from Cannery Row. I will be returning.

Unreserved recommendation. Wonderfully located in Pacific Grove. A little away from the hustle and bustle of Monterey. Short drive to downtown Pacific Grove. There is everything you need there. Short walk through a residential area to the beach.
Close proximity to 17 Mile Drive.
Walkability: Walk to Pacific Grove Beach.
