I had a great experience. The car was a little small for me (6” 210lbs). We drove from California to Mississippi and there was a lot of rain. I found out that it is cheaper to get a rental from outside the airport. Hope this helps anyone renting a car in the future.

Just be aware..They lie about how much of a deposit is being taken hold from your account. Justin at the palm springs rental desk said $200 but later I checked my account it was $583!!It's not right for them to take what ever amount they want!I know it will be returned. It's my money!Make sure to see what it says on your receipt in the fine print.Which at signing Justin never mentioned he was charging me this amount!!I'm still waiting for my deposit of my money to be put back into my account.12/28/23Which I returned Wednesday 27th..

No matter how nice the person at the counter is, they are running a scam. I already had my car rental paid for from a 3rd party and told them I did not need their insurance or road side assistance (I have it through my credit card and AAA) but they billed me for it anyway. Because they said this was an estimate and was for similar cost to what I paid online, I assumed it was already paid for and signed all their paperwork so I could get the car (it was after midnight and we just wanted to get to the hotel and had already been standing in line forever and there were even more people waiting). Just saw my credit card statement that they billed me for the second time and when I called to dispute it they said I had signed their agreement. Such a shady scam and business!

Flying into Palm Springs over the Thanksgiving long weekend. We were greeted by Linda, a very helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable Thrifty representative.Linda set a great tone for our Palm Springs driving getaway!

Just picked up my car at Thrifty. Linda was super helpful and kind and the check in was fast and efficient, she also hooked me up with a really great car! The price for a 6 week rental was the best I found as well. Thank you!

Heather at Thrifty Car Rental at Palm Springs Airport scammed us into paying an additional $414 for insurance and "premium road service" when we specifically stated we did not need coverage. This nearly doubled the cost of our rental. Thrifty customer service was not willing to help at all. Avoid these scammers at all cost.

The absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with. They charged us multiple times and charged us for insurance after we said we did not want it. We paid over $1000 for a car rental that was supposed to be $620. No one helps you on the phone and when you request to talk to someone in particular they send you all over the place. I was given a random persons cell phone number who had no idea what I was calling about…. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

9/17/2023 noon: Heather at the pick up counter is a ray of sunshine. Such a pleasant experience after a long flight to be greeted with great customer care.Heather is incredibly attentive and efficient: updating all customers in line with ETAs to service.What a great way to start a vacation. Thank you.Will update this review post car rental/return.9/23/2023 update:Discovered an old Chinese food container from a previous renter under the seat... Ewwww. Maybe Thrifty cleaning staff can look a little closer when cleaning between renters.

Beware that their return process does not require handing in or droping off the car keys in a box. this is unlike any other car rental I have used in the past. I was asked to just leave the keys in the car and I forgot. The manager called me to say that I had to either send the keys overnight(!) or I'd be charged $250 USD.I tried both Fedex and Purolator and both would take at least 4 days and cost approx. $100.The manager was pretty rude to me and said there was no other options and that there was only 1 set of keys!This is a flaw in the rental return process so I wanted to make note of it so others do not end up in my situation1 week update: My credit card is charged for $350 CAD for the car keys. This is more than the flight ticket I paid to get home.

Once again in Palm Springs Airport , CA, we did not get the car we reserved. In our many trips there, regardless of the reservation I've made, we never get the car we signed up to rent for the 7 day period we're in the desert. Sadly, no matter what time we arrive at this airport, this is always the case. This time, a 2019 SUV with 53,000 miles was what we were given. We've gotten to expect this disappointment at any car rental agency in Palm Springs, CA. There are no good choices at this location.

Thrifty Car Rental at Palm Springs Airport was really wonderful. Michael at the counter was amazing ! He gave us a really good upgrade rate for a really nice car. He also explained to us the coverage protection and which one would be best for us. We were really nervous about driving such a nice car on California highways. But Michael put us at ease. We will be renting from Thrifty Again!

Save yourself the grief. This is the most unprofessional place I have ever encountered. We refused the daily upgrade special after patiently waiting for over an hour for the car that we booked. Micheal the guy who was on the counter got mad at us and got very very rude because we would not upgrade as we were sticking to our budget and the car that we had already prepaid for. He wouldn't even give us instructions on how to return the vehicle, he was so rude. I gave feedback survey for this horrid way to begin our vacation and the manager said he would send us a voucher to try them again which we never recieved and now he is ignoring my emails back to him. Never felt so bad in my life for not upgrading. Bunch of rude greedy people. This was in June 2023.

1.5 hour wait to pick up car keys. I have read other reviews and seems like 1.5 hours is standard wait time. At drop off, I left my new hat in the car, went back 5 minutes later and it was gone. I can only presume that an employee stole it. I filed a lost claim and the hat never showed up.
