Tom @ Velotech is the best bike mechanic on the peninsula, bar none. Great service and always top craftsmanship. He's definitely a "bike whisperer" who can solve just about any noise, tick, clack or rub. Great bike builds as well. Recommend without hesitation.

Great shop nice people! Much better than that Palo Alto Bicycles weakness down the street. Awesome inventory and friendly service. Avoid the other place come here!

Best bike shop in the area. Tom is a master mechanic; often a bike repair starts with “there’s a click” or “it sounds like it’s coming from the rear.” Tom will take the bike for a spin and listen, diagnose, and narrow down the possibilities until he nails it. The shop is busy, but when you need your bike they’ll find a way to get you back on the road. Mark is a careful bike fitter and product recommender. These guys use their experience and customer discussion to find you the right gear. They built me a set of wheels that haven’t needed truing in 20,000 miles. They carry mostly high-end brands of clothing, bikes, and gear, but you can find quality at value as well. Don’t bother if you’re looking for cheap bargain brand stuff.

By far the best road bike service experience I've had in the area. It was easy to schedule, priced about the same as other shops, but Tom's care and focus went above and beyond. Highly recommend if you have a bike you care about.

I needed an emergency high skilled mechanic work on my wheel and Tom fixed my problem perfectly in addition of being a very nice guy. I have a lot of experience dealing with bike mechanics (unfortunately most of them pretty bad) and I can tell I was impressed by his quality of work and skills. It's really nice to have local bike shops who are real specialist and very friendly at the same time and they should be supported. Velo Tech is the perfect example!

Tom is the premier Campagnolo expert in Northern California, bar none. I was referred to VeloTech by a very close and longtime friend who has gone to their shop for many years with his Campy equipped bikes. I had a unique problem with a Motobecane Le Champion disc with a carbon fiber frame with a Campagnolo Record 11 groupset and H 11 brakes. The brakes were rubbing in the front and back because the mounts on the frame were uneven. I had techs from 3 other shops look at it before I wised up and brought it to Tom at VeloTech. Tom faced the mounts on the frame and added a shim for the rear mount. He also changed up the rotor to accommodate my weight. My bike rides like the wind now without any brake rub! Yes, Tom is truly the paramount Campagnolo expert in Northern California. He's a great guy, super friendly, and his prices are incredibly reasonable. He's also a fellow hardcore Giants fan!!! It's a honor watching this man work and witnessing his depth of experience and knowledge. He's like a mad scientist with a bike, capable of solving any problem. He is a true expert, and a man whose love for bikes and cycling is real and genuine. VeloTech is now my go to bike shop and Tom is my go to bike tech!!!

I highly recommend taking your bike here for service. I was in a fairly bad bike accident and my bike was definitely a bit banged up. I took it into Tom at Velo Tech. He was great!! Tom did a safety check and went over everything with me. He did not talk down to me. He fixed everything and got me back on the road for a very reasonable price. Mark was also super friendly and came and introduced himself. You can feel great giving this shop your business! They are trustworthy, friendly, thorough and don't gouge you.

Phenomenal staff. Helped ensure my bike was ready on a tight deadine. Knowledgeable and friendly. I've been to many bike shops in the last 25 years, and this could be one of the best.

Highly recommended for a walk-in service. Price is reasonable. I had taken my bike to Menlo Velo (another local store) for a derailleur tune up. They had recommended a $300+ fix and suggested it's better to buy a new bike. VeloTech did the derailleur tune up for $20!!!! Menlo Velo is no longer in business. Disappointing, but I'm glad I found VeloTech.

I really wish I could give more stars. I have been a patron of Velotech for quite some time. First, when I was buying my first road bike - Mark was so patient with me and all of my questions. Furthermore, he would not just answer, but he would teach in his response. When the time came and I finally decided to buy a Bianchi Infinito, he took the time to teach me how to ride with drop bars and did my first ever bike fitting. I felt like that bike was an extension of my body - it just fit.A few years after the Bianchi was sadly stolen from our home, Mark helped me think through what the replacement bike would be based on learnings from riding my Bianchi. Due to COVID stock shortages at the time, I could not purchase another Bianchi. I did, however, get the opportunity to buy a Pinarello Paris that Mark matched me with. I have been SO HAPPY with this bike. Considering how well matched these bikes were to me tells me that Mark knows his stuff.Mark and Tom provide STELLAR customer service and you can tell it is coming from a place of 1) love of bikes and 2) love of community. You just can't find this elsewhere - trust me, I've been to so many bike shops in the Bay Area over the years. I never feel like a customer walking into Velotech - I feel like more than that as being part of the biking community and that is from how Mark and Tom run the shop. Also - many thanks to Tom in answering my bike questions! They are quite the team and I look forward to my next visit!

We purchased a bike from Mark at Velo Tech. Mark was so incredibly helpful and responsive to all of our requests. He went above and beyond to make sure my husband was well prepared for his coastal bike trip. Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and an all-around nice guy. We'd definitely recommend checking him out for bikes and accessories.
