Howard Johnson by Wyndham Pasadena offers clean, decent-sized, and well-maintained rooms with wonderfully comfortable new beds and newer floors. The rooms are nicely decorated and have pretty decent showers. Guests report great and excellent service, with friendly and helpful staff. The location is ideal for some, being somewhat secluded yet near local amenities. However, parking can be challenging and the property can be a little noisy due to a neighboring business. The limited breakfast includes items like cereal, pastries, fruit, and noodles, though some note it is not a full service. The WiFi speed is often reported as very slow. Despite some minor issues with check-in procedures and breakfast expectations, many guests highly recommend this hotel for its cleaner, nicer rooms and more comfortable beds compared to nearby options, stating they would definitely stay again.
This is my second time staying here at HJ and although my 1st time was amazing, this time was Excellent. Saiman was wonderful .. he was so much help to my and my guest.. I recommend HJ to any and everyone who visits Pasadena, CA.

Update: I enjoy staying here. Beds were comfy and the shower was pretty decent. The only dislike is they don't serve breakfast, although they advertise it, they only have cereal and pastries. Parking can be challenging sometimes.

I found location ideal. Tables in smoking areas our nice. Lovely gentlemen even helped me out with a cool hair comb ... even had a heated debate in the end. If small and somewhat secluded is your deal, can find at the H.J. Pasadena. Highly recommend.
