“Staff is professional and made our 2day stay. Our room was clean, quite and functional. Morning breakfast was as good as other hotels. I will stay again without any concern. Thank you”

“Food 3 stars, location 5. We have been here at the hotel several times for a variety of functions such as weddings and business meetings, but that was about 10 or more years ago. We recently stopped by to begin celebrating a special day with lunch at the Terrace and a walk about the hotel and take a peak at the new pool they're building. The hotel itself is very dramatic. We had the fish & chips and the shrimp ceviche as nothing else interested us other than the two Manhattans which were very good. We subbed truffled chips for a few dollars more. I was however surprised at the limited lunch menu as it was busy for lunch. All other hotel dining locations were closed till dinner. It's always worth the $15 parking fee with validation or $25 just to look around this historic hotel as nothing in the LA area can compare to it. Also a great weekend getaway.”

“My family was welcomed by very friendly staff at the front desk. She explained all amenities and offers that I can take advantage of using my Amex Plat. The room was very spacious and very quiet throughout 3 night stays. This place also offer a heated outdoor pool with jacuzzi. The Pasadena neighborhood was also very safe and clean. One downside is that the bathroom is a bit old and the toilet was quite noisy when flushed.”

“I stay here every year when I run the Rose Bowl Half Marathon. The rooms are a bit dated (like me), but charming (I hope like me). Very clean, convenient parking and pleasant lobby. Definitely reminds me of California in the 1960's (in a good way). Very nice and helpful staff. Quiet at night.”

“Based on my recent experiences staying in various motels and hotels in Arcadia and East Pasadena area, this Best Western inn provides the most balance of comfort, convenience, and cost. If it weren't for the inadequate bathtub drain in my room and unsatisfactory experience with lobby counter staff, I would've bumped this review up to 5 stars based on the value. ・Price The $100~120 post-Covid price range for a single person was reasonable, considering that even bare-minimum budget motels in this area costs $90~100 a night. Note that there's another BW Royale Inn right next door which has the higher $150~200 price point, so be sure not to get these two BWs mixed up when booking. ・Room Very clean room, furnitures in good shape. Comfortable soft king-size bed. Room lighting is not too dim. Closet comes with many hangers, ironing board, clothes iron No pests spotted during 5-day stay. Nightstand lamps have outlets and USB ports. Functional air conditioner, small fridge, and cable TV. Wifi was at least adequate for watching 1080p Youtube live streams. Towels were soft and very well-stocked. Two tissue boxes, one by nightstand and one at the sink. Two trash cans. Bathroom was adequate and supplied with soap, conditioner, and shampoo. I might've been unlucky because the bathtub's drain in my room didn't work very well and kept getting clogged by my long hair strands. The drain also doesn't close fully, so the tub itself had trouble holding in bathwater. ・Amenities Free parking with ample spaces in the lot, though the more convenient side gate on the small street is closed at night. No vagrants or loud noises aside from street traffic. The complementary continental breakfast has decent selection: scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereals, orange juice, coffee, orange, apple, banana, yogurt, small pancake maker, toasted waffles and bread, packaged danishes and muffins. No bacon or ham. 2% milk only; no soy milk if you're lactose-intolerant like me. The breakfast staff was very friendly and attentive. She was the most pleasant staff member I interacted with at this inn. There was a sizable swimming pool, which I didn't use. Laundry room's washer and dryer charged very reasonable fees comparable to laundromats, and of course detergent costs extra. No exercise room, which I didn't need. ・Service Don't expect the lobby staff to voluntarily ask or tell you anything. If you want any sort of AAA discount or even BW's own membership offers, you must ask about them yourself. For whatever reason, I wasn't allowed to reserve multiple days in advance at the lobby counter and was repeatedly told at the counter I had to book everyday in order to extent my stay. It wasn't until this inn had no vacancy left that I found out I could've booked multiple days if I had done so through BW's website. Needless to say, I was quite irked that none of the lobby receptionists bothered to inform me of this even though I had already expressed my desire to stay longer. ・Location Good location near the 210 freeway, convenient for driving to Universal Studio or Rose Bowl. Somewhat close to the nearest Metro rail station that connects to Downtown LA. Several restaurant options within 15~30 mins walking distance. Within reasonable driving distance to Old Town Pasadena or Arcadia Mall and racetrack.”

“Amazing experience here. The staff is very friendly! We spent a bit of time this morning talking to a very sweet woman while enjoying the continental breakfast (which is 10x better than any other continental breakfast I’ve had before). The King suite was very clean when we arrived and very accommodating for our one-night stay. We ultimately needed to extend our stay one more day, and the staff made it a super simple process. The location is pretty good as well, with a Target just a few minutes down the street for any essentials, and also Tesla superchargers nearby in case you need to charge your car. Great view of the mountains from our window as well. Would definitely stay here again.Safety: The parking lot is fairly open, so I would definitely be sure to lock your car.”

“Just celebrated my birthday at the Afternoon Tea room with a group of girlfriends. We had a lovely time; the food and tea was excellent, and the room itself is like something out of a fairytale (like the rest of the property). There was a wide selection of savory and sweet foods, each of them equally tasty. My only hesitation to leave a 5 star review was because of the service; it took about 3 times of asking for our waitress to bring water to the table, and wished she had been a bit more attentive to us in general. Granted - it was a busy afternoon with other large parties to attend to, and she did her best while working somewhere that's understaffed. Otherwise, the restaurant was managed well, clean, and had the perfect ambiance for small and large parties alike. They also had us seated near the harpist, bonus points for that too!”

“Hotel was in a great location and was walking distance to both the main area of Old Town and the Rose Bowl. Good breakfast options and really good coffee. The rooms were spacious but yet, a little beat up (rips on furniture, dings in the paint). The absolute worst thing about this hotel was the pull out couch. The bed itself was great, but I unfortunately slept on the couch bed and it was the worst three nights sleep of my life. I even ended up with bruises from the springs and rods. Honestly, should not even be allowed to sleep on that.If you have more than 2 people, spring for the 2 bedroom - it will make all the difference.”

“I stayed at Pasadena Hotel & Pool for one night after the Hotel I was at (Hyatt) lost electricity. Not fun getting up at 2 am for a fire drill! Dennis at the Pasadena Hotel was so helpful and made sure my family was taken care of immediately. The hotel is located in a historic building that has been renovated with modern amenities. The lobby is elegant and inviting, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed, a refrigerator and TV. We enjoyed the large bathroom with big fluffy towels. The pool area is beautiful. The hotel also has a fitness center and a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. Food and beverages were delicious, especially the pretzel bites. The location is convenient, close to downtown Pasadena and many restaurants and shops. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and charming stay in Pasadena. Again a big Thank you!!! to Dennis for providing a room at the last minute. We appreciate your thoughtfulness and compassion.”

“Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous part of Pasadena. The rooms were clean and new. I received breakfast included in my rate. It wasn't a buffet. I was allowed to pick anything off the menu. That was great. They had coffee outside the restaurant which was a nice touch for a quick to go cup . This hotel has class and style and treats guests like fine hotels did in the past. You don't get great service like The Westin Pasadena too often these days.Rooms: Very nice and clean.”

“It's an older hotel but not outdated. We experienced a few problems in our room that never got resolved. They didn't even refund us any money. The safe didn't work, the automatic blind got stuck up, the thermostat was not working and we had ants in the bathroom! Not just one day either, we were there 6 days and every day I was disposing of them. Staff was very cordial and nice. Maintenance was not very helpful and didn't speak English very well to at all, so his trying to explain and help was more of a hit or miss. The breakfast was standard. But the amount of info they had for the rose bowl was stellar! Very thought out and helpful.”

“I wish I could give 10 stars! The service is absolutely amazing here and the location and room were even better. We decided to stay an extra night and Tiffany took the best care of us! Jeanine checked us in early when we arrived and was phenomenal too. Everyone was so accommodating! Anytime we’re in Pasadena we are 100% staying here. My family and I have felt so at home❤️”

“You pay for what you get when you stay here . $100 room shows but it was all about the location for us. Only down fall was shower had 0 water pressure. Other than that it did it jobs overall as a hotel and needing a place to sleep.”

“By far the BEST experience I had away from home! What really shines in this hotel is how friendly, caring, and accommodating the management is. I've been staying at Travelodge Pasadena for the past 2 weeks now and i'm glad to say that I have never had better service. Nick is by far the most friendly owner / manager i've ever met at any establishment and he completely goes out of his way to make sure that his tenants get everything that they need. Truly an amazing person and would recommend this place to anyone traveling in Pasadena. Definitely worth my 5 stars - tattoo guy :)”

“My first experience here was not good, but I have to change my rating. I have had no problems in the week that I've been here. Quite the opposite. It's been peaceful. It's a great location.”

“At first, I gotta say that I was sketched out by the "vintage" look of it. But when I checked in, I was able to talk to the staff and they had so much knowledge and great attitude that it was all worth it. The beds were clean and the rooms spacious. My husband and I felt safe leaving out personal items out. It has a charm to it and we couldn't really complain. Its situated nicely with many eateries around. ---I do want to come back here, I was recently in LA and I was hella bum that I couldn't book this hotel. Honestly 10/10 and I will def keep booking it when I come back again \(^_^)/”

“Very accommodating. Let us check in early and even let me look at the room before I paid for it. Average pricing. Parking is limited though. Decent place. The room we had was nice 127 but idk if all the rooms are as nice. The Wi-Fi is kinda wonky. I think if too many ppl are on it, it kicks you off and you have to log on”

“We enjoyed it ?The front desk was super nice, the ladies doing the cleaning have to work a bit on their customer service. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay. I loved the area of plenty of food locations that are walking distance ?. The girls enjoyed the pool. Overall experience, it was very nice ?”

“Nice hotel right where we needed to be. Clean, cared for, satisfying shower, quiet for urban location. Be ready for stairs. Everything you should expect including an ice machine that isn't scary. Staff were each helpful. Breakfast was a prefab carryout, but worthy attempt. Good apples. Off street parking limited but comfortable. Have new in-laws in the area and may well stay there again.Rooms: Clean, fully equipped, shower and pillows satisfying. Mattress showing age but slept well. We were 3rd floor so we had a balcony view and a breeze. We were on the street side, but traffic noise wasn't an issue.Safety: Pasadena is not one of the areas in SoCal that leave you nervous for your health and safety.”

“Booked this hotel for an event and the mixed reviews kind of scared me. However, the rooms were fine (a bit run down but the fridge and AC worked great). Service was great and parking was expansive which surprised me. I'll more than likely book again!”

“I stayed here for a few weeks last month, and I have to say that it was one of the nicer places I've stayed at recently. Front desk staff were super nice, and were very accomodating. If I needed towels, sheets, or toilet paper, they were not hesitant to make sure I got them. The only reason I gave it a four star review is because some lady staying there's dog bit me on the hand as I was literally doing nothing but waiting for her to get off the elevator so I could go back to my room. They gave me some bandaids and Neosporin. However, the lady was not given any kind of consequence, and I was later told by a co-worker that police should have been called because any time a dog bites, there has to be an investigation into it. All in all, I - and my dog - would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the front desk ladies for being so friendly and helpful.”
