I would give no stars if I could. Should you have to deal with LA financial credit union after a loved one has passed away, my heart goes out to you. Even after receiving all legal documents showing I am the personal representative of my father's estate they refuse to help me. I've been sending in payments for months on his mortgage trying to ensure his mortgage is paid and they have his account screwed up so badly but won't talk to me to get everything figured out. At this point I don't even know if I can continue to pay because I have no idea what they're doing with the money I'm sending them. Not only is it difficult to loose a loved one but to then be so mistreated when all you are trying to do is pay a payment. That's it, I'm just trying to make payments to keep a mortgage current. I'm beyond disgusted with this bank, would never recommend to anyone else nor use them personally. I look forward to the day this mortgage can be settled and I never have to deal with them again. IF by any chance someone from this company reads this, you need to have a look at your procedures in dealing with beneficiaries. You should be ashamed of the way you are currently operating. Good and honest people are trying to do what's right and you are making it next to impossible.

I have been a member of this credit union for over 15 years. I love the personnel. They are very friendly, helpful and patient. Sometimes the lines are long and only one teller at the window or they have to close for lunch due to a shortage of staff. Overall, this credit union has great APRs for cars, houses, savings, loans, and checking accounts. Easy parking.

Worst place to get a loan, even though I got the loan from them and after a while my home to value is more that 80% they refuse to cancel my PMI becuae they are saying there is no substantial improvement in your home, I paid for appraisal again and my equity is more that 20% and based on home protection act they suppse to cancel the PMI but they dont

Went in to replace a Debit Card. "Tom" required me to put a mask on, even though the woman in the next cubicle had her mask on under her nose, and a guy the next office over, had no mask on at all. I'm not sure if Tom was personally scared or just a policy wonk. Unfortunately, I must continue to back there, but I will not acquiesce to your double standards again! Either apply the rules across the board or stop the stupidity altogether!

I miss the former staff--Nieves + others. Not so much a friendly or helpful staff these days. Too much turnover. It's not what it used to be.

Teri Corona is amazing. She helped me when my mother was in her last days of stage4 terminal cancer. I was hopeless and couldn't get a hold of anyone due to the coronavirus, luckily Teri was there to answer the phone. She was professional and understanding. My family and I were able to plan funeral services because of Teri and Angela. We are forever grateful.

This is one of the only banks around Los Angeles still charging 30 dollar overdraft fees during this stay-at-home order. Never mind the fact that people are out of work and government aide is still not being sent out. You guys are predatory.

If you enjoyed the early 80's banking experience, you will love this brach. The woman hidden behind the door is much like the wizard of Oz. Only an illusion of power & authority, but bottom line the standard of operation is to deny. The true fear of the day is to approve or allow. Complacency is the norm. Plan spending way too much time to deal with any issues you may have to avoid stress on your end. We did manage to deal with what we needed. Dealing with the DMV to replace a stolen purse was a joy and timely by comparison. We have been with this branch for close to 20 years... I guess that is our fault.

I've been trying to set up a business account with this bank for over a week and it's amazing how impossible this has proven to be. The absolutely incompetent manager didn't even bother to look at our paperwork to see that the categorization of our business based on a quick search result, which shows it as a "domestic nonprofit" (which would deem us ineligible to work with the bank), was a shorthand reference which is simply a grouping of business classifications. After wasting a day at the branch trying to set our business account up I called online support in a row and after waiting 20 minutes they told me I will have to give my information for them to call me back -- they never did. This happened again the next day, so I called again at 4:30. The first person hung up on me while I was talking, the next was trying to help but seemed to not know what was going on and felt bad about my experience so she put me on hold to speak with her supervisor only for the call to be inexplicably cut off during the hold. I've had bad experiences with banks. Never before have I had such a horrendous experience before I even got to the point of having an account set up yet.

I have been a member since 1984 and just recently took advantage of the mortgage services. Anet Moradkhanian, Real Estate Loan Consultant, was extremely helpful in guiding me through the process. Even with her busy schedule, she always returned calls and took the time to answer the MANY questions I had. I was in a terrible loan, due to medical issues. After explaining my situation to Anet, she assured me that I will be in a better situation with L. A. Financial. I knew credit unions were a fanstatic alternative to banking but the services L. A. Financial provides to its members is the best. After completing the refinancing of my home, I ended up saving almost $1,100.00 a month!!! What a relief, thank you Anet! I encourage anyone looking to get away from the headache of dealing with the commercial banks to consider the credit union. L. A. Financial goes out of their way to work on your behalf.

I've hit a few banking snags and every single time, LAFCU has been able to get it taken care on within minutes. Every time I've gone into the Pasadena branch, EVERYONE has been wonderful. One of the bigger snags I've hit caused me to go into the branch. They had me speak to Sandy Galindo, the branch manager. She had it taken care of in minutes with a friendly, happy attitude. Let me be clear, the snags were caused by problematic deposits, not LAFCU. For example; I switched from Bank of the West who I was with for 15 years. BOW kept closing branches and changing personnel to the point where they didn't even recognize me - after 15 years of banking there. The final straw was when I received a big check and they wanted to place a 10 day hold on it - and my history was that I never bounced a check or had a deposited check bounce. They said "Sorry, we don't know you and our history only goes back one year." Took the check to LAFCU and although I'd been with them only for two years, they took the check, put a 5 day hold on some of the funds and gave me access to the rest. I've NEVER had a bad experience with LAFCU. Thanks again, Sandy Galindo.

Outstanding customer service! I was able to open a credit union account, refinance my auto loan, and initiate a home re-fi in just a few hours. The service team are very dedicated professionals, attentive and knowledgeable ... special kudos to Rosalind Wong at the Downtown LA office for helping me set up my account, to Martin Soto who helped with some troubleshooting, and to Wendy and Jorge at HQ for their help with my auto and house re-fi. I was a member of the LAFCU years ago... glad to be back.
