I was looking for a specific pair of Nikes for my son and with my connections I usually have no issue however this pair was a challenge! Alex to the rescue. Not only was he able to locate the shoes but was able to get them in a couple days later! Excellent customer experience everytime I visit!”

The manager convinced me to buy both pairs ecru and avocado green since they were such a steal. She was right! No pressure just pointed out that they were one of their staples and clearing out styles for spring arrivals. Love the selection, reasonable prices great service.”

“Alliance Board Company in Paso Robles is hands down the best shop for anything skate, surf, or snow. It’s been around for 20+ years and is such a staple in town. The owner, Mike, always greets you with a smile and genuinely takes the time to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. He’s super knowledgeable, whether you’re picking out a board or just grabbing a pair of sunglasses. Speaking of sunglasses, they have the biggest collection in North County SLO, which is awesome.

One thing I love about this shop is their women’s section—it’s full of really cute clothes! They’ve got a mix of athletic wear and stylized pieces, so you can find something no matter your vibe. Their skateboard section is huge, with tons of decks to choose from. I just got my two-year-old a skateboard setup for his birthday, and it’s absolutely perfect. The staff is always friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better.

The vibe in the store is so mellow and welcoming. They always have good music playing, and it’s just one of those spots where you feel comfortable browsing or asking questions. It has that small-town, wholesome energy that’s hard to find these days. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or your kids, Alliance Board Company is the place to go.”

“An experience that made my day

I was shopping for work boots today at a competitor up the street and after not finding what i wanted, I decided to take a look at Takkens. I was immediately greeted and felt welcomed by Kelly and the crew. Kelly walked me over to their large selection of work boots and gave me a brief overview of the boots I was interested in. (She was very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and customer service based) She even went above and beyond to get me into the correct shoe size and brought out different options I liked! Thanks to Kelly, I found the perfect boot and Takkens now has a customer for life. She’s the type of employee you build a team around so she can lead and continue making Takkens successful!”

“I’ve been in twice now since the very recent remodel. I think it looks great and I feel like they have a better selection than before. I bought white platform vans, my oldest son got Nike air max’s, and my youngest got crocs.

I’m giving four stars because I was disappointed by the disconnect between the online availability and what they actually had in-store. I came in for a specific pair of Hey Dudes for my 4yr old. Online said they had a few pairs left, in his size, and I double checked to make sure the store location was correct. They were no where to be found when I came in and when I asked the young woman at the register she just said no, they don’t carry those ones. I eventually found one pair on the clearance section in the back, not his size. So they clearly did carry them somewhat recently.

Otherwise still a nice clean store. Just bummed about this one situation.”
