La Jolla Trading Post is a store and gas station along Highway 76, often visited on the way to the desert. It is known for its friendly staff who get to know their regulars. The store is always stocked with a wide variety of snacks, sandwiches, coffee, and short order items, including many flavors and products not seen at normal gas stations. However, the gas pumps are currently gone and fenced. While it was once known for discount gas and food, recent prices are no different than nearby stations, with one down the road being much cheaper. There are no regular discounts or specials. A note for after-hours: the pump requires a credit card or over $100 in a debit account, or it will not work, and there is no public restroom. Despite higher gas prices, many stop for the convenient snacks and friendly service.
