Sign up knowing that cancelling your membership is a huge hassle and run around! Who sends an almost 80 year old member away with a phone number and an email to navigate!! To top it off, it's impossible as there is no option to cancel when you call in. Poor customer service period.

Despite the large selection of machines, there have been some surprising shortcomings at the Petaluma location. Mainly from the staff.For the first time, I visited this location at about 5:30pm today. Only 30min after staff left. To my surprise, they didn't have any towels available whatsoever. Both the San Rafael and Novato location has their employees always leave some towels for their evening gym members. Not only that, but there were no towels for the showers either. I checked all the towel baskets too. Not full at all. 3 towels in each basket at MOST. Where are all the towels?I hope this isn't the employees way of limiting laundry duties. What else is there to do for the front desk employees during the day besides a few simple maintenance tasks of the gym?Just because you have a wide selection of machines doesn't mean you can become complacent in other areas of basic service.Place looks dusty as well. Management needs to step in to keep this location from turning into a lazily maintained dump compared to the other locations.

Appreciation comment for Casey Longaker, coach/trainer at Sonoma Fit, Petaluma. Casey always has a smile to share and ask you how things are going for the day of his Mobility and Balances classes. He challenged me and provided encouragement which enabled me to finish each class feeling better. His enthusiasm for fitness made all attendees want to participate in his instructions.

Couldn't agree more with Shannon's review (previous review). This gym was amazing, always very clean and ORGANIZED about 6 months ago and before that. This gym has gone completely downhill within the past couple months. This gym is filthy. When staff "cleans" at night, they do the bare minimum. They vacuum, but don't get in between machines and do a thorough job. You can tell they don't want to do it because it's hardly any effort. They half a** "wipe down" machines, but do it when the gym is busiest (~6pm) and don't touch the machines that a person is using. So in total they wipe down very few machines. It doesn't make a difference. The BIGGEST problem is that plates are never racked, laying on the floor, every machine's weights are all out of order (ex: 45's with 10's behind it, 25's 10's and 45's on the same row, etc) and it's so frustrating. The pieces that you attach to the cable machines are always thrown and all over the place. The stand where you place cable attachments is always a mess every day. The night staff really slacks when management isn't watching. I have noticed for months now that the night staff always leaves to go home and there are plates left on machines that people aren't using weights all out of order and/or on the floor. It should be a requirement that the night staff organizes the plates, puts them in order and ensures there is nothing out of place laying on the floor, the stand with the cable attachments needs to be organized before they go home. And then the manager should check first thing when they get there the next day to make sure everything is in order and plates aren't left on machines. I don't know if this is because the staff you have is lazy or because the management doesn't punish properly and isn't hard enough on how serious is a matter this is. The staff gets away with doing the bare minimum. More effort should be put into re-racking weights instead of dusting!!!!!!!! I've only seen staff mop a handful of times and I think I've seen them mop the weight room a total of two times in a couple months. Because they mop hardly ever, there's always chalk on the floor by the squat racks that will be left there for weeks and chalk fingerprints on all the plates of the squat racks that no one ever cleans off. The same dirt on the ground, crumbs, rappers, water bottles, bands, etc will stay in the SAME SPOT FOR WEEKS before someone picks it up. Another huge issue is on weekends, the gym is a complete wreck, there's never toilet paper stocked in the women's restroom on weekends, there's weights laying everywhere, foam rollers on the ground, plates left on machines, etc. On weekends, 9 times out of 10 the trash bins are overflowing. I'm going to start posting pictures of how dirty this gym is. I pay too much money for my membership for this lack of cleanliness. I wanted to give the staff/gym the benefit of doubt and hoped they'd step it up, but it just keeps getting worse and worse and worse and it makes me sick to see staff go home with the weight room so trashed. I'm very disappointed. The management and owners need to have better control on this.

If I could give this gym zero stars, I would. As a member, l recently filled out a survey about the gym and directed their attention to the lack of cleanliness in their gym, but just got lip service in an email about how they appreciated the feedback and would "get right on that". A week later, nothing had changed, so I took pictures and sent them in an email to management/owners, asking them to clean their gym properly and then was accused of "personally attacking" the staff and then they kicked me out of the gym. The membership rates are extremely high, so I assumed that they would hire professional cleaners to take care of their gym. They do not. They also have male personal trainers in there that "stretch out" their clients, grabbing the woman clients' inner thighs, and massaging them in the middle of the gym, while wearing the Sonoma Fit t-shirt. It's disgusting and wildly inappropriate, but apparently that's okay, but it's not okay to tell the management/owners to properly clean their gym for their members. The treatment of women in that gym, employees and members, is very inappropriate and made me very uncomfortable working out there. I also feel the hostile treatment I received was because I'm a woman. If a male customer complained like I did, they would not have been kicked out. Be careful joining this gym.

All my reviews are positive, except this one. I've been a member 3 years, have been very happy up to this point & left glowing reviews. However an issue with the billing company, (Credit card didn't expire until Nov, billing company couldn't/didn't process Oct). NEVER contacted me & never even returned calls as promised. Coupled with not being unable to get a response from the gym or getting inaccurate information from gym staff, caused a ridiculous amount of wasted time & extra work. When I drove over to the gym to pay them (during the suggested timeframe provided by the gym), I couldn't find anyone & no one answered the phone. When they called me back they provided a different amount than previously agreed. Customer service for account issues is awful. I contacted the gym after their response to this review, asking for any proof of what they claim here; still no response. I will gladly remove this review if they can provide any proof to support their statements here. (I have proof of everything I stated.)

I came here expecting quality. After working out a couple of times here management got extra friendly too fast and began to push extra perks for sale which I said I didn't want. Ladies, I'm here to work out. I already gave you my money. No wonder this place is empty.

I'm hesitant to let people know how awesome this gym is because I love how it is NOT packed like a can of sardines - even during the busy hours. The gym offers a clean feel, great lighting, great bathrooms, indoor/outdoor workout options and tons of equipment to let you customize your workouts. I haven't done any classes but I plan to in the future. The people that work there and the members all seem humble and kind. Just a really good experience overall - and the best part is that it is technically a 24 hour gym for members. If I owned the place, that would be my main marketing asset - I cannot stress how valuable that is. Thank you Sonoma Fit! This is my favorite gym I've ever been to.

Sad to have to leave this rating but lack of response has left me with no choice. Great gym, friendly front staff, but awful management. Was signed up on a promotional rate when the gym first opened and was assured my rate would remain the same for the duration of my membership. Well, that couldn’t have been a bigger lie. Rate jumped from 49.95 to 89.95 in the span of one month. Asked to speak with management about it and was never responded too. It’s Sad, myself, my wife and my lifting buddy all cancelled our memberships due to lack of communication. Easily resolved issues but they don’t seem to care.

False advertising: they said they would match another gym's price. But when I got there and showed the planet fitness price, they said they would not match it. They said they would also not match Citi Sports nor 24 hour.

Management has impossible to get ahold of, I was charged full price for two months when my account was supposed to be frozen. I haven't been offered a refund and no one has responded to my calls or emails. Front desk staff is positive and as helpful as can be but the management couldn't care less about the clients.

Gyms have obviously been through a lot during COVID. SoFit seems to have listened and adapted to their members concerns. Facility is clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Pilates classes with Jackie are worth every penny and access to the reformers is a huge benefit.
