“I am truly not even sure where to start with how magnificent Newhall Mansion was as a wedding venue. The house itself is breathtaking and truly showstopping -- my husband and I drove away from our first venue tour knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that this was the place we were meant to be married. Every inch of the house is absolutely stunning. One of the hardest decisions we had to make was which backdrop to use for our ceremony, because there were no bad options! Our photographers had a multitude of options for backdrops and establishing shots for our wedding video. It gave every inch of California chic, but also eccentric old money, and every single touch was intentional and well thought out.

Our menu was thoughtfully designed by Chef Giancarlo, and four months later my mother is still lamenting the fact that she did not bring home leftovers because the filet that we chose to serve was so spectacular. We LOVED the option for family style dining as it allowed for all of the best parts of a buffet (self-serve, dietary restrictions already accommodated, opportunity for seconds) with the elegance of a plated meal.

Crystal, the venue manager, was thoughtful, kind, patient, considerate, and timely in all of her communication leading up to the wedding, and was on-site for the entire weekend.

We LOVED having the chance to invite some of our closest friends and family to stay at the house with us the night before and the night of the wedding. Some of my most cherished memories from the weekend are from the night before and the morning after, where we were surrounded by the people who love us. It was also absolutely wonderful to be able to arrive a day early to get set up, and then have an extra morning to get everything packed up and ready to take home.

And on the actual day of the event, the event staff were truly amazing. Under the leadership of Crystal, Giancarlo, and Rick, and the guidance of our INCREDIBLE day-of coordinators Melissa and Sandy (from Tricia Dahlgren Events, who I also highly recommend), the event ran without a single hitch. I never, ever thought that, as a type-A bride with a background in event planning, I would be able to put my phone down, unplug, and float through my day -- but I could!!

I cannot say enough about Newhall Mansion. They set the perfect backdrop for my dream wedding, and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who is planning a unique, slightly quirky, but classy and chic wedding.”

“Highly recommend Ambush Paintball and Airsoft! I hosted my son's 13th
Bday, and they all had a blast.

What you can expect: drive up to the entrance, follow signs to Paintball and airsoft - don't go toward event center. Check in, and it's helpful to have your waiver signed, but if not, they have printed ones and can be filled on the spot. If you book a party they will reserve 3 tables for you and parking spaces (3, but you can request more).

Once your party arrives, they will be issued a facemask and gun. You can rent a vest and you have to buy your own BBs ($20 per bag). We were there from 10am-3pm and used about 2.5 bags.

Once you check-in you will be asked if you want to pay up front or keep tab. I kept the tab open just to avoid charging my card. They conveniently have dominoes pizza delivery if you wish to order pizza ($15 for a large pizza) or you can grill (there are rules) or bring your own food.

Play time: for a party you get issued a referee that is with you the whole time. We got Gavin and he was very welcoming, helpful and flexible. We would go back just because of our positive experience with Gavin. He took us through the 6 fields and broke it down to about 20-30 min game time and then gave a 20 min resting period. (or more depending on your party's needs).

Venue: The location is accessible and if you use Google maps it will give you the exact location as a random place. I am posting a picture of the actual entrance for reference.

The place has 3 rows of covered benches for your party. I was impressed at the Ambush staff being quick to clean tables and trash left behind - mostly empty equipment boxes and bags.

The only bathrooms are the portable bathrooms.

“What a beautiful, clean facility complete with receptionists and light refreshments.! Teacher Candy lead 40-50 dancers in a dynamic, fast-moving dance program of line dancing! The floor was hardwood, heavenly for dancing in boots. The air conditioning was pumping, and it was a great night for dancing. Simultaneously, in the next room, there was ballroom dancing happening. Nice area outside the ballrooms to sit one out. Plenty of parking!”

“My daughter and I are new to the area, and we’ve quickly become regulars here. The employees are always so kind and welcoming, and they make us feel right at home. My child loves spending the day here, and I truly appreciate that they offer Wi-Fi so I can get work done without any issues.

“Had to make a stop overnight on our way to our final destination so this hotel choice was out of necessity. We were blessed by fate. From the moment we walked through the door the facility glowed with professionalism. The counter person – this was 11:30pm was cheerful and concerned for out comfort and wellbeing. We were in our room in no time. This is a little thing but they had the new type luggage carts that made transporting everything MUCH easier. The room was CLEAN, furnished comfortably even though it was a cookie cutter chain design. The bed was very comfortable ( a huge plus) and the supplies were all of excellent quality. While we were only at the hotel the one night the staff and facility made a very positive impression on us.”

“I stayed here for 4 nights with my family for a wedding and we had a great time.

I interacted with several different front desk staff, and they were all very pleasant and helpful. In particular, Ray went out of her way to help me with an issue I was having and it made all the difference for me.

There's a pool and a HOT TUB, which we just loved.

The only issues were:
- The room doors are sturdy but close loudly
- The bathrooms have no venting (weird design decision by Marriot)
- The room does have coffee + maker, but there's no complementary coffee or breakfast in the lobby. (They have a mini starbucks counter instead)”

“We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The room was clean, floors were clean, & the breakfast was quite good. It's a little different exterior design style than the normal Express hotels. We were very close to the freeway but it was quiet. We had a bit of water escaping the shower each day, but the extra towel took care of that.”
