About White Pony Express
WPE is a nonprofit food recovery organization committed to eliminating hunger and poverty. They recovering surplus food from businesses, restaurants, gardens and grocery stores and delivering it with love to people in need. Serving 125,000 people annually in Contra Costa County through 98 partner agencies, they has recovered and delivered over 27 million pounds of food, equivalent to 21 million meals, preventing 39,494 tons of CO2 emissions. The staff is amazing, the building is spectacular and volunteers runs the place. They also distribute clothing and other reclaimed things to various charities, bring food security and Great satisfaction to the local people.

My favorite local charity. They ably bring food security and other securities to downtrodden people locally. I wish they had the magic bullet solution to the overall issue of being downtrodden, but they are definitely the local rock stars in this arena for their niche specialty. Go WPE!
