Old Poway Park & Railroad is a great park with a cute train that requires a ticket for riding around the area. It is excellent for kids to discover history and do fun activities such as gold finding, a pottery archaeology thing, train riding, and other things. The park features a playground with lots of play areas and a picnic area with benches or quiet spots under trees, where people have birthday parties or enjoy their own food. It is near a weekend Farmers Market, considered one of the best, where visitors can find a wealth of variety including true organic produce, fresh wild-caught fish, baked products, and food stands. There is also a restaurant with excellent food, like fall-off-the-bone tender ribs and amazing salads. The atmosphere is welcoming, service is friendly, and the park is dog-friendly with lots of happy dogs walking. It is an excellent place for family fun, though sometimes there can be a long line to wait.

Cool little park. They have a handful of bbq setups with a good amount of benches. There is a pathway that goes around and it's just got a chill vibe. There is a restaurant that I have ate at before and it's pretty good. I believe train still runs on the weekend mornings. It worth going and checking it out.
