About Ramona Grasslands Preserve

Ramona Grasslands Preserve is a beautiful and amazing location with lovely views and awesome scenes, especially after rains when the pond fills up. It offers several trails, including a couple of fun, mellow loops that are easy to follow with some small inclines and a small hill providing views of the grassland. The trails are more of a walk than a hike, suitable for a nice, easy stroll or a cool afternoon walk. It is a great place to start the morning or see sunsets. The preserve is known for its diverse wildlife and is a must for wildlife and landscape photography. Visitors may see birds, coyotes, burrowing owls, water fowl, and hear bald eagles and golden eagles. Cows are free to roam the whole property and trails, and horses are also welcome, so visitors need to watch for horse poops. The area is a sensitive habitat, so it is important not to bother the animals and to clean up after yourself and any dogs. The preserve is dog friendly, but dogs must be kept on leash to avoid disrupting cows, hikers, and bicyclists. There is plenty of space and parking, including along the side for vehicles towing a trailer. The parking lot is closed at certain times, but parking is available out front to walk in.
