“Straight From the Heart is a fantastic thrift store that offers so much more than just great deals—it's a true community gem! As a grass roots non-profit, they've been supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families for over 26 years. The 100% volunteer staff, including the owner, are incredibly kind, hardworking, and committed to helping foster parents. They are truly an inspiration.
I love coming here, it is my favorite thrift store. The volunteers are always welcoming and they have an amazing selection of gently used/new clothing, shoes, toys, and accessories and their prices are very reasonable. Their Kid Pack Room is especially heartwarming, providing brand new items to foster children free of charge, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and community members.
Straight From the Heart does a lot of good…….they offer free CPR and First Aid classes to caregivers, helping them meet licensing requirements and ensure the safety of the children in their care. The thrift store's sales help cover the center's expenses, allowing them to continue offering vital resources and support to foster families.
What makes this place truly special is the love and dedication of everyone involved. They provide opportunities for the children to come to the store and learn valuable skills. Yes, there are children here, and yes, they can make noise, but they are learning important life skills that will help them in the future. So please be patient and appreciate the hard work and dedication these amazing volunteers put into helping foster children.
I highly recommend visiting this amazing thrift store—you'll find great deals, you will be supporting a wonderful cause and you will encounter incredible, selfless volunteers with the most beautiful and compassionate hearts.”

“This place is a hidden gem! ? They have a good variety of items for a very reasonable price. They have clothes, home decor, toys, wall art, kitchen items, etc. It's always steadily stocked too. There's never too many or too little items out, which makes it easy and enjoyable to browse. I always find a treasure or two (or more) whenever I go. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.”
“This has been my go to thrift store for a long time. The workers are amazing, helpful, and nice. The prices can be pricy but there is always a sale when you're looking for good quality items. 10/10 store, love ReRuns!”

“A small and cute thrift store. Has a little bit of everything for everyone but wish there were more children’s clothes. There are a lot of China sets, some furniture and more women's clothing. The staff is friendly. Pricing is set except for “premium brands” which are priced individually.”
“One of the best thrift stores in North County. Robert, Diane, Michael, Freddie & Chris are always helpful and make me feel welcome. Prices are fair. Thanks a lot, CRC! Highly recommend~”
“G'mach aka "The Jewish Gift Closet" is such a wonderful place.. The volunteers are so helpful in helping you with what you need and both Myrice and Helene are such beautiful persons! they care about you as if they've known you your their whole life and make sure you are felt welcomed and never turn you away for anything.. I've been able to find clothing for my growing daughter and the best part is I can always bring back what didn't fit and it's been a great place to also bring my donation items.. they take anything from Men/Women clothing, shoes, accessories Baby/Kids clothes, toys, crib, maternity Books, new toiletries, houseware and more!! It's great to have a place like this to help the Jewish community”
“legit one of the best thrift shops around ?? so many gems & AT ACTUALLY AFFORDABLE PRICES?! unheard of these days. Love the refresh this store has gotten ✨ not cluttered at all anymore; well organized clothing, actually great selection (def got some name brand gems too) & friendly employees ☺️ thanks for keeping the prices reasonable ya’ll ? keep it up & I’ll keep coming back ♡”
“This place mostly sells furniture, but they sell a few trinkets, mops, brooms, shirts, backpacks, and suit cases, too. They have great prices compared to everywhere else! The employees or owners are friendly, too. I bought a white chair and pillow for only $95. Normally, that same chair costs $300! How awesome! I also bought a large suitcase for $55, and curtains for $14.”
“This is one of those Goodwill stores that's mostly a bookstore. They do sell some other items like clothes, accessories, and knick knacks, but just a few select items and priced higher. Book selection is decent and well organized.”
“A great thrift store for all sports fans. Lots of vintage attire. We bought a vintage Michigan State blue sweatshirt. Great place if you looking for unique gift for sports person in your life.”
“Their new price structure is so awesome! The people who work here are really friendly and helpful too. Just got the cutest Vuori pants and lots of other great finds. This hidden gem definitely has the best values around!”
“AMAZING STORE! The lady who works there is SO sweet, the few times i’ve gone she’s been so kind and patient as i ask for the dressing room like 4 times. They seem so have minimal staffing so if it takes a while to help you out at the register or get a room opened this is why! The clothing isn’t exactly sorted by size but rather by type of clothing. The prices are also a tad higher than i would like, but most thrift stores have been doing this so you can’t really isolate a single thrift store for this. Also considering it’s in carlsbad, it makes ir more reasonable. They also sell relatively cheap house plants/propagations which i LOVE! Overall, i love this place and consider it a little hidden gem where i can spend some time for myself :)”
“We've been going here sporadically over a decade. They have really good options for thrifting, for all ages and sizes. The operating hours vary but it's definitely worth looking into.”
“The best place to come for shopping for everthing, at list once a week. location is next to Trader's Joes in oceanside which make it very easy to stop by before shopping. The store open 7 days a week.”
“This is a small thrift store in the heart of Del Mar with volunteers who are friendly and customer-focused. It's well organized. Selections are limited, but I always seem to find something when I visit. Yesterday, it was a festive martini glass for $2 to replace one that broke a few years ago that was part of a set. Parking is in the Church lot, so make sure to get a 1-hour permit from one of the volunteers. There's a 20% discount on Tuesdays for Seniors 55+ and Military.”

“Clean, well organized Goodwill with a nice layout. The items here are in better condition than I normally see in a Goodwill. There's also a decent selection of movies and video games, too. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was a Marshall's rather than a Goodwill!”

“Always pay it forward.
This store has a great staff. They are friendly and welcoming.
The place is clean and very organized.
Sometimes you'll find a needle in the haystack. Just need to be patient.
The donation area is a bit tight and does get busy.”

“This review is only for the donation center, as I did not go inside of the store. How cool to have a drive - thru donation center! You pull up and a person comes with a large cart to collect all of your items you want to donate! It was fast and such an easy process! I was in and out in seconds! They also seem to take almost everything. If you don't have a lot of time to spare this drive thru donation center is the way to go!”

“What a fantastic Goodwill Outlet! When I travel for work I love visiting the outlets in the area, and this one did not disappoint. The best part are the employees. They are so nice and very helpful.
You definitely want to get there early to secure parking, as it gets full quickly.
There is no need to get in line for entrance. About 10 minutes before opening they pass out raffle tickets to everyone. At opening, they draw the tickets and that's the order you are let in.
If you are one of the first in, head left, grab a cart and go into that room by the carts with big boxes and bins. Try to secure a large tall plastic bin or large cardboard box because the first customers to get to those can dig through, while no one else is allowed until they're done. They toss their unwanted items into a shallower/lower bin that anyone can go through, though really only one, max two people can fit to look through.
If you love spending a few hours looking for treasures, you'll absolutely find them here. This is a great store and I can't wait to return.”

“Beautiful shop, but too pricey for me. Used puzzles at $5.00. No guarantee they are complete. I'd rather buy new with a guarantee at that price. They did have great puzzles. They are obviously not flying off the shelves at that price point.”

“The prices have gotten out of control! These items are donated, correct? With prices so high, no one buys it and then the items just sit there forever because they are not properly priced to move! It’s being ran more like an antique store or a consignment shop? I used to go in at least once a week or so! However , I don’t go but maybe once a month or every other month, because not much has changed when I go in, lots of the same stuff is still there at the same price! Maybe have sales on the things that have been there for awhile? You’ll make some money at least and the stuff will move out making room for the new stuff! The ladies there are nice though!”
“Went on a Saturday around 3, not busy at all. It might’ve been because it was so hot that day but they had decent enough AC. Super well organized and good prices!”
“I love the selection at Plato's Closet Escondido. They have a great variety of both men’s and women’s clothing and it feels like a true used clothing outlet. The racks are constantly refreshed so I always find something new and affordable. Friendly staff and great prices make it my go‑to thrift store. Excited to return for my next shopping trip.”
“We absolutely love this place! Great deals and the staff/volunteers are fantastic! From furniture to clothing to housewares, we always have fun seeing what is new. They always have great sales too!”
