“I was so lucky to have found A1on my way back home from Big Bear to Los Angeles. I have run flat tires and got a warning that the pressure was low on one of my tire right when I got off the 330. It was already past 6 PM and I didn't want to drive more than 80 miles on my run flat. I needed a rebuild for a Ford head on an interference engine. My tensioner went out and I had a few valves make light contact with piston crowns.
Since the vehicle was paid off I didn't want to junk or sell it for a few bent valves.
There are eBay sellers with cheap rebuilt heads but avoid them like the plague. They are junk, just look at the reviews. A decent rebuilt head that is reliable warrantied etc from AutoZone is around 6 to 700 dollars with tax and that's with a core. Ford wanted 3500.00 to do the job.
I was in a pickle and found this place due to reviews. I took a chance and was glad I did. Owner is very nice and rebuilt my head with new valves etc for around 350.00.
You won't beat that. As soon as I turned over engine by hand I could feel how strong the compression was. They even use assembly lube so they're ready to go.
They do surface and paint them , I imagine they surface to minimum needed for flatness.
The only thing s I would improve are that their paint should be stronger against solvents. If you have to remove gasket material on install with carb cleaner or a thinner, paint will come off.
They also should have a list of what's standard on their rebuilds on a hand out or posts on their website but I assume they check everything and use standard practices. They do large volume you can tell by the shop.
I don't have hydraulic lifters so wanted assurance they check clearances so I didn't have excess noise, and guides-sone shops don't check unless you ask and that lifters move freely, since the valves hit.
I hope this helps someone else. Also if you have can sprockets with no diamond washers or dowel pin, use locktite red on install.

“I came to GST for a diagnosis back in April as I was stuck scratching my head on a pretty major issue my 2002 Yukon was having. I was having some pretty serious misfires that I had done a lot of work on trying to figure out the root cause. After throwing testing a lot of stuff and throwing parts at it, I had come to the conclusion that it had to be an internal motor issue, but I had to be certain.
I dropped my truck off and after a couple of days Steven gave me a call to come by, and he confirmed my suspicious, he said it was the cams. So I took that diagnosis and ripped apart my 5.3 Vortec in my backyard, and I found that the intake lobe and my intake lifter for Cylinder 2 was chewed up.
I slapped it back together with all new gaskets, lifters, lifter trays, and a cam. I started her up and voilà, no more misfire. Steven's diagnosis was spot on, and I'd recommend him highly if you ever need an expert with vehicles.”

“A Christmas Miracle Thanks to Rodriguezzz Tire Shop
This morning started off rough — my son woke up to find that someone had stolen one of his tires. Just one. After scrambling to find a replacement rim and tire through Facebook Marketplace, we realized (too late) that the tire didn’t even have a valve stem.
On Christmas, no less.
By some miracle, Rodriguezzz Tire Shop was open when we called. They were the only ones to pick up of the eight or nine we tried! We showed up hoping for the best, and they absolutely came through. They installed the valve stem, inflated and balanced the tire, and got us back on the road so we could safely get his car home.
No attitude. No hassle. Just genuine help when we really needed it.
It may have been a small job to them, but it meant everything to us today. Truly a Christmas miracle we didn’t expect but are incredibly grateful for.

“I wanted to wait at least a week to give an honest and fair review. I went in on 11/24/25 to figure out why my car had been smoking the day before. This place is close to where I work and I had seen they had really good reviews so I took a chance. Dropped it off first thing when they opened, had an answer to what the problem was by 9am and was given a fair price. Everything was good and done by 1pm and my car has ran smoothly since, no more smoking or burning smell, they even followed up with me via text to check on how everything was going which I found very responsible and noble. Also was given a warranty of up to 1 year or 12,000 miles incase it starts acting up again which is nice.I would come back if need be in the furture for more services.
