“I love this place. I live nearby and bought both a vacuum cleaner and sewing machine from them. I have had the vacuum, a Meile White Star, repaired a time or two here, and have always been happy with their service, The vacuum finally lost its will to live after 25 years, and I decided to replace it with the current model. They guaranteed to match online prices, and when I came home, I discovered a sale price at Amazon that was significantly less than I'd paid. I went back to Grand Lake Sew & Vac and they looked it up and gave me a refund immediately. These folks are true to their word and are excellent technicians. I ams o glad I can support this local business and so glad they are in my neighborhood.”

“It is so great to see a small business surviving in these times. I needed a lamp part for a prototype I was building. These folks were great on the phone and in person. I was happy not only to see that they had a stream of customers coming in, but also that they gave each and every one great customer service. For me I needed I little piece of threaded lamp. They gave me choices. They cut it to size and they were more than fair on the price. In addition to lamp stuff, they do a lot with vacuum cleaners. I would highly recommend supporting this store if they can ever help you. I am sure it would be a win win situation”
“We went to Airport Appliance in Emeryville after a salesperson at Home Depot told us there's essentially no difference in quality between their washing machines, regardless of price. In contrast, Manny, Manuel Lewis, Jr., the salesperson at Airport Appliance was very knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the tiers within brands, whether parts are easily available, and what people say about how well machines with and without agitators work. He also helped us to understand different dishwasher options. They offer a service for connecting the dishwasher that HD does not and their delivery is faster and free. If machines don't fit when delivered, they can be returned free of charge, and if they arrive damaged, their price can be reduced or they can be returned. There is also a much larger selection to look at of all appliances. Great experience.”

“I will say that I can see how the Home Depot has changed, the majority of items are locked up. However, I do understand why; it’s due to the high amount of theft. But, I would like to say that I appreciate how friendly and how proactive an employee was during our visit. Denene provided us with AMAZING customer service! I appreciate how thorough she was explaining the process of changing out the cabinets and counter tops for our home. At this moment, my husband and I will be placing that project on hold, but I did want to recognize the amazing job she did, with being super patient with us and answering our questions. “We visited on 7/10/23, looking for a length of flexible spa hose to finish setting up a hot tub in our backyard. We had already gone to one Home Depot and had issues. We located the hose in question, but wanted to buy per-foot, rather than an entire roll of hose. This was something they had a SKU for, but they didn't have 8 feet of loose tubing for us. Eventually, we took the roll up to check out and explained the situation to Sylvia. Other places might insist that we buy the entire roll. Instead, she stuck with us, and found Jose, who could do the cutting we needed.Thank you to Sylvia and Jose for going above and beyond in order to make it work. It took a little while to get the right people, but they didn't abandon us, and they made sure to keep with it until we had resolution.”
“This Home Depot is in the Emeryville shopping area, with a huge parking lot and is within walking distance of a Target, Nordstrom Rack, Office Depot and Michael's.I've gone there to get paint matched, and a variety of other household items and they've always had them.Lately I've been ordering online for pickup and they've usually been pretty responsive to get the pickup orders ready.”
