“Thank you for Dr John Pham for his great job. I appreciated him and his team. They are very friendly and helpful. Dr Pham is a professional dentist and takes good care of his patients. I found him online and read his reviews. I thought I would visit a few dentists to compare the price. However I decided to use him at my first visit because he explained clearly and gave me more information about my tooth implant. During the whole procedure, he payed his attention and let me know what was doing to my tooth. Today I was very happy to get my tooth implant done and my teeth cleaning too. I needed to pay an extra $100 to my previous dentist due to coffee stain but Dr Pham didn't charge me after he checked how bad of my coffee stain. I never had this kind good service before. I definitely will recommend him to my family and friends.”
“walked in thinking it’d be a quick stop for one gift but ended up spending almost an hour in the cozy back corners. the staff member near the poetry section noticed I was lost and actually asked what I was looking for instead of just nodding past me which was a nice change. found this amazing collection of poetry books I wouldnt have seen in a big store its definately my new spot for grabbing gifts for freinds. the place has an open, quiet energy that just feels different than other stores, kind of like everyone inside is on the same wavelength. didn't get rushed out even when they were busy which is rare these days. grabbed a couple things for myself to because they had a small display of local journals and I couldn’t resist the hand drawn cover im a sucker for that kind of detail. I will absolutly be coming back next time im in town”

“I just discovered this place. I love it! They have a good selection of classic literature. I've gone back twice in less than a week. Prices for paper back are very reasonable. Hardcovers are a bit more expensive but they are in really good condition. The staff is very kind and helpful.”

“This book store is like a treasure hunt, it's a great place to spend a long time digging through each shelf. Every aisle is piled from floor to ceiling with books, many of which are older editions or out of print pulp. I found nice quality collections of both Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler novels when I was in this week, which are going to be very welcome additions to my home library.
They also have a cabinet of signed books behind the counter. Great place to spend an afternoon with reasonable prices.”

“I’m an avid reader, and The Book Alley is now my favorite place to find rare and second-hand books. It’s a bit tucked away in Pasadena, but worth seeking out. The store is like a hidden gem with shelves upon shelves of well-organized, gently used books. I found an original edition of a Hemingway novel, which made my day. The staff is always friendly and willing to help with any requests.”

“Kinokuniya in Santa Anita mall is a great location to shop for Japanese manga, books, stationary, and most importantly Smiskis and Sonny Angels! I got a Smiski Toothbrush Holder for only $16.95. Prices are not marked up. Staff were very attentive and nice! Would come back for sure”
“Amadeus rocks! Small bookstore that carries books from Unamed Press as well as an assortment of new and used books. Book selection varies from classics to modern. They have more alternatibe narratives and authors than most bookstores. Great neighborhood and great staff.”
“I visited the Wonder Emporium for the first time today to find a gift for my granddaughter, and I was delighted by the experience. They even offered to gift wrap her presents, which was a lovely touch. The husband and wife who run the store were incredibly friendly and enjoyable to chat with. “Nice little bookstore. Clean and welcoming atmosphere! A lot of books are used but in great condition. Great selection, especially in fiction and fantasy. They had a good amount of vinyls but I didn’t look into those.

“Whoa a true gem of a bookstore not just for highland park but for LA. The kind of place I see myself going to once a month at least.
Selection is top tier and very diverse from rare Japanese art books to vintage philosophy etc. Truly something for everyone. The community-focused vibe of the place encourages conversations between not just with the friendly shopkeeper but also between patrons.
The stationary selection is also excellent- not many places that carry Mnemosyne for example.”

“A lovely little bookstore with a few gift and card accoutrements at the front and a large selection of books to peruse.
The clerk (owner?) that I dealt with when I went in was highly personable and assisted me in getting a book they didn't have in stock. It took only a few days for them to get it in! Amazon may have done it faster, but the pricing and small shop experience definitely outweighs that. Plus I was able to find a really cute collection of cards that I bought for my siblings and niece and nephews birthdays coming up.
Plus there's a Dobby behind the counter and a little hide and seek game for kids who visit the store (see the counter for the details, I forgot them). Nothing beats that local shop experience.”
