“I worked with Alina to buy my wedding dress at Viero. From the first time I reached out via email to schedule an appointment for the dress I wanted she was very nice and responsive. Although I pretty much knew what dress I wanted there were many beautiful dresses in the boutique to try on. It was nice that everything is by appointment and it was just my party and I in the building for the entire appointment. Alina let me know a soon as my dress arrived and helped me schedule picking up my dress and veil to work with my schedule as we traveled 5 hours to Viero. “Beautiful array of wedding dresses. Found my wedding dress here after going to 3 other stores. Store clean, ambiance great smelled good the store. Staff were helpful but maybe not as attentive as other bridal shops though friendly. Had dress altered but took longer and was not initially satisfied as what was asked to be done wasn’t done when came back for 2nd fitting. Also maybe trusted the staff/alterer more than I should have and was tighter than preferred. Dress was still beautiful”

When I shared my story with Zoe about my fiancé and me when trying on dresses, she pointed out that my first ever date with my fiancé years ago was right up the road from Saint Clark - already I knew it was going to be a special experience :) Zoe is such a sweet soul and so supportive during the process of trying on dresses. Lisa is also sweet and awesome and helped pick out a dress style for me that I had initially envisioned, but it wasn’t until I tried it on that I felt more confident and beautiful in it. “I was shocked at the ease of her expertise. She looked at my formal gown - which needed to be taken in on the sides of the bodice and waist - put 1 pin somewhere - and that was it. I came back for a fitting 3 weeks later, and it fit perfectly at my waist. She explained to me about the proper fit under my arms and at the chest, how to use tape and what bras to wear to feel more comfortable and help the dress lay more attractively. Not only was it a good experience that led me to trust Connie with my appearance, but it was also a really affordable alteration. Can't say enough good things about this experience.”

“I am just back from collecting my second dress from alterations with Carmen at Bridal ST and I am thrilled with the outcome and actually feel quite emotional! I came to Carmen on a recommendation from a colleague at JPL. I had just had a dreadful experience where I had to walk out of my fitting crying at another local alterations place who added on loads of costs after our agreed-upon quote simply because they could as it was so close to the wedding, said they weren’t able to do the previously agreed upon alterations and got blood on my dress from the pins which left me very panicked with 8 weeks til my wedding. Ironically, my colleague also had a very bad experience at the same place and Carmen at Bridal ST saved her wedding dress! It was safe to say I was really stressed and knew there was not much time. However clearly someone up there is looking out for me. I thank my lucky stars that this experience led me to Carmen! She was so kind and welcoming from the get-go, and I felt much calmer after our consultation. In talking to her, I could tell she was an expert and master at her craft and her passion for her art really shone through. Turns out that she designs and makes her own dresses so she knows the intricate detailing that is needed on even very complex designs. And the store stocks some beautiful dresses, including one of my favorite brands, Pronovias. Carmen knew exactly what was needed and made expert recommendations at my fitting, for all the things the other establishment said they were unable to do. Both of my dresses (Pronovias and Galia Lahav) had a lot of complex layers involving horsehair and lace as well as tulle, and the Galia Lahav has lots of 3D flowers and sequins. Carmen worked quickly and expertly in taking them up and taking the dresses in. She even insisted on hand stitching some fabric at the zipper today as she felt it was getting caught in zipping it up and wanted me to be more comfortable. I thought this was really sweet. The bustle looks excellent and I feel so comfortable walking, she did it in such a way that the shape really flatters me. I’ve lost some weight and lost my curves but whatever she did has now given me some shape which I am so happy about. My first dress is sentimental to me because I live here in Pasadena away from home, and I chose it with my Mom who flew all the way from Ireland to be with me in choosing it. My second dress is particularly special to me as I am indecisive and it remained on my mind after choosing the first one. I’ve tried to please everyone else with this wedding resulting in much stress, and I feel getting it is the one thing I did for me and me only, and it was really special to me that my fiancé insisted on getting it for me :) it takes a lot of trust in choosing your seamstress, and I want to recommend Carmen to any bride, especially those feeling the anxiety and stress of wedding planning - she is an absolute expert, talented and kind person and I am so glad I found her. Lori, the store owner is also very welcoming and kind and the price was very fair and reasonable. I want to also highlight that of all the alterations places I checked out this is the only place I went to that has a large fitting room. After weeks of checking out places and being stuffed into tiny rooms that my poofy first dress couldn’t fit into, my friend said to me “the large fitting room is a sign they show a lot of consideration for their brides”. I felt very comfortable getting changed and felt good in myself as a result. Just wanted to note that and to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Carmen and Lori for a very pleasant experience, for being an absolutely integral part of the wedding, and for making me feel so beautiful and confident as I gear up for my special day back home in Ireland! I will add photos when I come back from the wedding and I will be recommending you in work and calling the store where I got the dress to add you to their recommended list. “Lara was incredible to work with on my wedding dress alterations, and she truly went above and beyond the task of making sure my dress fit perfectly. She not only helped me with fit adjustments, but also helped with mobility and comfort concerns, styling recommendations, and made us a video for how to tie the bow in the back. I felt overwhelmed with indecision over small details for my wedding day look, and she helped me work through styling details regarding hair accessories, length of dress, cover-up ideas, and whether or not to have a bustle or wrist strap installed. Her professional opinion and many years of expertise made me feel more confident and less stressed after each visit to her lovely studio. During the alterations process she shorted the straps of my dress, changed the bra cups to be a close skin-tone match, adjusted a few vines and leaves, and did a crucial length adjustment as she helped me decide to remove the train of my dress. Our wedding venue was outdoors with lots of hard-packed dirt ground, and dancing was a top priority for me, so she figured out the perfect length hem with my shoes to make it seem like I was floating on air and not dragging. My comfort in the dress for the whole day was all thanks to Lara’s expert POV. So glad I got to work with her and I highly recommend her for your needs.”

“Came in to buy a dress and the owner was quick to ask for help but also gives you space and time to look around unlike others who are constantly asking if u need anything. Has beautiful stuff in store and is always ready to help out her customers. Also if you have any questions she will not rudely respond. Very lovely lady 11/10 !”

“The other reviews are very on par: get appointment and keep the receipt. I did not have an appointment so I had to wait two hours, but that's my own fault. In the meantime, you can browse for women and men's clothing. Helen is honest and in the zone with her work. She lets you try on dresses and will tell you her opinion on what she thinks looks good. She focuses on only two groups at a time, but does a great job since she is so concentrated. Time and cost: mine was $640 including tax, and takes 2.5 months until it arrives. She takes cash or Zelle. Then you do the fitting and wait 2 weeks for the alterations and receive the final product. You cannot haggle the price, but I argue that for the ability to fully customize and with nice fabric it's hard to beat. Language: She does speak English, but converses better in Mandarin. My family speaks Cantonese so it was harder to understand, but not too difficult. Size: I would say I'm a large in Chinese sizing but a medium in America. Many of the qipaos don't fit me here so if you're bigger than a medium it'll be harder to try on samples. She gave me a gift at the end for my wedding which was very sweet of her and gave many apologies for the wait. Summary: You could order online for a bit less on price, but you're sacrificing the customizing and ability to try different styles on. As long as you make an appointment and have some time before the event you're getting the dress for it's worth it!”

The ladies were very friendly and were able to do alterations for my dress that same day (it was a simple black dress that only needed a hem but still, most places still make you wait several days and even weeks for plain dresses). I like that the price of alterations is included and the dresses are reasonably priced to begin with. They had a pretty decent collection in store, even more options than what you see on display and of course they can order more.”

“This is a bit of a long, overdue review for Irene and the seamstress, Esther. I first heard of Love Boat from my cousin's wife, who also purchased her wedding gown from Irene last year. Immediately, I texted Irene and we worked together to find an open appointment given my night shift schedule, lack of uniformity from week-to-week, and living out of state at the time! Needless to say, I was under self-pressure to "say yes to a dress". While I booked appointments for other bridal boutiques, I ended up coming back to Love Boat for several reasons.

Upon first entering Love Boat, you'll notice the bridal gown selection is limited but that's okay!! We still made it work; just keep reading :) You can't beat Irene's warm and relaxed personality. Although she is a businesswoman, never once did I feel pressured to purchase anything from her. I left with a dress in mind, but decided to browse other stores just to view options and be sure of what I wanted. One thing I appreciated (especially because I'm so indecisive & such a visual person) was her willingness in allowing me to come back and try on the dress again, maybe even two more times...you'll notice it's common for bridal boutiques to charge a fee after a second or third visit, but not Irene!

I ended up loving a dress elsewhere but because I gravitated towards Irene and wanting to do business with her, I texted Irene a picture and video of the dress I wanted. She did some research, found out info on the dress, & texted me back with a picture to confirm along with the cost she would charge me. Immediately, I was sold!!

We found a day for me to come in, take some measurements, and get the appropriate size dress ordered. Irene told me she'd text me when the dress arrived at the store so we could arrange another day for me to come in & have the seamstress (Esther) take additional measurements to have the dress fitted to my body. Because they were so amazing and accommodating, I asked about getting my cultural attire, which was designed & made in another country, tailored. Esther had me try it on there & suggested some modifications. I trusted her and I'm so glad I did. She knew what she was doing & was open to hearing my concerns! She even changed a few things, like the zipper, to make it more secure -- things I may have not even thought of myself.

I say this all to recommend that you visit Irene & Esther at Love Boat Bridal Boutique! You won't regret it! Tell me another bridal boutique with great customer service, that goes above & beyond to get you what you want, AND with affordable prices that are unbeatable because they include alterations in the cost. “My forever dress store!!! Ask for Maria I had been shopping for a work Christmas party dress for weeks but needed something classy but sexy and Doxa couture pulled it off for me. They had so many beautiful dresses but I was looking for a certain type of red, found the red at the store but wanted my dress to have flowers so Maria custom made me a beautiful red dress in just under a week I received compliments all night. Thank you again Maria for being so helpful and kind. The bad reviews are old give this store a shot I promise you, you will not regret it.”

“I had a good experience despite all the bad reviews. I am really glad I didn't get the rude lady lol or I would've left with nothing. The lady that helped us was very kind and sweet and patient. I didn't need to order anything custom or get anything tailored. I walked in looking for a flower girl dress for my three-year-old and there was plenty of options to choose from. She tried on five or six dresses, and we eventually fell in love with one which we found in a couple different sizes cause we weren't sure what size to get her. She ended up fitting in a one - two.also got a pretty sparkly headband. The pricing was not bad at all. Exactly what I would expect for a formal dress for a toddler everything that we tried on was between 70 and 150. Very happy with my experience.”
