“Hi-Fashion Fabrics is an old-school fabric store. Lots of fabric, sewing supplies, trims, buttons, and more but no crafts or home dec like Jo-Ann’s. I stopped by to purchase a brocade. I looked around and initially thought I’d leave empty handed. Fabric is piled on shelves so it is difficult to shop. But I preserved and dug through the bolts of fabric to find the perfect brocade. I saw lots of dressy fabric (e.g., chiffon), wool, vinyl, knits, cottons, fleece, rayon, and more. Check out the website for a complete list of fabric. There is a tailor onsite and wedding dresses for sale. There is a 3 percent discount if you pay cash, and a 10 percent discount if you pay cash on a Wednesday (believe that is the day). If you sew, I highly recommend this gem. It is important to support the traditional fabric stores. There is no parking lot and no parking on the street in front of the store. The store is on a corner. Turn the corner and park on the side street. There are no meters so parking is free. I suggest you hide all valuables and lock your car.”

“I was recommended Carole Kenney for my wedding dress alteration specifically because my dress is extremely complicated. Carole went absolutely above and beyond. She is an expert at alterations and dress design. She was incredibly knowledgable and knew exactly what to do fit my dress perfectly. She created me a bustle system for my heavy train and even made me a super adorable clutch made out of the leftover pieces of my dress that were removed to shorten the length. Her attention to detail and depth of understanding of complex dress design is incredibly impressive. I would not have trusted my dress with anyone else.

Carole also assisted my mom with her mother-of-the-bride dress. She was very kind to us over the course of the months that we worked with her. I could not recommend her enough, especially brides who are wanting to alter a Rue De Seine gown.”

“Went in with my sister last month to look for her quince dress and staff was super helpful. Unlike other places, they took their time with us and helped even though we didn’t have an appointment. They took us in and helped my sister find her perfect dress. She tried on different styles, colors and sizes. The girls who helped us were giving us their opinions based on what they know and we found it super helpful. I believe the girl who helped her try on dresses was Sayrah (not sure if spelling is correct) & the girl who helped us checkout was Andrea ! They didn’t have my sisters size in store but they placed the order & it came in quickly! All the staff was very nice and attentive which is greatly appreciated. Would definitely recommend this place! Definitely recommend having an appointment though so you can get the full experience?”

The experience felt safe, intimate, kind, and respectful. Go in with an open mind and have fun with the process- we ended up finding the perfect dress for me. Bring cash or have Zelle. “I normally don’t write reviews but I just HAVE to for this! I never knew about this place until I was looking for a senior ball dress. This store had so much options of dresses in all colors. The customer service stood out to me the most, I felt so comfortable and great in all dresses. I expected to only try a few dresses, but ended up trying 5+ dresses. After trying on each dress, the ladies gave advice for alterations and options for other colors. Even after driving for hours other stores, nothing topped in selections and customer service! Coming back the next day, I chose my dress and absolutely love it. This place is worth supporting and finding the perfect dress! There’s nothing I would chance about this experience :)”

“Great experience at Ethnic Bollywood. Finding men’s Indian clothing in Sacramento, especially last minute, can be tough but this place made it easy. The owner was warm, welcoming, and really helpful with sizing and fit, even while juggling other customers. You can tell she cares.

Nice selection, especially for men. I’d recommend coming here first.

Also, I’d skip Little India Designer Studio. The owner there is rude and it’s not worth the experience.”

I would recommend if anyone needed an outfit to come to this store first since it has all you may need! “My daughter's friend recommended this shop. We agreed we'd check it out but didn't honestly expect to find anything in her style here. Wow, were we wrong! The store was bustling with customers but the mother/daughter pair that run the place greeted us warmly and asked what we were looking for. They were SO kind, cheerful, and helpful our entire visit. Exceptionally nice ladies. The store is clean and well lit, though the dressing room area could have better lighting and larger mirrors. There's a forest of mannequins at the front and middle of the store wearing a selection of different dresses (and men's formal wear), which is fun to see because the rest of the space is crammed with hanging dresses, sparkly accessories, and catalogs. I dare you not to find something beautiful here. I wanted to have an event to attend just so I could buy a gown! Be prepared to dig--the racks are packed--so many dresses, so crammed together, sizing in no particular order. It was overwhelming to sift through on our own. But somehow, the owner knows exactly her inventory and where things are. She was like Mary Poppins, pulling dresses from here and there that we'd missed, once my daughter shared what she was after. We were also told that if they didn't have the size needed, it could be ordered and received in just a few days. Amazing! My girl tried on 5 or 6 gowns but was frustrated; none were yet The One. Then the owner magically produced a stunning red number from somewhere in the closet to Narnia that is this store. Daughter side-eyed it. She hadn't tried a single red dress during any of our prom shopping before that, but she put it on and her ENTIRE mood brightened. She emerged from the dressing room with this amazed, beaming smile like she'd just found the meaning of life in there. I told the owner, Lady, take my money. LOL Value wise, the dress seems well made. Materials and stitching don't feel cheap, and the price was reasonable compared to other stores with similar styles. I will definitely want to return here for future prom dresses for her. Tip: Bring the shoes you plan to wear, if possible. If you find a dress, the ladies can mark the hem for tailoring (which will be needed unless you happen to be 6'5") and will send it out to be altered for you for a fairly reasonable price. Otherwise, you'll have to return with your shoes to be measured. (Or you can go to your own tailor, cool, but definitely compare prices)”

“We didn’t end up finding the exact dress style my kid had in mind—she had a very specific vision—but I still felt the need to leave a glowing review. The staff here absolutely deserves a huge round of applause! They were incredibly professional, helpful, friendly, and never pushy.

The boutique offers an excellent selection with great availability, and there's no charge to try on dresses, which is such a refreshing policy. Appointments are recommended, and while the shop is on the smaller side, don’t let that fool you—it’s packed with knowledge, heart, and beautiful options.

“It’s disappointing to see all of the negative reviews, they almost scared me into not going at all. Luckily we took a chance after seeing the large selection of beautiful gowns on TikTok, and we had a great experience at Dalia’s Boutique. My daughter is extremely picky, the last school dance we shopped for we went to at least 6 stores before she found something. This time, we were struggling to find something perfect for senior ball. We did a lot of online browsing, Dalia’s was the first and only store we went to. My daughter fell in love with a dress in the first few minutes we walked in. The prom dresses were between $200-400 which is extremely reasonable, and the owner does FREE alterations (hemming is an additional fee). My daughter is really small and her dress needed a lot taken in, Dalia did an amazing job at the alterations and it fit literally like a glove AND dress was ready in a week. You literally cannot beat this kind of dress quality and service. They were very busy each time we came in, the customer service is good but you have to have fair expectations with the traffic they have in the store and it is a small family owned business, you aren’t going to get a ton of personalized time with all of the customers they have to serve. I am so glad that we took a chance and found the perfect gown. Highly recommend!”
