Hours: California State Fair offers an enjoyable experience with good indoor events and experiences. The garden section and Farmers Market areas are very special, calm and fun, including the Enchanted Forest. The beer garden is fun for trying beer and seltzers from all over the state. The fair has many things to see and do, with a live show with animals and a candy place. It is bigger and fancier compared to smaller fairs, with a monorail ride, beautiful garden area with a farmers market, fancy animal barns, a cool insect exhibit, massage chairs, and Smokey the Bear activities. Free food samples and stickers are awesome. However, the cost of rides is excessive with separate entry and parking fees. The fair is not open during the day on weekdays. Tickets are pricey, with a fast pass lane making waits longer. There was no shuttle back to the parking lot, and more shady areas are needed.
