Old Gold is a women's boutique selling new and mostly vintage clothes, shoes, accessories, jewelry, sunglasses, and gifts. It is a favorite vintage store with a super cool and killer selection of stuff, including beautiful antiques. The shop has a pretty good selection of blouses, sweaters, and socks, and its jewelry counter is the best for moderately priced popular styles and local handmade pieces, with items like 24k gold fill hoop earrings. The beautifully curated selections feature a nice mix of different clothing styles such as modern, bohemian, mod, grunge, and street wear, geared to the hip and trendy. The vintage items are in great condition. There is an eye-catching shoe wall with loafers, ballerina flats, casual walking shoes, and lots of boots including ankle, high heeled, and cowboy styles. The leather shoes are well conditioned with no dry cracking leather. Prices are above thrift but below vintage, and are always reasonably priced. It is described as a 'something for everyone' shop where one can find work clothes that are stylish and practical, as well as items like incense, greeting cards, candies, and stickers from local artists. The shop is located in the WAL Public Market building on R Street in the Historic R Street District in midtown Sacramento. The building is a converted turn of the century warehouse, and the whole vibe is one of local, independent small business collaboration. The staff is nice, super helpful, and friendly, making the place a lot of fun to visit.
Super fun vintage shop with a great eye for style. Everything feels curated and you can find pieces that stand out. Staff is friendly and the vibe is very Sacramento.
