“I came to learn this LEASH AND COLLAR from a review from a competitor. They would not want to bring business to that competitor as the owner is rude and not personable. Kinda like a " Karen" attitude! Which I myself can attest to that! Check the reviews yourself. Called this Leash and Collar, spoke with Patty, very sweet, calm & friendly demeanor and would explain every detail without screaming and giving you a "monster attitude" unlike the other one.Thank God, I found the place. And to top it all, 4.9 stars, the competitor is only 3.9. Where else do you go? Thank you Patty.”

“Close to home, quiet and very clean place. Wonderful staff and service. Had been going elsewhere for my 6 month old mini Pom and there's clearly a difference between the two shops for her overall experience.”

I've had my 2 dogs on The Farmers Dog for a while but wanted to find a local fresh human grade place nearby and I stumbled across Healthy Hounds driving around so I had to pop in and see what was offered. “I had a bittersweet experience with Finest exotic Bird Shop recently. Sadly, the bird I purchased passed away shortly after bringing it home. However, the compassion and professionalism shown by the shop during this unfortunate event were truly commendable. They offered a full refund without any hassle and expressed genuine concern for the situation. The staff also took the time to discuss what might have gone wrong and provided guidance on how to avoid potential issues in the future. It’s reassuring to see a business handle such delicate matters with empathy and integrity. I would still recommend finest Friends to any bird lover for their excellent customer service and ethical business practices.”

“Pet Supplies Plus in this location is a very big store with many items available for pets. They have most items for dogs, cats, birds, fish, etc. They have a self service area for dog wash by the owner. It is a lovely design in there. The parking lot is pretty busy, but I usually get parking within a short walk.”

“When we lived in East Sac, the Pet Dept. Store was our go-to place. Stopping in for a cat scratcher the other day made me realize it's worth the drive, no matter where in Sacramento one lives. They go the extra mile to make sure that you and your pets are taken care of.”

“Today I was provided with outstanding customer service by a young lady named, Paige. Paige took the initiative to price match a dog 49ers jersey for my wife and I, and she was quite informative in the store and it's products as well as the policy of the company. We need more young ladies like her in the work force to lead and grow our companies.”

“Petco was the only business I found in the area that sold the item I needed. They were friendly and helpful in helping find the item. And in addition, since all of their carts had been stolen, an employee carried the heavy bag to my car.”

“The owner is so nice, and spoils my pup every time I go in with her! My pup loves the cookies, and cake from here! My girl is a senior pup with only 5 teeth left, and the cookies she makes are not super hard. I. Fact they are soft, and easy for my pup to enjoy! Highly recommend this place! Cute little shop with also lots of cute doggie boutique wear, if your pup is a fashionista.”

“My fiancé and I mainly come here for the dog wash. You can purchase a dog wash package (5 for $60) that gets added to your account. The employees are super friendly here and are great about making sure the dog wash is clean and ready for each customer, which is highly appreciated. There's only two dog wash stations, but there's usually one available whenever we've stopped by. The space between each dog wash station is enough for each person to move around comfortably, but is a fairly enclosed space (that's blocked off by a baby gate), so just a heads up if you happen to have a reactive dog. With the dog wash, you get access to an apron, towels, choice of shampoo, a dog bath brush, and a force blow dryer for your use. There's a shelf you can utilize as well if you end up bringing your own supplies, which we typically do. Having gone to other dog washes, we've ultimately decided this is our favorite due to cleanliness. Highly recommend!”

“In Land Park and looking for a pet supply store, we thought why not "Land Bark." My hubby and I were in the need of 2 things and staff member Angel was amazingly helpful! She showed us how to use the Spot Handi Drink Instant Dog Drinker we purchased, as well as their spout outside to fill it up! Definitely convenient for parks and road trips! She also recommended the company we love, Earth Rated for poop bags! We got the leak-proof Lavender-Scented, the bags are nice and long and they really block the odors! I would definitely recommend this small business that focuses on the wellbeing of your fur child! They have been in business now for 14 years. We'll be back to explore more!”

“My elderly cat is needing more nutritious options. I didn’t feel like I needed help selecting canned cat food. At the second offer of assistance, I accepted information. I am so appreciative of the knowledge of food, and brands. I and my cat are very happy with the food I purchased. I will be returning soon to stock up.”

“Our kids wanted a hamster, so we went to PetSmart on 1738 Watt Ave, Sacramento, CA 95825. A kind lady, Candie, was awesome. She explained everything to us and told us many helpful facts, that it is better not to buy a pair of hamsters because after a while they can eat each other. She let us pet all hamsters and one bit her. She showed us chinchillas, explained their behavior, and let us pet them as well.  Then, because our son was hesitating what to take and decided to see cats in their store, Candie let us pet all cats. We left the store completely satisfied with our experience there and with knowledge we got from Candie. So, now we are waiting for our kids' decision about what pet to choose.”

“The cashier/clerk/customer service member whatever you refer to them as was very nice. I parked out back because I had my dog with me and he started howling when I walked away, another worker was out there doing stuff and comforted my dog which was nice to hear/see. All in all a great experience.”

“I love to check out the pet stores, not only for my dog and fish. I like to see they have new items or any cute animals or beautiful fish in there. This PetSmart in Delta Shores Shopping Center is one of the stores I like to visit. The store is pretty big and they usually have many cute animals. I love to see they're playing inside their cage. I try not to bring them home! LolThe employees here are always friendly, especially at the fish department.”

“I bought my sister a Sulcata from here (first time tortoise owners and we're still learning). The cashier was super nice, helpful and knowledgeable. He was patient with my questions and helped me pick out the baby tortoise. My sister got the tortoise sick so I called this place because the cashier says we're welcomed to call anytime if we need advice or help. Hands down, they care about their reptiles and recommended us two different pet clinics for exotic animals. We were able to take it to the vet and give it antibiotics. Totally recommend this place for anyone who want a tortoise.”

“I loved pet stores. PetSmart in Natomas is one of the stores I'll visit when I am in the area. The store is pretty big. But it seems they have way fewer animals in there this time. All the pet supplies are still organized very well and easy to find. The workers here are also friendly and the checkout line is fast.”

The merchandise is very well organized. The adoption center is well maintained. The staff is also friendly and offers assistance. The checkout counter is fast.”

“I have been going here for the past year to get my dog washed and get his hair cut but it wasn't till this last cut that I was really SO happy with it. Kinga M. Was my dog's groomer and she took such great care of him.She was thorough in explaining the difference in just a nail trip and getting them buffed, and gave him the best haircut. Every time I look at him I think of how pleased I am with the way his haircut turned out. He's a poodle so he got a little puffball Mohawk on top of his head and he usually comes out with it looking kind of funny.. but this time it's really even and cute. Thanks Kinga!”

“TLDR: Don't listen to the reviews here and check it out for yourself to see the reality.Great Place! Family owned and ran, true mom and pop shop. Their variety of animals is fantastic and their prices are insanely good. Very friendly folk that are great to sit and chat with and the owners son is an absolute joy who loves to share his very apparent love of the place with you too. Very friendly, helpful and informative. You can tell the people who run this are close and they care about everything in there and their customers. Their fish section is great and their reptile section is insane for such a small shop. Fell in love with this place mostly because they actually give their reptiles on display fresh cut veggies rather than pellet foods like big box stores do. I didn't see any appropriately sized long term rodent cages for sale, but they sold /properly sized/ wheels like 12 inch wodent wheels and extra large silent spinners which was great. I think a lot of folk here have to realize that their shop, isn't meant to be a long term living situation for these creatures, but rather a transitionary one to their new homes. They have adequate conditions given their space and stocking and with the mindset that they are temporary. You as the potential new pet owner are the one who's meant to provide the luxury life and they are doing the best they can with their space. Their baby rats, although not hand raised, didn't bite even when just grabbed from above and they breed their own, so if you wanted one as a pet, I'd say contact them to learn their schedule to grab one young. What they had animal wise that I saw: Hairless rats, normal rats, mice, syrian (teddy bear) hamsters, house geckos, tarantulas, ball pythons of many morphs, many uniquely colored leopard geckos, iguanas, anoles, chinese water dragons, guinea pigs, blue tongued skinks, savannah monitors, baby beardies, tortoises, turtles, frogs and more. Their bird section had sun conures, cockatiels of various colors (including available breeding pairs), diamond doves, budgies, canaries of many sorts, domesticated pidgeons and many more that I can't recall in hind sight. Their bird cages weren't terribly crowded like some pictures might lead you to believe and I definitely recommend checking it out for yourself before forming an opinion on it.They also have a massive red iguana on display that's friendly enough to pet and I was relieved to see one of that size with all it's toes, tail, dorsal and caudal spines perfectly in tact. You can tell it's well loved and extremely well cared for.Go check this place out and support small businesses in Sac!”
