About Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern California
Ronald McDonald House Charities is a wonderful place that provides care and comfort for families with children who need medical treatment far from home. It is especially helpful for families living more than 30 miles from Sacramento, near UC Davis or Shriners hospitals. The staff is known for being kind, caring, and helpful, making guests feel safe and supported during difficult times. Many reviews highlight the clean and spacious rooms, including duplexes that comfortably fit entire families. Guests appreciate the welcoming environment, with some describing it as a safe place to relax and even feel like they had a vacation despite challenging circumstances. The House offers amenities such as blankets, food, drinks, and a place to sleep, which are highly valued by families in need. Some reviews mention small issues like limited food options and a hot water temperature that can be scalding if not careful, but these are minor compared to the overall positive experience. Families also find it beneficial to connect with social workers for additional support, and many are grateful for the free or affordable stay, with a small fee of $20 per night if they can pay. Overall, Ronald McDonald House Charities is seen as a compassionate and supportive place that makes a difficult time more manageable for families with sick children.

We felt very safe and cared for. The room was very clean. The only issues were the TV would not play anything but PBS, and the hot water was scalding hot if you weren't paying attention.
