Southside Park is a large and beautiful city park with a phenomenal pond where ducks swim. It is very nice for walks, tennis, basketball, and pickle ball. The park features a big, fantastic playground for kids, with a dual play area for older and younger children. This playground has outer space themed features, a merry-go-round, slides, a rocking balance beam, a climbing wall, spinning toys, bridges, and raised paths, making it great for play and tag. There is a picnic area with seating and trees for shade. A corner market nearby provides drinks. The public bathrooms, however, are consistently described as not great, atrocious, and nightmare fuel, and are sometimes locked. The park is popular with locals and can get busy, though some areas may have homeless individuals. Construction crews are sometimes seen working on improvements.
Walked the park. Reminiscing with husband our youth, swimming at pool, watching fire work exhibits and boat racing back in the late 60s with parents.

The environment felt clean and comfortable, and there were plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Overall, it’s a good park to unwind and spend some quiet time outdoors.
