Vallarta Supermarkets is a Latino version of Safeway with pros and cons. The store is very clean, 100x cleaner than larger chain stores, with a pleasant shopping ambiance. It provides a great selection of items, including high-quality grocery products, meats, produce, bakery, and floral. There are lots of fresh fruit and veggie options that can't be found elsewhere, along with wonderful fresh tortillas and an abundance of baked goods. The bakery continues to be strong and the produce aisle is still amazing. There is a variety of Latino and Filipino goodies and lots of food options at the deli section. However, the food quality has gone down quite a bit. Some prepared items, like chicken, carnitas, and pork grinds, are saltier than they used to be. Other items, like wedges, are not cooked all the way, and the shrimp can be very chewy. Prices are a little high, but not awful. The service is amazing, with friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to take care of the clients.

They have the cheapest green juices in Monterey County. Whatever you buy it is fresh!

I usually go there for their cheese or pineapple tamales which are really good . Parking is plentiful here so I'll give this place a 4 1/2 stars. I'd recommend for sure
