“Been to this place twice now to fix up my bikes, it's an amazing asset to the community!
Every time I went I learned a lot about bikes that I was missing, not to mention I paid a fraction of what I would have in a full-service bike shop. You get out what you put in, the are mechanics at hand, with varying degrees of experience, but you are expected to do most of the fixing yourself. I found that as long as you are actively trying to fix your bike, even if you are struggling, one (or more) of the mechanics will eventually come by and help out.”
“We absolutely love our village! We started looking into daycare options when we were expecting our second child. We were super interested in the co-op structure of the school and were impressed by the sense of community we saw during our tour. Our daughter started at VNS at 2 after being home with us her whole life, and we have been so amazed by how she has blossomed. Going to school is a huge highlight of her week-- she loves running into school every morning to see her teachers and friends. She comes home excited about all of the projects she gets to do. The teachers are patient, attentive, and so invested in our daughter's growth and we’re constantly touched by how other parents genuinely care about her too. I could not recommend it more!”
“I have fostered with Toni’s for over two years and their kittens are amazing. They specialize in bottle fed kittens which makes them incredibly friendly and social. Their adoption process is thorough, straight forward and supports everyone involved. They are experts at getting you the right kitty for your family and are incredibly supportive throughout the process ! I love volunteering with them and recommend adopting from them.”
“Fantastic location with beautiful murals covering the building. Everyone was extremely welcoming and happy to chat. Definitely recommend if you're near Dolores Park or general Mission Area!”

“Pure love, from the food to the staff, and especially the volunteers, they have infinite patience and you can feel how much they care, unlike a lot of other places. They deserve WAY more respect than they get. Wish they would do breakfast again; missing their awesome oatmeal and pancakes. Without it, I only give them 5 stars, instead of 10! Wholesome, filling, and packed with nutrition, but no meat .”
“A Tranquil Oasis in Nature - Ananda Valley FarmThe farm's commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming practices is evident throughout the property. Guided tours offered insights into the cultivation methods”
“I have been a lifetime member for 10 years and have been coming to shoot for 20 years. This 200 acres is a wildlife preserve as well as a world class archery range supporting all archery disciplines except horseback archery. This includes Olympic style FITA as well as: traditional, field, roving, 3D, Asian, thru two walking ranges and numerous special events. Anyone with a bow or without a bow is welcome. We share the range with foxes, raccoons, deer, bobcats, mountain lions, turtles, wild turkeys, raptors, chipmunks, geese, ducks and coyotes. All are welcome and protected because we are a shooting range; self maintain and appreciate this beautiful pristine parkland. And unlike many firearms ranges, visitors and members are respectful, aware, helpful and friendly.”
“My wife and I were married at the San Mateo Arboretum in June of 2019, it just occurred to me I should post a review! We were very happy with the venue, we had the wedding out in the garden with about 52 people. We used the Pump House to stage things, and had the buffet tables outside. We were able to bring in a catering truck with a pizza oven, and the caterer provided the servers to stage the food and serve the drinks. Our contact helped us with the logistics and was there for the event, when there was an issue with another event in the park blocking the access she quickly worked it out with them and got the path cleared. There are some limitations to work with: no real kitchen for cooking, no dishwashing, and the interior would be cramped for 45 people, so hope for clear weather and bring a mobile caterer. Don't expect to play really loud music or have a big dance party on the grass. But for a small low-key wedding the garden is fantastic, and makes a wonderful backdrop. The price is very affordable, and we were able to book it with 4 months notice, so it was a very good option for us... Highly recommended if it fits your needs!”
“Words cannot express how grateful I am to the medical team at SPCA for providing such world-class, empathetic, compassionate care to my previous love bug, Chestnut.
He had a critical medical episode due to an underlying condition. I called them ahead of my arriving and they were fully prepared for my arrival, remembered my cat’s name from the call hours before, and acted swiftly to stabilize him.
The veterinarian came in to deliver the news I was sadly expecting, but did it in such a way that honored the decision I knew I needed to make. They gave me all the time in the world to feed him delicious treats and a final meal, hold him, sing to him, and then hold him as he gently went “to sleep.”
While I am heartbroken, the experience was beyond all expectations and they made it possible for my beloved angel to have a dignified, honorable transition.
Thank you, SPCA, for making his end of life a truly gentle and compassionate transition. Thank you for meeting me where I was at, and for walking with me through it all and helping me into my new chapter without my best friend.
Please never stop the work you do. I cannot express how critical it is to our community.”

“I had a wonderful experience at San Francisco Women Artists Gallery in the Inner Sunset. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional, they really make you feel comfortable taking your time and exploring the space.
The gallery itself is beautifully laid out, with thoughtfully curated displays that highlight a wide range of contemporary art. I was especially impressed by the quality and variety, stunning oil and acrylic paintings, unique sculptures, and beautifully crafted handmade jewelry. The window displays are also fantasticas they draw you in and showcase some truly eye-catching pieces.
What really stands out is the organization’s mission and community focus. As a historic nonprofit, SFWA does an amazing job supporting and promoting Bay Area artists while creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for visitors. You can feel that sense of purpose throughout the gallery, it’s not just a place to view art, but a space that actively builds community and uplifts artists at all stages of their careers.
The location is perfect too, right in the vibrant Inner Sunset near Golden Gate Park, making it an easy and enjoyable stop whether you’re local or visiting.
Overall, this is a gem in San Francisco. If you’re looking to support local (especially women) artists while experiencing high-quality, thoughtfully presented work, this is definitely a place to visit and purchase quality artworks.”
“Really great and popular library! Nice high atmosphere for both quiet study spaces and conversational areas for tutoring or wfh spaces.Bathrooms pretty clean for a public library”
“A great resource - hired a couple of workers for the glamorous job of digging a hole in heavy clay and hauling rocks and sand. You know, the stuff we are just too old to do ourselves. The folks in the front office were very welcoming and quickly found two for the task. Hard workers, especially after my wheelbarrow broke (its old, like me) and they had to haul drain rock in buckets to the back of the property.”
“My sister was at her happiest when she lived here with the other sisters. They live their lives in praise of Our Lord while helping others to know His love.
Thank you for all that you do, sisters!”
“I did this in 2018 and it was so nice having a specific running buddy with me to support me. Super fun, safe environment, kind and supporting group, and boosted my confidence.”
“Incredible space with a diverse selection of ceramics by talented local artists and craftspeople. Lessons and drop-in were both great experiences. Beautiful selection of glazes and shinos. People in the studio are always friendly and happy to share knowledge”

“My daughter has volunteered at Double J Ranch for a couple of years. Joe and Arlene treat the horses with the utmost care, which is costly. If you are inclined to donate to a worthy cause, Double J is little gem that provides the community with fun holiday celebrations.”
“I just finished the workshop and I feel less fearful and less anxiety about my divorce proceedings. The workshop was organized and the experts provided much information and so many resources. This is a really challenging time and after this morning's workshop, I realize that I can stop worrying about where to go and who to talk to for advice and support. I'm hoping to move forward with clarity. Thank you.”
“I have had the distinguished pleasure of collaborating with Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center in multiple initiatives aimed to promote a positive school climate, cultivate vibrant professional peer support networks and restore trusting relationships with community partners. Staff is racially/culturally diverse with shared lived experience and expertise in interrupting inequities and building shared leadership.”
“The Burlingame Chamber has been very helpful and welcoming. Susan Baker has been a fantastic resource and super supportive as we get started.
We would highly recommend to any business owner in the area.”
“To the amazing teachers, Genesis is going to 1st Grade, thank you all for really getting my son ready academically for Kindergarten, his teacher Ms.Cristiina also sends hugs and thanks, she proudly had Genesis in her classroom she asked me once very early in the year and very curiously where Genesis had gone to preschool and I proudly named The Good Samaritan over there on Potrero!
He explored so much there he learned gracefully. My son attended The Good Samaritan 2020-2021
Thank you for being an amazing impact on our son.”
“The best on all issues effecting Bernal Heights - great on community organizing, affordable housing development and preservation, and services for seniors and youth. Has hundreds of members. Fights for economic and racial/ethnic diversity on the Hill. Deserves to and does speak for and represent Bernal Heights.”
“Judy H and the volunteers who help clean and feed the cats there are the best!!! The place is also spotless and doesn’t smell. You can tell they take pride in caring for their cats. I highly recommend adopting from them.”
