“Designer’s Brass Inc. is one of those rare Bay Area businesses that reminds you why long standing local companies matter.
I went in looking for a difficult old hardware part, and I was honestly blown away by the knowledge, the selection, and the customer service. This is not the kind of place where you are forced to order something online and hope it fits. You walk in, explain what you need, and they actually understand old hardware, new hardware, specialty locks, brass parts, decorative hardware, and pieces you would never find in a regular store.
The facility itself is incredible. So much to see. So many parts. New, old, specialty, hard to find, and beautifully made hardware everywhere. It is the kind of place that only exists because of decades of experience and real commitment to customers.
I feel very fortunate that we still have a company like this in the Bay Area. Knowledgeable, courteous, well stocked, and still doing business the old fashioned way, with real people, real inventory, and real service.

“We had 4 bathrooms reglazed with Miracle Method, including the floors, shower and bathtub. The results are transformative. I love the new surface. It's so easy to clean and the bathrooms look modern and bright without that clinical look that I have seen with other reglazing companies.

The job took over a week, but it was really painless. Milo worked with so much respect for our home, keeping everthing clean and covering the floors outside the bathrooms. He also used large fans to make sure that the smell was not too strong so we were able to stay home throughout the process.”

“We are currently in the process of a whole house remodel with Gilmans and could not be happier with the process. Since we knew it was going to be a big project we spent a great amount of time finding the right partner to and we found it in Gilmans. The designer, Rashad, is amazing at being able to take our thoughts and ideas and put together a cohesive look and feel for the entire house. We were appreciative in his approach of getting to know us and then bringing in fresh ideas based on his knowledge and experience.

We are early in the build stage and every step of the way the whole team has been communicative and organized in keeping things on schedule. We receive weekly update emails that keep us abreast of progress and updates.

“Sam was great to work with. He came to my house two days after I cold called him. He measured and drew up plans by the next day. I visited the store a couple of times after that to pick wood for my cabinets. No one in the shop did a hard-sell, and Sam was happy to draw up new plans as my project changed. He also made great suggestions for design. My cupboards are gorgeous! I LOVE them. They came exactly on time. And everyone in the shop was very communicative with me.”

“Horizon Renovation remodeled our kitchen and got it done surprisingly quickly, and on budget. I have never worked with a contractor who worked as consistently on a project--one week they came 6 days! It really blew me away, as I've had contractors who would take entire weeks off. I was prepared to have the project take over a month, and they got it done in 3 weeks. Their work ethic is extremely impressive.They not only did the work we asked, they gave us some design suggestions that turned out to be very helpful. They were responsible, responsive, and did good work. The only thing they could have done better was dust mitigation; also, they do not automatically provide debris removal, but you can request it, or find your own hauling service (which I did). Not only did Lutz handle the toilet purchase, they also coordinated the electrician (Eddy), the dry walling and painting (once again Eddy), made some plumbing modification, and installed the toilet (Julien). He mirrored the original design, added improvements to it, and gave me a lead time that was better than any of the other showrooms.
