The Bernardo Winery, established in 1889, is a wine, dining, and shopping destination in North County San Diego, in the town of Rancho Bernardo. Open Wednesday through Sunday, the winery produces wine from San Diego grapes, using both old methods and modern viticulture practices. Visitors can enjoy wine tasting, wine by the glass or bottle, as well as house-made sangria on tap. In addition to the winery, the property is home to a village of shops, an Italian restaurant with casual walk-up service, a gelato and sweet shop, and a coffee roaster. A Farmer's Market is held every Friday from 9 am to 1 pm. Pets are not permitted on the winery grounds, with the exception of ADA-recognized service dogs. The Bernardo Winery is a popular venue for special events, including weddings. Reviewers praise the beautiful natural scenery, attentive staff, and excellent food and wine offerings. The coffee was good but the the egg sandwich was Just ok. Great place to just hang out or sit in the patio.

A lovely time at Christmas! The staff was very friendly, the shops were delightful, the wine was delish, and I look forward to going back again. I most definitely would recommend.

Stunning location, great service and tasting experience. The wines, apart from the the delicious Cab Franc, weren't exactly to my liking (and they were out of Zinfandel and Cab Sav), but the whole experience was worth it, and it was so relaxing and picturesque.
