“We stopped here for some after dinner drinks. What a great decision! We really enjoyed the ciders and the seltzers. Excited to try some of the best next time we come. There was trivia the night we were there and there are patio heaters to keep you warm in the evening. Would recommend for tourists and locals!”

“Only in California can you watch a movie on the outdoor patio of a hotel in the middle of winter! Though it was a little breezy - they do offer blanket rentals for $14 and you're welcome to bring your own! No outside food or drinks allowed, but their bar has tons of options and many snacks to choose from.There's a variety of movies they play here. I particularly like that they play older movies here! From La La Land to 50 First Dates to Top Gun... I was tempted to watch them all! They also play movies that were currently out in movie theatres and on Netflix too. On the day of the super bowl, they also stream the game! Expect some dog-friendly events to come up soon too.My boyfriend and I shared a loveseat, which is first come first serve. For $18 each and it included popcorn - this was a great deal! We watched 500 Days of Summer (2009) this past Monday and it was so fun. I would love to come back here again!!!”

“Fun time. Great energy. You can request songs vi a paper/pencil (found on all tables). It helps if you give money donations to the pianist. $15 cover on the Friday we went. Overcrowded.”

“The 1 week course for Gaslamp Bartending school was rigorous, intense, and absolutely worth every penny. Nino and Joe don't just teach the mechanical in's and out's of making cocktails, but offer a framework of how to absorb information, and think efficiently. In the end, whether it be about upselling drinks to learning how to maintain a peaceful bar, it is about giving customers a pleasant experience, and getting what you deserve as a bartender. What's more, however, is that you are not just thrown out into the world after graduating having to build your own resume with what you have and land interviews in the same old way... After graduating, Nino spends hours just covering the best methods and strategies on how to land an interview, and set yourself apart from others. Also, he offers to give feedback on your tailored bartending resume to make it look professional, but at the same time fitting to where you want to work, and is willing to maintain long-term connections to follow along and help your journey in bartending.To say the least, I am extremely grateful and satisfied to have learned from the invaluable experience of both Nino and Joe, and am excited and hopeful to see what my brightened future in bartending has in store for me.Thank you Nino and Joe!”

“The local organist had a great sense of humour in addition to being an incredible musician. There was a technical issue with the organ but he adapted and improvised without missing a beat. Amazing that these concerts are free. Would have paid gladly to watch him!”

“My girlfriend and I came here on a whim. She was fascinated by the whole concept of axe throwing, while I was a bit skeptical. I must admit that we had an absolute blast!Our axe coach, Xander, was amazing. Not only is he highly skilled, he's very patient and encouraging for new throwers. Within fifteen minutes, we were throwing axes and hitting our targets like champs.As an aside, you can also get training on throwing knives and screwdrivers. I know it sounds insane but I actually saw Xander hit a bullseye from seven or eight yards out...throwing a *screwdriver.* The dude's legit -- like Jason Bourne or something. We left with a huge appreciation for throwing and will definitely be back.”

“The grounds are beautiful, especially in the spring time when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.My one complaint is that we were told that the lower gardens close at 6:30pm, so around 6:40pm we were in the upper lot (which is supposed to be open until 7:00pm) taking pictures of the wisteria. We were right by the exit yet one of the staff members proceeded to kick us out saying “we’re done with pictures, it’s time to go” in an unpleasant tone. She took the calm vibes right out of a peaceful setting. For a “friendship garden”, not very friendly.”

“Flora is hands down the most beautiful venue with a dream team behind it. We used Flora for our wedding in July and it was the most perfect day. From our first meeting with Katherine, we felt the magic flora has to offer. Everyone was so quick to respond to emails, phone calls and texts. They provided a list of rockstar vendors that made our day even more perfect. Erin helped us with a bar package that fit our needs and was so pleasant to work with. Jameson was so kind in getting us all organized and ready for the big day. The star of the show was our coordinator Amanda. She helped us think about and plan every single small detail. She set up the venue in the most magical way possible and made sure EVERYTHING was perfect. She put J.Lo in the Wedding Planner to shame. Our guests cannot stop talking about the wedding even months later and we can't thank Flora and the team enough for the most beautiful and perfect day we could've asked for. Working with Flora's team felt like working with our best friends. Thank you so so much!”

“Over the years I have dined at The Godfather Restaurant with friends and family. This time I invited 21 family members there to celebrate my milestone birthday. The staff was so friendly when I'd call to ask about or change something. We had our own private room and the waiters were excellent. They didn't mind that we were not in our seats right away or that we wanted separate checks by family. The tables were set up where everyone could see everything, we all loved the food, waiters cut the birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday with us....it was so much fun. The staff worked hard but they looked like they enjoyed celebrating with us. They are a class act. Everybody had a wonderful experience dining at The Godfather.”

“The Point was the perfect venue for our wedding! Not only is the space both beautiful and fun, Kiana, Jasleen, and the team were incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process, taking time to understand our vision and providing exceptional input and guidance along the way. I loved how supportive, responsive, and practical they were in answering all of our questions. We were looking to do many things ourselves from decorations to DJing to finding our own vendors and they made it easy to do so. It was incredibly helpful that they have all the chairs, tables, sound system(s), games, and outdoor seating included. The tables are beautiful and don't require linens. There were so many details already taken of by The Point that we could just focus on the fun parts of designing the event and planning the details we cared most about.On the day of the wedding Gracie, Elizabeth, and Jasleen helped ensure things ran smoothly. As the bride, it was a huge weight off my shoulders knowing that we were in such capable hands. Our friends and family are still raving about the venue and how fun the entire event was. We can't recommend The Point highly enough if you're looking for a beautiful venue, fantastic staff, and a wonderful experience!”

“My 15 year old son was so skeptical when I told him we were going to AxeVentures. We had such an amazing experience from the minute we walked in the door. The instructions given to us were so well explained, our host instantly made my son comfortable. My son and I had such a great bonding time, he wants to have his birthday party there this year. We paid for the bleeding zombie and it was so worth it. We even did a Rage room after and that was fun as well.”

“The food at Nine-Ten is amazing. We had their sashimi to start and it was full of flavor and a lovely touch of acidity. We had the duck as an entree, which came with a pretty decent amount of meat, and asparagus and mushrooms on the side. I'm definitely not doing it justice in the description but it was delicious and filling. Not my favorite duck I've ever had but still tasted great. My favorite part was their half baked chocolate cake. It was the perfect cherry on top of a great meal.”

“Whenever we go to San Diego and have the opportunity we visit white la s. For us, the exercise of trying the same style of beer with two different yeasts is very interesting. On this occasion we also needed some raw material and the guy who served us at the bar was very kind and saw a way to fill our order at once. A person from the warehouse came and in a matter of minutes opened the account for us as customers and gave us what we were looking for.”

“I did a wine tour recently on January 27th and Bernardo Winery was my first stop. I let them know in advance I was coming and they said absolutely you and your group can come on by. We sat in the inside wine area has the outside was full. There was a lot of seeding so it was great for my group. We had 16 to 18 of us. The whole property is amazing with all the little shops. This is my second time at this Winery and I wanted to go check out the shops but again time just slipped away from me. I definitely will be coming back again though. Several of my friends got food and it all looked delicious. Also the prices on the wine cannot be beat. It's about $15 a glass and then bottles start at $32. So do yourself a favor and just go for that bottle. It was fantastic seeing that their bottles did not start at $60 plus like a lot of wineries in the area do. My friends all told me this was their favorite stop on my wine tour. The staff was an absolute Delight.”

“My 8yo just finished up Spring Break Camp at APEX and I can’t say enough good things about her experience. I found APEX through Google searching and reading reviews. She’d never been to a camp before so she was very nervous showing up the first day. To say she fell in love with this place is an understatement. The coaches were all so helpful and welcoming. Everyday I picked her up she’d tell me about all of the fun she had and how she couldn’t wait to go back. 10/10 recommend the camps and look forward to trying some of the classes and open gym options!”

“I had my wedding at MBWC this past July and I had a great experience. The club is in a great location in Mission Beach and there are many vacation rentals and hotels nearby for guests to stay at. Nancie was my main contact with the venue and she was so kind and extremely quick to answer my emails and questions. Lori gave us the tour of the club and we ended up hiring her to do our bouquets and table arrangements as well as day of coordinating and she was great. The flowers were exactly what I wanted and she really helped make our day run smoothly. I loved the fact that we were able to bring in outside vendors, which was the main selling point for my husband and I. I would definitely recommend MBWC.”
