The Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town is a beautiful and huge hotel with a pretty property in an excellent and central location. It is right in the heart of Old Town San Diego, literally a walking distance to everything. Guests can walk to Old Town, many restaurants, sightseeing tours, antique shopping, and other tourist venues. Once parked, there is no need to use a vehicle. The area is generally safe to walk, though as with any place, being aware of surroundings in the evening is advised. The hotel itself is secured with plenty of cameras. The rooms are described as nice, cozy, and clean with amazing views, high ceilings, and an old town atmosphere. Amenities include a fridge and Keurig coffee. However, some guests feel the rooms need an upgrade and that the property is run down and old. A significant negative incident involved staff checking guests into an occupied room and later deactivating keys, which management later addressed with an apology and refund. Other issues mentioned include spotty and slow Wi-Fi, occasional parking shortages despite a fee, and a past overcharge refund problem. The hotel features a restaurant on the top floor, and the cleaning staff are noted as helpful and conscientious. Many guests love the location and views, stating they will definitely come back.

My wife and I have been coming here for about 10 years now. We absolutely love the convenience of the location and the rooms are nice and spacious. The staff is absolutely incredible and very helpful l.

In the heart of Old Town San Diego. Very walkable to explore & shuttle bus. A convenient location. The Tequila Factory is not easy to find but the food was good.
