“The location was great in the middle of the gas lamp district. Staff was fantastic especially Alan who checked us in and gave us tips on where to visit and eat! Rooms were clean and nicely decorated with the pineapple theme. Would stay again!!”

“Stayed one night after a missions trip to Mexico and again for a 5 day stay in June 2026. Charming traditional hotel. Pretty lobby complete with books and DVD library for the room. Breakfast included waffles, cereal, oatmeal, boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, toast, juice, coffee etc. Staff was friendly. King Room was clean. Bed is comfortable . There are charging stations on the nightstand. My room on the third floor had plenty room, a microwave and mini frig, coffee maker, and there is an elevator which requires your room key to operate so I appreciated that extra level of security. I can't imagine any hotel being more convenient to everything. Average of 15 minutes to beaches, restaurants, Balboa Park, Sea World, Old Towne, etc. We arrived early in the morning and they allowed us to store our luggage until our room was ready, which was before 3p which was nice. Would definitely stay here again.”

“We spent the past weekend for my husbands birthday and it was truly the best weekends I've ever had at a hotel! The staff is sooo friendly! The view is breathtaking, the pool is small but charming so if you're traveling with little ones it's the perfect pool and I got a one bedroom kitchen suite it's a cute room and it's decorated so beautifully and it comes with everything you need if you want to bring your own food and save and cook at the hotel or in my case my son has only safe foods that he will eat and I was able to do that because they provided everything! The only down side is there was ants in my room on the kitchen and on my bed sadly but the maintenance man came to spray raid and they went away the following night he changed the sheets for us and this just goes back to the staff being so great because they even gave us a discount for the inconvenience and I do not fault them at all because it's summer time by the beach bugs happen ❤ so anyways I will be returning and I love this hotel and want to make this a yearly trip for my family! Thank you to the staff again!”

“Absolute Jewel on the Pacific Beach waterfront. Best views of the Pacific and Crystal pier and JRDN restaurant on ground floor is still one of the best seafood restaurants on the waterfront.”

“I had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express San Diego Airport-Old Town! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and check-in was an absolute breeze, and the front desk ladies were efficient and friendly. What really made this experience stand out was the complimentary hot breakfast and its dedicated airport shuttle. We specifically chose this hotel for its convenient transport, and the shuttle was perfectly punctual. A massive shoutout to our driver, Nick! He was incredibly friendly, handled all our heavy luggage with a smile, and got us to the terminal safely and on time. If you are flying out of San Diego International Airport, I highly recommend staying here for a stress-free travel experience.”

“We were in town for a NASCAR event on Coronado Island and stayed a couple extra nights here. I’m glad we did because we had the most wonderful stay. It’s truly a time capsule of my youth. In a world that’s changed so much, it’s a rare feeling to find a place that still feels exactly like you remember it. Thanks again.”

“I had a great experience at this economical restaurant. It’s a perfect place for anyone who wants a satisfying meal without spending a lot of money. The prices are very reasonable, and the food quality is surprisingly good for such an affordable spot.
The dishes were fresh, tasty, and served in generous portions. The atmosphere was simple and relaxed, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a casual meal. The staff were friendly and quick to help, which added to the positive experience. Overall, this restaurant offers excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for delicious, budget-friendly dining.”

“Historic beauty in what has become my favorite location in San Diego. Easy walk into Hillcrest and to downtown. They remodeled the building keeping the historic nature in mind. The rooftop view is stellar with park views and bay views. I stay here monthly. If you happen to be here in St Pattys Day, it’s the perfect place to watch the parade. The parade doubles back so you can watch it on 6th and 5th Ave. The staff might be the best part of this experience. They are all super friendly and genuine. Mufasa is my personal favorite. Always smiling and ready for a conversation.”

“Very nice hotel, great location, friendly staff, clean rooms.
However, there are things to improve, the hair dryer is very old and barely blows any air.”

“This hotel is a little old, but in a great location. We paid around $200 a night for 5 nights. Excellent balcony views, excellent service. Great central location. We will stay here again in the future. Good underground parking.”

“I really enjoyed my 2 night stay here. I was in town for a work event. Location is great, walking distance to shops and restaurants in Old Town. Also a quick 10 min drive to Hillcrest, Little Italy or Balboa Park...VERY WELL LOCATED!

The room was very spacious, clean and very simple. AC worked great. The room I stayed in was at the end of the hall on 2nd floor next to the utility room and had windows facing the street. Other rooms have windows facing the hallways where you need to keep window shutters closed for privacy.

The waffle at breakfast was super fluffy and staff in all areas were very courteous, helpful and friendly.

I would stay here again.”

“We stayed at Hyatt House for a girls’ weekend and had such a fantastic experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was provided each morning — such a great way to start the day. Safety and a good night’s rest are so important to us, and this hotel delivered on both.

The highlight of our stay was Alan at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly and set the tone for an amazing weekend. His customer service skills are truly exceptional — attentive, responsive, and always going above and beyond whenever we needed anything.

He’s also funny and very personable, making every interaction enjoyable. You can tell he genuinely cares about guests and takes pride in what he does. Alan is the definition of outstanding customer service. Thank you for taking care of us, Alan!”

“The hotel only has valet parking for $65 a day/night. You have in and out privileges all day though. I believe until 9pm and then you have to pay for the next day automatically for valet but double check this. There’s a $35 resort fee each night and $200 deposit required at check-in. There's an option to park around the corner for way less though like $25 a day. It can be hard to get parking at these “ACE” public parking lots especially on the weekend. You can only park your car for a max of 10 hours too. I just remembered to pay for parking via the app though. This hotel is in a prime location where you can walk to the bars and restaurants.

The hotel reminds me of spring break and vacation. It’s cute and in a good area. The $65 a night valet parking was a bit too much IMHO. I would probably not stay here again for that alone but also the walk around the corner is not far at all. There were four free water bottles available by the coffee machine in your room. There was also water available by the elevator before you go up but it was empty by nighttime. So, if you are planning on going out, please bring enough water back to your room before.

There was a mini fridge in the dresser. I really liked that they had this. There's no jacuzzi but the pool is heated.”

“Love the Catamaran Resort! Awesome location on the ocean front . I visited the Spa facilities & had lunch in the patio area facing the ocean . Excellent customer service!”

“Super convenient, central spot that makes getting around SD incredibly easy. The full kitchen setup in the room is a huge plus, the property is kept very clean, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. dropping a star because the breakfast area gets tight and a bit chaotic during peak morning hours, and parking can be a bit tight. Overall, a fantastic, comfortable base camp for a San Diego stay!”

“Stayed here a while back but didn’t leave a review.
Wow this hotel is like a Time Machine taking you back to California’s Golden Age! The vibes, building and aesthetic are nostalgic. You almost forget what year it is!
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are what they are. Some negative reviews make no sense, so take those with a grain of salt.
It’s a hotel, not a bed and breakfast.
The facility is very well maintained and patrolled. The area is quiet and perfect for families or get away couples.
My only suggestion to the hotel is maybe offer some sort of breakfast option or restaurant voucher. I understand that’s how costs are kept low, but maybe even offer some sort of grab and go breakfast for people staying.
Other than that it’s perfect!”

“Nice rooms. Great location, city's layout helps a lot by having the airport, stadium, and Balboa park nearby.
The shampoo and other bath products seem to stain or decolor the shower tiles.”

“Hotel was beautiful, staff were awesome. Sabrina Martinez from HGV was great and very informative of the owner options and helped explain some owner benefits. Views are great and close to practically everything in downtown.”

“I stayed here with my family over the 4th of July weekend. It is definitely an older property but the rooms seem to have been renovated in the past 5 or so years, so be prepared for a shortage of electrical plugs. The standard rooms are also rather small but for a shorter stay it may not be a big deal. Moreover, the room was mostly clean, however we did find a used floss pick behind the corner chair and the area behind the dresser was shocking dusty. This hotel’s best quality was its proximity to many area attractions; Ocean Beach, Downtown, and Balboa Park were all less than a 15 minute drive away. The property was also very well connected to local trails and I enjoyed going on runs around the local area while I stayed. Overall a decent stay, and I might return on my next SD trip perhaps in a higher category room with a patio.”

“The two days that we staying, they were having issues with hot water in some rooms. It took at least 10 minutes for the water to get warm. They offered us another room, but we declined because we had already unpacked our suitcases and settled into the room.”

“Perfectly fine experience. Right by the beach which meant you could see and hear everything OB right outside your window. Dog friendly which is why we chose this spot.”

“I had a wonderful stay at TownePlace Suites San Diego. From the moment we arrived, Heather at the front desk was very welcoming, accommodating, and made the check-in process smooth and pleasant. Her friendly service really set a great tone for our stay.

The breakfast was good, with a nice selection to start the day. The location is also very convenient, making it easy to explore San Diego and nearby attractions.

Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and the warm hospitality—especially from Heather—made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Diego.”
