Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection by Hilton, is a well-maintained and modern hotel located close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. The building features solid modernist architecture and has recently undergone renovations, with some rooms being well-sized, updated, and offering nice features like balconies and large glass shower windows. Guests appreciate the great views of the ocean and sunset from certain rooms, as well as the beautiful landscaping around the hotel. The restaurant on the upper floor provides good breakfast options and an elegant dining experience, with friendly staff and tasty food including omelettes and half chicken. The hotel’s location allows easy access to the beach and nearby attractions, making it a popular choice for visitors. However, there are some drawbacks. The hotel has only two elevators, which are slow and often only one is working, causing inconvenience, especially for those on higher floors or with mobility issues. Noise from street traffic and construction can be substantial, so bringing earplugs is recommended for light sleepers. Some guests experienced discomfort with the softness of the mattress, and there were reports of noise from trucks early in the morning. Parking costs extra, but alternative street parking is available. Overall, Hotel La Jolla offers a great location and recent upgrades, making it a worthwhile stay despite some elevator and noise concerns.

Absolutely amazing desk service. Me and my family felt welcome and un-rushed. Diamond status was also acknowledged in the form of an upgrade (had to pay $40 though) which was the only hotel out of 4 that I stayed at this summer where that happened.

Beautiful, clean, and close to the downtown area. You won't have a view unless you're above the 4th floor. The restaurant on the top floor was great.
