Well Date of Visit : 12-17-2023 and we came here for a rental car and walked all around but it was hard to find help !! And parking of your own vehicle was kind of hard also !! Just waiting and Waiting to get our car !! It's such a pain !! They should hire more workers to help to speed up the process !! It is located in the San Diego international Airport and the service needs big improvement !! Well prepare to wait !! My overall experience is not so good but the process was a long haul and the prices were decent but it sure shows in the service !! Hopefully the next time around it would be a much improved experience !! I just could not believe how long it took to get my rental !! If you booked online and walk over to the booth early in the morning there were no one there so you have to go into the Dollar rental Building and wait in a long line !! Be Prepared !!

I wish I could have checked the review earlier. Picking up is a nightmare experience. Long wait..already 40 min in line. And watching the customers in front being asked to go exactly into the booking website so they can honor the price. They do not accept booking email confirmations.

Just like everyone else said, awful experience. Nice attendants when you pick up the car but don't let them fool you. Make sure you double check what you're getting charged. I denied insurance and then it was still added. When discussed at time of drop off, cashier and management will gas light you into thinking you agreed to the insurance. They also will bring out a third person to have standing there as some sort of intimidation tactic? If you say no to an added charge, Dollar should honor that. Not make you look through your receipt with a fine tooth comb. Do not recommend at all.

Worst rental car place ever. The average wait time is 2.5 hours according to other review. We waited for over an hour and still outside the door. I went up and talked to the agent was told it was like that everyday. She proudly told me they offer the best deal and advised me to cancel my reservation if I am not going to wait. This is a consistent problem and they are aware of it and failed to address the problem. I ended up taking Uber to downtown San Diego.

If I could leave a zero star I would! We prebooked our car with insurance through Travelocity. Once we got there waited over 40 minutes to get to speak with an agent so we were in a rush with having two very hungry and tired kids. They asked if we wanted insurance to which we told them no we already booked it. Then were told to sign some documents to get the car. We did as they said got the car, left and returned it on time with no issue. However when we got home we noticed they charged over $300 more than they should have and refuse to give us our money back. They said we had to have insurance and signed the document so we can't do anything about it. We told them we did NOT want it and were taken advantage of! Do not use them! Do not let them take advantage and lie to you! It looks like there are alot of reviews like mine to get a class action lawsuit going

Sales rep charged me for things I did not request.I paid for vehicle an insurance on Priceline days before renting get center to be ask for a credit card they held $499 dollars. After release was charges $299+41 in fuel after I brought the vehicle back on full watch this company scammers !!!!!! Overcharging

If only I had seen the reviews!!! STAY AWAY if you value your hard earned $$$! They are deceiving to say the least! Told me one thing at the counter and I should've not trusted but now I learned my lesson! Got overcharged by almost $300 and because I believed the liar at the counter there's nothing that can be done!! Never again will I ever use this company!

2 employees at the desk. Literally just heard an employee say “we offer the cheapest rates so we have lines like this every day”. Just an idea…maybe have more than 2 employees at the desk. Currently there are ~50 people in line, and the line is, literally, out the door. If you’re in any kind of hurry, don’t rent from here. If you’re ok with a long wait in exchange for “the cheapest rate” than this is the place for you!

DO NOT rent from Dollar SD airport. Do not even attempt to save a few bucks by renting here. We got to the rental facility at 1:15pm. The line of people out the door was insane and the line did not move. By 3:00 we were still waiting in line just to check in. I couldnt get anyone on the phone and of course because my reservation time had passed I couldnt cancel it. By 3pm I had rented another car online from another business and had our car and were gone by 3:15. What a joke. Seriously, do not rent a car from this place.

Horrible service and mediocre car. I arrived to the terminal at 12pm and ended up getting my car at 1:30pm. A full 1h and 30min on Dollar’s line to pick up my car. I requested a compact and they provided an electric vehicle and requested the battery returned full. How was I going to charge the vehicle in a hotel? I then exchanged the car for a gas vehicle and was given one without a working beeper, scratches all over, and weird smell. And on top of that charged me $5 for making the exchange…when I never asked for an electric. The employee in the parking lot exit said, “it’s only $5, you can pay it out of pocket if your company doesn’t”. INCREDIBLE.

Very easy pickup and drop off. Car was clean and in great shape. They provided us with car seats for our kids and offer the option to prepay for gas at a discounted price.

The worst experience ever! I made my reservation online and prepaid as well. When I got to the airport pick up location, I was shocked to see the line out the door! There were easily over 60 people in line. They need to hire more employees. This is ridiculous!

I wish I was giving a zero star review. This company completely screwed up my vacation plans. The vehicle I reserved was not available, a full size, and I got instead a sub compact. To add insult to injury, I was told by the company representative that the electric vehicle was the same price as a full size... Bullshit!!! I don't recommend Dollar Rental Cars to anybody. Caveat Imptor!!! Stay away, far away.

The worst. Don't rent here. Took over an hour in line to get reserved car. Then long line in garage to get out because system failure. Then drove a few miles to hotel to wake up to a tire that was almost flat. Put air in it only to wake up to an almost flat tire the next morning. Do they maintain their cars?
