Used this location once. I was not impressed by their unprofessionalism. Take pictures and get documents once you return the car. Don't trust Hertz overall as a company. Google "Hertz lawsuits stolen vehicles" They have been guilty of accusing customers of not returning vehicles. When the customers, in fact, did return the vehicles. Oh, even better customers that were legitimately car jacked they were also accused of grand theft. Even when vetted police reports were provided.

I initially wrote a bad review about Hertz car sales in Kearny Mesa. I had just bought a car on Saturday, October 22 and I was in love with it fast forward to Monday, October 23 wake up to all my tires being flat needless to say, I was very frustrated and angry so I immediately called Hertz and I thought I was speaking to the manager that I originally thought dealing with on Saturday but I was not. It was another manager Brad and to my surprise Brad was very kind caring and took care of the matter right away. He had me meet him along with the salesman that sold me the car at the tire shop at 4 o'clock and immediately replaced my tires. I can't speak highly enough of this place and their customer service especially from those two was outstanding. I feel safe driving my new car now, and I am happy to deal with them again in the future I will recommend them to all my friends and family simple fact that they were so quick to react and take care of me. Thank you again.

Thank you to Brad and Dave and all the staff really, who got me into my new used car. They're very down to earth and helpful. This is the 2nd vehicle that I have purchased from them. Keep them in mind if you're car searching.

I'm giving a one-star review for Shaw/Shawn, whose attitude was abysmal and whose willingness to help was practically nonexistent.I asked him if a particular car had Apple CarPlay - something he should have known - but he didn't. To confirm, I suggested connecting my phone to the car, but he seemed uninterested in fetching the keys from the office, so he blatantly lied, saying the car was already sold. However, when I called Hertz later to arrange a test drive for the vehicle, GUESS WHAT?? they mentioned that our "friendly sales guide Shawn" would be available to assist. What a joke. What a CLOWNThat's not all. I asked Shawn about having my girlfriend co-sign the financing agreement since I'm a grad student without a job. When he asked about her occupation and I told him she's an eyelash stylist, he immediately started shaking his head and mumbling "no." He asserted that she needed to receive paychecks, not cash. The audacity of his assumption - that she must be paid in cash because of her profession - is simply outrageous. When he inquired about her credit score and I said it was 750, he sidetracked the conversation by insisting that some businesses pay employees in cash. He tried to distract me from his arrogant demeanor, but I wasn't fooled. And his argument made no sense - why would a business prefer to pay employees in cash(even it's legal in California), risking tax evasion, rather than keeping track with paychecks? Owners always keep the cash duh.Not to brag but my girlfriend makes $35 per hour plus tips, which results in over $300 on a bad day and over $500 on a good day. She might be making three times what Shawn earns, but his narrow-mindedness prevents him from understanding the profitability of the eyelash styling business. It seems he's oblivious to the cost of beauty services, which is perhaps because of his apparent lack of personal experience in relationships as a 50 year old virgin. If the management is reading this review, I strongly urge you to reconsider Shawn's employment. His attitude and behavior are detrimental to your business, and it's not just me who's voicing these concerns. Please take a moment to read the other reviews that highlight similar experiences with this individual.I am utterly disappointed with Shawn's unprofessional behavior, he's a f*cking c*nt.

Worse dealer ever. Manager Steve has no idea what’s he is doing. I had appointment and told us has to wait 2 hours. We left for lunch and came back and they told us I can’t help you, you have to wait for the sales guy to finish with one costumer. After we waited, he told us banks are closed and we have to come back another day.We drove for Los Angeles to SD for this kind of customers service.

I had a terrible experience with Hertz They sold me a car and took my trade in let me keep the car for 2 weeks and ask me to bring the car back They said I didn't have my job long enough On too if that when I bring the car back and get my trade in back a very important piece is missing off my car and they act like it ain't shit The salesman has been off for two days and the other employees are no help Niw the salesman is telling me I lost the piece to my car but avoiding my calls This is very unprofessional and if they think I'm going away I'm not This is a very terrible dealership and it would be a problem if I brought back there vehicle not in the same condition It has been 3 days and they have not responded but don't worry this is not over by a long shot Now they got there car back but are not worried about the missing piece to the lock on my door They knew they lost this piece which is why the salesman open my car door and let me get in the car so I wouldn't see the missing peace I thought they were some decent guys but they played me and now tryna avoid me Don't go to Hertz they are not honest men But I still need the piece to my car

I just purchased my car on 12/2022. Thank you to FELIX who was helpful. I give him 5/5. Please keep in mind also that everyone single one of these cars have probably been a lease or a rental at some point- and pretty much anybody who has driven THESE car trash them, speeding, slam on breaks, don't give AF, because it's a rental!! And they drive it like they stole it. I highly recommend for each person if they're going to purchase a car to LOOK AND CHECK on the exterior in DAYLIGHT do not go at night time. AS BLACK cars and white you might not see every ding, scratch or minor details. That you may discover later. Like I have. But it's to me not too much I'm worrying about. I'm very happy with my purchase. Second of all, check the engine and if you need to take it to a mechanic to have a double checked, I highly recommend that as well do your research!!! Third: Compare to CarMax and others. I'm so glad I didn't go with car max as well. There's was $14000 CHEAPER here with Hertz! My husband was floored and was so proud I got such a great price - and I mean I did wait 2 years to find the best one for me. Also, a lot of these vehicles have been in some type of fender bender or another. whether it was an accident or a completely replace, still apparently they sell them. They fix it. Paint it. Replace it. Sell it. Upon looking at my car today I was just a little disappointed because I see all the scratches and dings as I took it to the car wash today as this is my second or third time taking it there I see a huge what appears I don't even know how to explain it, but where you open the door? It looks all scratched like somebody kicked it or something. Idk know how to describe it. But when you sign the contract, basically buying the car AS IS, unless there is a replacement part to be ordered and they will do that for you. BUT YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM TO FIX IT. CLOSE MOUTHS DON'T GET FED. **This is another reason why am giving them four out of five stars because I have not yet received two items that are supposed to be on my dashboard. And the scratches I'm now seeing. And with my car I got, a 2021 Buick encore which this has been my dream car for over three years. -So to say disappointed in the paint work and these small scratches here and there that I keep finding are just completely minor. Engine and tired are fine. And they said it was NOT in an accident. So thank goodness for that. The car is 2 years old with 30k miles on it. I still know I had a great deal. I was in need of a new family car. So I was in the market for over 2 years. My sister had told me she had purchased her car from Hertz sales up in the bay area and so I looked and I found the closest one to me which was in this location. I originally was speaking to one sales person, but apparently he was off and transferred me over to Felix. He was helpful during the process. I had my I said on the Mazda, CX nine, and unfortunately, the ones that they had with the amount of money that I was prepared to spend did not have all the bells and whistles that I was looking for. I was kind of disappointed but that's Mazda's fault not there's. My Buick has all the bells and whistles I wanted. Touch screen, heated seats, cameras, when I back up, lane departure, it corrects you when you're driving. If you're driving over the line it was correct you. I cannot love this car enough. Everything that I wanted and I only test drove to them that day. Linda was also such a great help in the process. She's a sweet ol gal just been going her job a long A** time. So I get why she might be a little intimidating but she has the easiest financing solutions. I didn't need my pay stubs. And I got a decent loan for 7% at 5.5 years. And I got the warranty for powertrain just in case anything goes wrong it's covered for 12$ extra a month. Took about 5 hours since I didn't know what I wanted exactly but once I saw my baby Buick I was in love! Best car ever! **Also sold my car private party since they

Not a good experience for me. I was browsing on their car lot and guy named Shaw came up to me offering help. I asked to see the Mazda CX-5 they had but as soon as I was in the back seat for 30 seconds, that Shaw dude told me this was no place to do car research and told me to go to a dealership to do my research. I was like what the heck does that mean. I love the Kona they had on lot but end up buying a Malibu at their Kettner Blvd office.

Showed up to buy a new car. Immediately noticed LOTS of smoke coming out of the exhaust on start up and decided to pop the hood. Engine was shaking like crazy and was obviously about to go at anytime. Salesman proceeded to tell me it was normal for cars to do that as if I was d**** Moved on to the next fusion they had and it was in good shape. I asked if I move forward with the credit application how many hard inquiries would show up on my credit report. I was told only 1 hard inquiry. The second the paper gets handed off to the finance department i get notified immediately about 4 new hard inquired they made. I ended up not getting approved and have an additional 4 inquiries on my report now. Had I been properly informed I would have not made the decision to get my credit pulled. All around a shady dealership and I would recommend going elsewhere.

The first thing I want to say about my interaction with this business is that the sales staff I interacted with were all very friendly, very helpful, and knew their business well. In fact, they were all quite forthcoming with personal stories about their life and their life experiences which made my overall car buying process here very unique. I purchased my car from this location two years into the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. For those of you who may read this review at some point in the future, it was during this time that it was nearly impossible to get a reasonable deal on a new car because they had supply-chain issues and the dealers were adding large price add-ons to the few models that they did have on their lots. As I needed a car, I decided to buy a preowned vehicle. Though I live in the Los Angeles area, I chose this location due to the fact that they had the make and the model of a car I wanted and they were selling it for a competitive price. The overall process was very easy. I called them up, they texted me the cash out-the-door price a short time later. I made an appointment to purchase and pick up the car the next day. Thus, I believe the sale of this car was a fairly easy process for all of the people I dealt with. I arrived the next day with a cashier's check in hand. They showed me the vehicle, it looked fine, and we set about doing the paperwork. The only problem that occurred during this process was the fact that their Internet connection went down, which led to an extended stay at the dealership, as they first waited for their system to come back up, which it did not, and then they decided to do the paperwork old-school style and print it out. I have purchased numerous cars over the years and this was the longest time I have ever spent in a dealership. Though I certainly can't blame the staff at this location for the problem with their Internet connection. Once the paperwork was printed out, the financial executive came out and offered me various up-sell items. For example they offered me a maintenance plan via Pep Boys. I've experienced some problems at Pep Boys in the past, so I turned this and all of the other offers down. The one reason I am giving this dealership a three-star instead of a five-star rating is, they only gave me one key with the purchase of this car. For anybody who has ever rented a car, and I have rented from Hertz and other car rental agencies literally hundreds of times, they always have two keys. But, the financial manager at this location offered to sell me the second key for this car for an exorbitant amount of money. It was a really high dollar amount. Plus, she did this very late in the deal, long after I had given her the payment and signed most of the paperwork. It felt like a total bait and switch ploy. I obviously turned down the offer. I think this is a very bad business practice when you buy a car from a dealership and they actually try to sell you the second key. I mean, what is this dealership going to do with a key for a car they no longer own? I am guessing that this, sell the second key to the buyer is a corporate policy and not simply a dealership thing. But, they are the ones doing it. And, I believe this is wrong. Whoever makes the decisions about these sort of things at Hertz Car Sales and/or this dealership should really take a closer look at this practice because I believe anyone who thinks about this will conclude that it is not an honorable way to treat a customer. If someone buys a car, provide the buyer with both of the keys! Other than the fact that I am going to have to go out and have another electronic key made, which is not cheap, my overall experience with this dealership was good. Again, the sales team were all very nice. Just keep the key thing in mind if you ever go to this dealership as they don't tell you about this fact until you have paid for your car and the deal is basically done.

Felix Ramos is an Awesome sales person. There was no pressure and he did a fabulous job explaining everything to me. I did not purchase the vehicle on the first time I went in and I sent Felix a few question and Felix was very prompt to get back me and answer my questions. Felix did such a good job that the next time we look for a vehicle we will go with him first. I was very nervous about buying a newer truck and was so happy after we talked to Felix. My wife has an auto immune disease and always wears a mask. When Felix saw us he put on a mask and he did not have to but that was very nice. I cannot say this enough... Felix Ramos was an Awesome representative of Hertz!! I would highly recommend Hertz and ask for Felix Ramos!!
