“Ivan saved the day! We found out our old mattress was covered in mold so we needed a replacement in our new place ASAP. Being the day before Thanksgiving, I was not having much luck. This was our last stop, and we ended up purchasing a new one from Craig Levitt - he was so helpful and made the process very easy. “We bought two Human Touch chairs at The Healthy Back Store in Hill Crest 10 to 15 years ago, which have served us very well. Last year the engine seized on my husband's chair and we were so happy the find The Relax The Back Store in Mission Valley, and that they were able to repair his chair. This year, my chair's engine seized and once again The Relax The Back Store's technicians were able to replace the engine right in my living room! I look forward to many more years of comfort from my Human Touch chairs!”

“We came into this location looking for a particular leather arm chair we saw on their website. We were immediately greeted by Marie, very friendly and extremely helpful. We looked around a bit unfortunately they did not have the chair we were looking for on display but Marie was able to order it for us and gave us a great deal which included delivery. The overall experience was wonderful and Marie went above and beyond to assist us in our purchase. “I needed a sleeping area for my living room.
After looking at many ideas: pull out couches, loungers, and daybeds, I settled on the idea of a futon. I have never had a futon before.
I am recently really into buying local small businesses and from my research I found a couple of places in the county. Creative Futons looked the best to try first even though it was not the closest.
I went on a Saturday at 10am and that is a busy time around North Park. People were walking everywhere and the majority seemed to have at least one dog. There was also road construction going on. I parked in the residential area about 4 blocks away, but I found out after that there are actual parking lots on the other side of University from Creative Futons behind the bank.
There is a sign on the door of Creative Futons that you have to knock or call to get let in because of the owner's dog needing to be safe.
Leslee, the owner, let me in and I had a personalized shopping experience as I was there at opening and was the only one in the store. She helped me see everything there and narrow down what I needed based on suitability for my situation and price.
The store has lots of styles of futons everywhere. It is nice to see them in person because the one I was considering before going in was way too huge and I found that the actual cushions can vary wildly in comfort levels.
Leslee is so vibrant and friendly that I didn't even realize I had been there over an hour. I initially only expected to be there 10 minutes max and had another appointment to get to. I called her hours later asking about a different style futon and she not only remembered me by name, but suggested I come in the next day (her day off), so we made an appointment.
That next day, she showed up exactly on time. It was great. We looked around a bit and a few other customers came in too so, she focused on us, but bounced back and forth between customers. She didn't seem rushed at all. No closing the deal, just a feeling of here are futons try them out and we will chat about anything as well.
Eventually, we decided on a frame, mattress and cover. We paid, she got our pieces (we had brought our van, so no need for delivery) and said we could bring the van just out front/side in the beginning of the alley.
She was wrapping up another sale just as we were loading up the van.
What a wonderful experience! I can see why she has been in business for so many years.
My futon is absolutely the best.
It is easy to open/close (it is a very simple Wall Hugger) and the mattress part is really comfortable to sit or sleep on.”
