The North gate is NOW OPEN!! Two days before it finally opened it took me FIFTY minutes to get off the base, then 10 more minutes to get home while my frozen commissary groceries were MELTING!! They must've gotten more troops OR citizens to man both gates! The traffic is now flowing normally! All the stores and services MUST be happy now, and probably seeing more of their customers returning! ?

Stopped in to pick up groceries for the week since it was close by, normally go to 32nd Street. The usual good prices, brands and food choices. Not the biggest Commissary but didn't have any problems getting what I needed. The staff was out and about, but I didn't need to bother them for any requests. The building seems a little older, but I'm sure it's served the base well. Will always recommend the commissary, and will be back if I'm in the area.

Well stocked. Prices about the same or little more than outside the base.

Top notch checkout and bagging experience. Aisles wide. Items clearly marked. Clear and clean fresh produce and fruit area.

Thank you for having lower cost groceries compared to public markets.Downfalls of shopping here are the times when you purchase some food and it’s already 5 days expired. Another downfall is the baggers that give you dirty looks or talk bad about you as you leave for either not tipping or not tipping “enough” according to their standards(the kids are usually appreciative, it is the older adults that make it uncomfortable).

Beware of the employee named Maria. She was super aggressive approaching me to tell me my 2 boys knocked over a whole pallet of toilet paper when actually they tipped over two packets) not pallets! And I had already corrected my kids and told them to stop playing around. She got in my face, yelling and pointing. I let her call her manager over and he even had to tell her to calm down. She kept staring me down and making faces even as I was speaking with the manager. Very bad experience thanks to her.

Great place to shop, but they close too early

Not as large as the 32nd street commissary but much less crowded. Pricing is overall in-line with the community. Dry goods better priced than off the base. By knowing the current prices out-side the base you can maximize your savings. Also, they have a good selection of items not available elsewhere.

This time I went to the Miramar Commissary instead of 32nd St. I find that this one has more of a variety of different foods from different cultures. The staff for the most part are very friendly but you also get the occasional Scrooge that just can’t be in the happy pappy mood as his or her coworkers. The prices cannot beat with some items costing $5 compared to the $15 charged at your local drug or grocery store. The lines are fairly fast(yes I said lines ) filled with military personnel, retired couples, young moms with their children all missing her husband their dad. Very rarely will you see an older single woman (me) who is divorced from a military man.~ Mayumi

Commissary was surprisingly well stocked. Very clean. Busy, but quick check-out. I normally shop at Camp Pendleton. Love how much spread out Miramar is.

Great prices and variety. Wish they had more of the shopping carts with the steering wheel for the kids I believe they only have 2 or 3. The 32nd street Commissary has a ton just sitting in the parking lot.

These people need to have a better fruits/vegetables rotation/disposal and shelves cleaning. Every time I buy fruits or veggies (because the location is convenient) something is ALWAYS MOLDY. Watermelons, coconuts, raspberries, strawberries, peppers. I have walked through the shelves and bags of SALAMI are moldy.Definitely hire someone competent to recognize when your grocery is bad!
