Navy Gateway Inns and Suites, located on the dry side of Naval Base San Diego, offers a range of lodging options in remodeled former barracks. Rooms vary, with some requiring shared bathrooms while others, like those in Ford Hall, feature private rooms and bathrooms equipped with air conditioning. Guests find the beds comfortable, and the rooms include amenities such as a decent-sized refrigerator with a true freezer, a microwave, and a single-cup coffee maker with provided pods. While the furniture may be dated, the rooms are kept clean by friendly staff who also provide good customer service. Parking is generally ample, although the main building may have limited spaces. Guests appreciate the proximity to the dining facility, though eating options can be limited. Some reviews mention issues with air conditioning and occasional pest problems, but the maintenance staff responds quickly to address concerns. Overall, Navy Gateway Inns and Suites is considered a reasonable choice for those on temporary duty in San Diego.
terrible. might as well be a motel with these accommodations. My room doesn't even have AC. Water stinks, and shower drain cover is loose which is hazardous.
Update: I woke up today with no hot water. Add that to the list.
